The Maha Vihara in Cemara Asri is a big temple. The Budha, Kwan Yin and Kwang Kong statues are huge. The temple is spacious and well kept. Good surrounding and a nice place to visit.

Maha Vihara Maitreya is also a commercial complex. They serves the WC to their food court and coffee shops client only. So, it is a temple or a department store? I went here in the week of Chinese New Year. So the place a bit crowded, and there are lots of Chinese ornament decorated the the temple, which made it more interesting.The architecture was great. This is the largest temple I ever been in Indonesia

The first and largest temple in Medan city, this temple prides itself with its slogan "One World One Family" which literally means they welcome anyone of any race or religious views to come and visit. Located within the housing complex of Cemara Asri, this place of worship is grand and welcoming towards people of all ethnic and religious background.

This temple will be really crowded in some special occassion, they open everyday until 10PM. This place is quite big and has vegetarian restaurant inside with different menus everyday. The restaurant closed in 8PM

The building decoration is impressive, especially the interior. We were there for during Chinese New Year, many people came here for prayers and making wishes. Toilet facility is available and benches for rest along corridor. There is a canteen selling vegetarian food at reasonable price. However, the location is not convenient for public transport. Actually we asked our tuk tuk driver to bring us to Vihara Gunung Timur, but he brought us to this Maha Vihara Buddhist temple. We were happy to see this place. Its very big and can accommodate few thousands devotees in one prayer session. The temple environment is very calm and peaceful. Cannot capture photoa inside the alter. So just... More

The biggest temple has ever found in Medan. Very organize and convinience to pray. Big hall for praying and has a kids play ground. The vegetarian restaurant is recomended.

Actually, this is one of the biggest temple in Asia. It has unique building. Many foreign visit this place in every holiday. But the distance from the city town makes public transportation not available.
