Museum Mpu Tantular located at Sidoarjo, around 1 hour driving to get there from city center. It is housed in the new building with contemporary Javanese architecture style. mpu tantular was a very strong and magical person. have alot of mystic power inside him. he is also a keris maker in his moment. indonesia had alot of mpu in the kingdom era.

Not too impressive for a museum. Seems neglected and minimum maintenance. The staff however, is very nice. Also, lots of food vendor nearby just in case one gets hungry.

the city surabaya is not really interesting to visit.. it looks like a huge suburb in asia although there are still some interesting places for the culture minded turist.is this still a not well known place to go. . the museum just moved to jalan raya buduran jembatan layang in sidoarjo a place near surabaya. the building consist 11 rooms... You can see a lot of historical things in there. Its worthy to go there and see. Friendly tour guides.

There's no more Museum Mpu Tantular there. Now it is a library of Bank Indonesia, open Monday til Saturday, 8 AM - 4 PM.
