Our family loved the Malanage Hot Springs! We could have spent hours here. Our 7 and 9 year old children swam for hours, and the caretakers are very welcoming. See our video of this amazing place at Travel Hacking Teachers.

Great way to relax your body after a trek or just anytime really. No crowds, I had the place to myself for an hour before anyone else arrived. The water is a mix of freezing cold water flowing on one side and boiling hot water on the opposite flowing together into a the waterhole the temperature is perfect and you can move from one side to the other if you get too hot or cold. Enabling you to enjoy it longer than a Japanese onsen.
There is a changing area and you pay a small cost/donation to the locals to use the bathing area. Close to Bena village.

We had a very relaxing stop at these springs as part of our wonderful 22 days travelling east to west on Flores.

These hot springs are gorgeous - difficult if you have problems with walking as you have to step over rocks and stones a lot. Set in a forest and totally natural and unspoilt. No commercialism here! A lovely end to the day.

This was such a nice treat to experience! I was lucky enough to come in the very early afternoon before it got busy, and was actually there for about 30 minutes all by myself! It was incredibly relaxing and felt amazing with the perfect temperature mix of mountain and volcano water, making for a nice stop on a chilly day. It is a beautiful little spot and all natural. The place got busy fast in the afternoon, with locals stopping by probably to relax, maybe after work. They brought soap and many friends. In the late afternoons and weekends I assume it's quite lively. I very much stuck out as the only Bule around. The local girls were all wearing shorts and t-shirts, and the guys just wore normal shorts mostly, so I also stuck out a bit by wearing my bathing suit. I rode a bike here which was very easy except that my GPS didn't work the entire time in the mountains, so if that happens, just stop and ask people on the street along the way to make sure you're going the right direction and they'll help you out. If you want a taste of local relaxation and natural beauty, this is a great spot!

The hot pools are a wonderful place to visit.
They occur where two small rivers / streams meet, one being very cold, and the other scolding hot.

As the water flows down, rocks have been placed to create several areas you can sit and enjoy.

In the areas where the two waters have mixed, it makes for a wonderful temperature to sit back and enjoy.

There are two areas with curtains for changing, and drinks are available to buy.

We also ate noodles there but they were cooked by our guides aunt and we aren't sure if this is something that is available to everyone or not.

Two rivers, one cold and the other warm, and in the place where they are,the water is in a perfect temperature for the bath. Many local people come here late afternoon to play and relax. Beautiful place to see and talk with the people of the country.

The scenery and the water temperatures/sources make it unique. The hot water comes from the volcano, the cold from the mountain. They mix together to make three temperatures. The scenery is incredible—forest canopy covering the pools and big rocks the water runs over. Facilities are basic, meaning there is a small wooden hut with a curtain to change. If you don’t want to use your t-shirt, bring your own towel. The cost is 10,000/person and there is no time limit. My husband and I went during non-peak season and there were only ever about 8 people at the most.

It was a wonderful time for us to enjoy hot and cold spring of Malanage. Located in the jungle around 50 minutes from Bajawa town. There was very quite time so I and two Dutch girls spend the time to swim and lay down in hot and cold water. It was amazing. Sometime feels to hot, cold, warm and very cold. it caused of the both spring come and mixing in one small pool.
According to locals the water from this spring is consist of sulfur so it good for skin. Some people had problem of skin and recovered by taking a bath in this hot spring
