Kuda Lumping is a traditional Javanese dance where dancers portray a group of horsemen, performed with a live orchestra playing traditional instruments such as the angklung, gongs and drums.
There is no fixed timing for the show. So basically you just need to turn up and wait for a crowd to gather - no problem at all on a weekend near lunch time. (Location is opposite Golden Prawn restaurant.) The short performance was entertaining, though we felt a little sorry for the dancers who ate glass and hot coals.
The performance is free, but tips are encouraged. We overheard a tour guide telling his group that it is 10,000 rupiah per person. Not sure if I heard correctly though.

The location of the show is close to the Golden Prawn restaurant. We came here as part of the tour package. It's quite something different show. The guy that do the show can open and crack the coconut with his mouth, eat a fiery coal and eat a broken glass. It's something you don't see in other country. If you want to see something different in Batam you should see this show.
