I really enjoyed driving across the bridge both ways. It is an awesome structure and the dedicated scooter paths on each side are a great idea.

Had duck at a restaurant. Drove to a village called Kebanjar to get a view back to the bridge. Very primitive and lots of rubbish.

This iconic bridge is connecting surabaya city and madura island. Before this bridge exist, people should take a boat to cross the sea to go to madura island. The bridge can also be cross by motorcycle. The bridge is usual, but the view while we cross the bridge is exceptional, something rare can we found in indonesia. Should visit this bridge while tourist come to surabaya.

The Suramadu Bridge (Indonesian: Jembatan Suramadu), also known as the Surabaya–Madura Bridge, is cable-stayed bridge between Surabaya on the island of Java and the town of Bangkalan on the island of Madura in Indonesia. Opened in June 2009,[2] the 5.4-km bridge is the longest in Indonesia and the first bridge to cross the Madura Strait.[3]

The cable-stayed portion has three spans with lengths 192 m, 434 m and 192 m. The bridge has two lanes in each direction plus an emergency lane and a dedicated lane for motorcycles in each direction.

The bridge is not to be proud of because nothing that highlighted here are about the length and the rainbow lighting. Just a bridge for motorists to cross over to Madura island, there are two lanes in one direction one for motorcycles path and the other for vehicles and no stopping along the route. Not allowed for pedestrian to use or stop by to enjoy the sea and the scenery. Nothing attractive for tourists to come here. Recently I went to Batam which has similar designs, the Barelang Bridge but there are paths for visitors and local to take photos to enjoy the sea and scenery below. At both ends are barren and undeveloped. If you are lost here difficult to get taxi, or Uber or Grab to help you out.

Nothing special, literally. It was just another bing and long bridge thay will cost you IDR 60k to go to the other side and back again. Once you cross to the Madura Island, you can try the famous Sinjay Duck. And again, there was nothing special, just another greasy and salty fried duck. The price of the duck is so cheap compared to the money you spend to cross the bridge.

Madura was very poor and only living on making salt and catching fish. Now that a long Suramadu bridge in place between Surabaya and Madura, a lot of opportunities arise

connecting bridge between the island of Madura and the island of Java, the location is to the north of the city of Surabaya, you can reach it via Jalan Kenjeran (East Surabaya),

I still remember for the first time I wanted to try Sinjay Duck when it was not yet in the city of Surabaya, I along with our friends drove to Madura Island, to the Bangkalan area to queue up the delicious super duck food,

at that time the bridge had not been officially opened, there was no street lighting, access to the island of Madura was still free, I remember those beautiful moments with friends.

I recommend to take a boat from a nearby port (there are lots of fishermen ready to take tourist for 150.000 rupiah per boat), the boat will take to to the bridge and you will be able to take great photos and enjoy the sea scenery

The bridge is the destination. So far the longest bridge in Indonesia so it's a must to try just to traverse the bridge back and forth from Surabaya. Would be well worth it if you have some spare time to travel deeper into the Madura island and visit its towns. We traveled there in the afternoon, people said it would be beautiful to travel at night with the lights out and everything and on the way back to see the city lights in Surabaya landscape from the bridge. Would be good if there's a designated place for people to stop for a while and take photos though. We took a taxi from our hotel, the round trip fare + toll road tariff all in all up between Rp 150,000 - Rp 200,000.
