If you’ve come this far searching for a reliable tour operator for your trip to Sumatra then look no further. Tri Jaya Tours is the one for you.
From the moment I sent my first email, everything has been handled professionally. Diana was prompt in her replies. Offers suggestions and recommendations and is open for discussions. In the end, I settled for a six day customised adventure tour (think hiking, trekking, volcanoes and waterfalls) of North Sumatra. Some of the places I wanted to visit were truly off the beaten path and we had to engage the services of local guides who are more familiar with these areas. Careful and meticulous planning is certainly needed and Tri Jaya Tours managed to deliver.
Six days might be too short to travel in a vast area like Sumatra, but Diana certainly knew what she was doing when she proposed the itinerary. Everything went according to plan without any hiccups.
My guide/ driver throughout the trip, Ucok, was a real gentleman. From the moment he received me at the airport, I knew I was in good hands. Honest, responsible, and respectful; qualities you would want in a good guide/ driver. He knew his way around the province very well. Safety was never compromised.
I am truly thankful that I had engaged the services of Tri Jaya Tours. It was the best decision made. I had a wonderful time in North Sumatra and I’m sure you will too. Just make sure you do it with Tri Jaya Tours.

The Tri Jaya team looked after us on our North Sumatra tour like only a family business can. Responsive and attentive to all the details, we did a loop through Bukit Lawang, Beristagi and Lake Toba, giving us jungle, mountains and sunsets on the lake. Our driver took a detour so we could book our onward bus ticket from Parapat to get us out to West Sumatra and he made the whole journey care free.
You can customise the itinerary, it was no problem when we asked for a jungle camp and an extra night.

In Indonesia we, 3 generations, visited Sumatra to find back a place from ‘oma’s’ youth. Searching on the internet we came across the website of Tri Jaya Tour & Travel in Medan. With the help of Diana Pardamean we planned a 8-day trip across North and West Sumatra. Unfortunately we had to postpone the trip due to Covid19. So we were very pleased we could still make it 2 years later. Diana kept responding quickly to all my questions and everything was very well arranged.
We were picked up from the airport in Medan by our private driver and guide Dedy Suhaidi, who brought us to the beautiful Deli River hotel. There we could rest, swim and have a lovely dinner in the restaurant. The next day we went with Dedy on our trip. He showed us the highlights of Sumatra, including Brastagi, Bukit Lawang with its orangutans, the Batak heritage on Samosir island and Bukittingi. Finally we visited the the former womens camp in Bangkinang.
We enjoyed our trip with Dedy a lot. He is a friendly and very helpful guide who knows a lot and answered all our questions patientely. In addition he is a safe driving chauffeur and a very pleasant travel companion. When you are looking for a Sumatra tour we can highly recommend Tri Jaya Tours and Dedy Suhaidi. You won’t regret it!

Together with my girlfriend I had an amazing 3-day custom made itinerary in Sumatra. From the Orangutans in Bukit Lawang, to a hike on the Sibayak vulcano and drop-off in Samosir. Everything was organized perfectly. The hotels were great, the tours were amazing and the personal contact to arrange everything was highly appreciated. Special thanks to our driver, Anto, who was the one tying all puzzle pieces together. He is very friendly, knowledgeable and caring. My girlfriend is recovering from a knee injury, but she was nonetheless still able to do everything because we could adjust to her pace. All in all, I would definitely recommend Tri Jaya!

We contacted Tri Jaya about a nostalgia tour to Medan, where we lived as children in the early 1960s. Our trip well exceeded expectations.
We stayed at the Deli River hotel which was a very pleasant oasis with nice large rooms and friendly and efficient staff.
What really made our trip was our guide/driver Anto who threw himself into the nostalgia project with enthusiasm to match our own. He took us to places we recalled, introduced us, chatted and facilitated discussion about our history and the places we visited. As another review said, he was intuitive; he picked up what interested us and helped us experience not only locations but also food and other aspects of Indonesian culture. Plus with two full days we had the opportunity to go to other places such as the Grand Mosque, the Tjong A Fie Museum, the Maimun Palace, Museum of North Sumatra and Maha Vihara Maitreya temple.
We were also impressed by Tri Jaya's organisation. Everyone seemed fully briefed on who were were, what we wished to do, and what we had done! Not a single detail was overlooked in making our experience a memorable one.

The sunrise hike up the volcano was very good and guide was very knowledgeable. The volcano and crater are very impressive. Unfortunately it was a weekend so everywhere was full of locals camping and hanging out and as there were so few westerners we got hassled alot for photos. The hot springs were in fact public geotherm baths again full of locals (fully clothed) in the baths. As the only westerners, we were openly stared at and felt very uncomfortable so didnt change or use the baths. Therefore, our trip was shorter than expected. Guests booking this trip should be advised that they need to be covered if they use the baths. Also feel the trip was vastly overpriced for what it was.

To ensure the safety and comfort of our guests, we provide an additional payment to our drivers for operating during these non-standard hours. The tour extends for around 8 hours, and the cost of Rp. 1,200,000 per person (USD$75 per person) reflects the quality and expertise of our service. We believe in providing value and unique experiences for our guests.
Weekend Crowds: We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced due to the crowds of local tourists during your visit. Please understand that we have limited control over the presence of local visitors, and these destinations are popular among the local community as well. We strive to provide our services to accommodate the availability of our guests, and if Sunday was the only option for your trip, we did our best to ensure your experience was enjoyable.
Hot Spring Attire: We are sorry to hear that you felt uncomfortable at the public geothermal baths. While there is no strict dress code for these pools, we generally advise tourists to dress modestly as a sign of respect for the local culture. However, please be assured that there is no official ban on Western-style swimwear, and many international visitors use these pools without any issues. We respect and appreciate your feedback on this matter.

We undertook a bespoke 10 day tour. Program was designed with them and was very flexible. The hotels we stayed in were as advertised but the trip was made very special by Dedi our guide who drove us round. He was very courteous and knowledgeable. Everywhere we stopped he selected an excellent local guide. We say multiple semi wild and wild orangutans and a flowering Rafflesia Arnoldii plus great volcano experience. We did not want to eat in hotels but try local establishments and Dedi guided us through this without an illness for ten days and great varied food.

Amongst the tour operator that I reached out to, Tri Jaya Tour & Travel was the most responsive and efficient. Diana was conversant in English and she addressed my queries as a solo traveller patiently.
Driver and tour guide for the hiking were conversant in English and looked out for my safety. They were also knowledgeable and introduced me to Medan and Indonesian culture during the journey.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience with Tri Jaya Tour & Travel. Thank you Diana and her team!

My friend and I did a 7 day tour through North Sumatra with Trijaya and enjoyed it very much. We appreciated our driver Udin, who is a great and safe (!) driver, but also had a keen eye for our needs. Udin helped us to find specific locations (we were in interested in Dutch-Indonesian Colonial heritage), or just lovely viewpoints on the way to our next destination.
The car we used for the trip was in excellent shape and the hotels of good quality.
Note that transfers between your stops will take much more time than you'd expect based on sheer distance, so you'll spend a considerable amount of time in the car. Make sure to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the road side as well!

We really would like to thank you for the beautiful Sumatra trip. The trip, the landscape and the nature were very beautiful to experience.
One absolute success factor was our driver Anto.
Mas Anto is a very experienced and careful driver, who knows his island well. In additon to the program, Mas Anto showed us many things we are really interested in. When we had health issues, Mas Anto took very good care of us till we were fully healthy again.

Me and my wife will be visiting Medan on 16th to 19th of October 2015.
On 17th October my wife would like to go on the Medan Architecture Day Tour by Herself.
I would like to know is there a joint group tour of Medan Architecture Day tour during that day?
I'm a little worried because she will be going on her own on the 17th, I cannot come along due to work commitment on that day.
On 18th October We would like to go on the Medan - Brastagi - Sipiso-piso Waterfall Day Tour for 2 person.
