This area, full of gold shop.
Dont forget to bargain if you want to buy. And also try to combain each shop with the price.
Beside gold shop, some time you can find antiques. Rather than go by car, you can walking along the somba opu street.
Becarefull with your wallet. Sometimes pickpocket use their motorbike and grab your bag.

Do not go to somba opu street expecting to buy anything other than gold. And especially dont go there during ramudan. Nothing is open and its a ghost town on a sunday. terrible for a cruise ship port call.

It is a street not to be missed if you plan your trip to Makassar. The souvenir shops are located at this Somba Opu Street. This street is also renowned for jewellery shops. Don't miss it!

Many souvenirs shops located on Somba Opu Street, so it's a must list to do- to buy the handicrafts, clothing, food, also i suggest you to buy a bottle of Minyak Tawon. But the shop owner are keeping the price fixed, couldnt bargain in some shops.

This area is a heaven for people who love to shop. There are incredibly lots of special shops like Batik shops or Ole Ole shops where you can find lots of Toraja souvenirs or candy or a bracelet. There are also food stores. You can find it all here.
