One of the best Indonesian Mosque. Beautiful and authentic minang taste in design. Beautiful ornament, lighting, specious prayers areas. The carpet is smooth. You also can find some of Minang traditional houses in the complex. Prayer in this mosque just like getting closer to God; peaceful!

We visited this beautiful huge mosque with the unique Minangkabau design. But the toilets are not well maintained. Worth visiting the mosque

This is a newly constructed mosque, but nonetheless the main mosque for West Sumatra. It is a beautiful work of art, inside and out. The superb exterior has a traditional spiked roof and many external ornaments. Inside is a beautiful domed space, with lovely Islamic patterns on walls and doors. The ceiling is superb. Provided you dress with due modesty and remove your shoes, you are welcome to visit (but not at prayer times, of course). Certainly worth doing so if you are in Padang.

If you have any interest in architecture this is a must see. You don't get a sense of the scale of it unless you're there in person. It's huge. The design is based on a traditional Minangkabau Gadang house. You have to see it at various times. It's impressive during the day and beautiful at night. This is worth visiting Padang for. Note that this is a place of worship and any visitors need to be respectful.

The mosque is a world class design particularly it brings out the silhouette of the traditional west Sumatra roof style. Really wait and want to see the full completion when they finish landscape works.

Ideally visit when there are not a lot of tour buses present! This is the newest and largest mosque in Padang and even if one knows nothing about Islam it is worth a visit.

Very impressive and worth paying a visit. For a small fee you can get a sarung or whatever you need to pay certain bodyparts

We were impressed by the architecture of the Grand Mosque. Beautiful inside out. However, the workmanship was poor. It was raining during our visit, so stagnant water was everywhere especially outside the mosque. A must visit if your are in Padang city, a blend of modern & traditional culture. Do dress appropriately if you want to enter the mosque.
