This is a market where the locals do their trade. It is not a high-class brightly lit supermarket with utmost cleanliness, and there are dark alleys and corridors within the zinc-sheet market. However, it is these places you can exactly experience the local trade culture.

This place is a clash between the Chinese and the Islamic part of Surabaya. Locals buy and sell many of their much used products here. We were here quite late so all the chickens were already sold, but the sales carnage could be seen all over the floor, as chicken feathers could be seen throughout the market. Stop by here if you want to see the big cultural differences in Surabaya. If you first go the the Chinese part first and then to the Islamic part. You'll be amazed by the cultural richness of Surabaya. For someone who loves to see the real culture of Surabaya, then the market is must see.
