BEST SOUNDS OF NATURE
Jun 2021 • Friends
It was my second time visit Tunan Waterfall and the nature always heals me. I love the ambience and the quotes that we found hang on the tree, the area much better with the facilities of bathroom, only no one there selling snacks but I guess because of the pandemic because not many people come at time that's what I enjoy the most hehehe

Use google maps to get there
Sep 2019
there are no road signs, so make sure you have google maps enabled.
Very nice waterfall, you have the opportunity to take a dip in the cool water too so bring a change.
Lots of photo opportunities too.
Toilets are basic.

Go on a weekday when there's no one.

Best to go in the morning or early afternoon.
the sun sets at about 1730, and you dont want to be lost since there are no road signs

Nice waterfall
Sep 2018 • Solo
For the ones who don't hire a guide or tour to get there: trust google maps. It doesn't look like it, but it leads you right to the parking lot to the waterfall. Road is ok most of the way and should be doable with a normal car. I parked my scooter five minute walking to the entrance though after almost sliding off a hill.

I paid 20,000 Rupiah which was ok, given that it is a really nice and well maintained path to the fall. Don't expect a big hike. The waterfall was quite nice and I was the only one there so I could just listen to the water and relax. Overall it's well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Beautiful waterfall, minimal facilities
Dec 2017 • Family
The tour operator suggested Tunan when we indicated we wanted a waterfall which we can actually experience and have a dip in. And it exceeded our expectations. A short (around 1.5 km) and effortless trek over relatively flat terrain, we were rewarded with a majestic waterfall and there was no other visitors. The water fell into a sandy and shallow pool which meant we could experience and enjoy it completely. Surroundings were fantastic. However, there was no parking and other facilities were very basic. None of these affected our experience though, the waterfall was one of the highlights of our vacation to Manado.

Loved the water, the bathrooms not so much
Mar 2016 • Friends
The place was relatively clean and my friends and I went in for a dip. The water was freezing! However the toilet/bathroom was in a bad state and we decided to just towel off before going home. The view was excellent and there were locals selling coffee and fried bananas. Nice place, though not exciting enough for a second or third visit.

great and fun tunan waterfall
Apr 2016 • Family
Waterfall Tunan is the one of the beautiful nature spots located in Talawaan Village – North Minahasa. It takes ± 30 minutes by car and ± 15-20 minutes walking to the waterfalls. The Tunan Waterfall is 86 meters high and is surrounded by a natural forest. On your way to the destination, you will see a stretch of coconut trees. Fresh air and lush green paddies will refresh your mind and make you feel grateful as well when you see the waterfall.
The atmosphere here is very harmonious: the waterfall is surrounded by lush green trees, this combined with the monotous sound of the waterfall will make you feel relaxed instantly. If you want you can swim in the pond under the waterfall. The pond is about 1.5 m deep, but be carefull as there are many slippery rocks around it, especially watch children closely.
You should prepare some things if you want to visit this place. First, you should bring a second set of clothes and second, prepare enough cash money because this place is far away from any ATM. Don't be afraid you will get hungry as there are many shop selling foods and drinks for good price. There are also two toilets, one is right when you enter the gate and another one is near the waterfall.
you never regret after visit tunan waterfall, enjoy your trip.
