Anto is a world-class guide, he is well travelled and extremely knowledgeable. He is also very intuitive, knowing when we were truly interested in something and picking up on when we were ready to move on. We were picked up, on time, from our Medan hotel in a very comfortable, air-conditioned Toyota, which Anto drove safely and expertly. The sights are worth the trip, in fact the waterfall blew us away and the lake is impressive. The traditional Batak houses are beautiful and a reminder of simpler times. Do this tour, but make sure you ask for Anto!

Barumun is very nice to visit with kids. The people are very kind and the animals are very approachable. It was a full day visit seeing elephants, tiger, monkeys and hornbill birds. Lunch was local and tasty. Breathtaking views. We even saw their new homestay location with stunning view. Unfortunately we didn’t book this. Highly recommended to visit or take into your itenary.

Our driver, Anto, was great. However, the traffic this day was very bad so we spent most of the time just in the car and didn't have much time to actually stop. We ended up coming back much later as well. We didn't do everything that was on the itinerary.

Response from budgetqq, Owner at Tri Jaya - Day Tours

The guest has LIED and the information is INACCURATE. The guest did all the excursions on the itinerary booked with us. The guest is complaining that they were in the car all day with traffic jams. This is a LIE as they had many stops along the way including a 1 hour stop at the Sipiso-piso waterfall (Northern Part of Laketoba) to take drone footage. In terms of traffic jam, as they did the tour on a weekday the traffic jam was very minimal. After the trip with us was concluded on the same day, the guests booked an additional tour with ANOTHER company to go to Bukit Lawang (another 3.5 hours drive) and now they are blaming us that they were in the car all day. This Bukit Lawang trip with another company has nothing to with us while we get the blame. It is very UNFAIR that the guest is asking for a refund and is writing a bad review about our services. This review is UNFAIRLY and UNJUSTLY criticizing our services. We always do our utmost best for our guests. Best regards, Tri Jaya Tour and Travel Management

I now understand why this travel agency is on top of the list in Trip Advisor. Simply put, they gave me the trip of a lifetime. From the care they took in planning the itinerary, to the quality of the guides they engaged, the tours (including some I hadn't thought of), arranging transfers, drivers, tickets, they made this a stress-free trip. Neither words nor pictures can capture the experience of Sumatra forest. The wildlife, the terrain, the tent, the freshly cooked foods in the forest, the orang utans and Thomas the leaf monkey, All wild animals in the forest and the people made this experience unforgettable. just beyond superb! Thanks trijaya tour, can't wait to be back!

This is a place to proof that wild elephants, birds, apes can live wild and freely in a palm oil plantation. Enough is biased and baseless judgement on how bad palm oil plantation impact on wild life! You should see how elephants enjoy consuming palm oil leaves! It is a hidden gem with beautiful water fall and stunning lake. If you are lucky you can spot native rare birds. Nature lovers and wild life promoters should come and see by her/his own eyes how beautiful and harmonious is the live of these elephants family in Barumun Nagari! The guide, the driver and even the owner are absolutely amazing! One more thing, advance reservations is a must because this place is a sanctuary so they must limit number of visitors! This place is NOT touristy and definitely NOT for for big group of tourist who only carE for selfies! Only those who love nature and wild life would be rewarded by the beauty of this place!
