This floating market located on transportation museum (museum angkut) in Batu Malang. The entrance fee for this market is free. The market was not too big, but clean and there's many choices of food especially Indonesian food, such as batagor, nasi jagung, soto, pecel, siomay, etc and the price also reasonable. Not only food... we also buy souvenir here. Here you can find small boat to ride along the river for free but you must paddle it by yourself. If you afraid, you can rent larger boat with driver for IDR15.000/person.

Floating Market is called Pasar Apung in Bahasa Indonesia. Floating market is part of Museum Angkut. located in Batu city, 2 Km from Downtown. Floating market can be accesed by using public transportation in bahasa (mikrolet). Floating market is free to access, but if you wanna access the tourism destination in Floating market it's called museum angkut you need buy a ticket, IDR 50.000. In floating market we can find Indonesian foods and handricraft. I think Pasar apung was adopted culture from Pasar Apung in Borneo.

After visiting Museum Angkut, we will exit at this place. It's not very big but we can find all kinds of indonesian food. We can also buy some souvenirs such as clothes and handycrafts. At the center, you can find Museum Topeng. Which is a great place to see all kinds of mask from around the world.

Great food (snack) selection, but limited for the food. A little bit dark (more lighting needed) but the price are right (not too expensive). We went there early at the boat-shaped restaurant, but some of the foods are empty, at 8 PM all the foods were gone.
Best to arrive there at afternoon (before 7 PM) so I believe more scenery & food are available. Get around first to check out the different food variety, than have your meal.

This market is in the parking area of Museum Angkut and yes, it's a good option to find foods here. You can find any kind of foods and souvenirs here. You can try to eat at Cheng Ho restaurant if you want to eat at a proper place or you can buy some local snacks around the market. Don't forget to try to ride the boat.

This place is like in thailand floating market. Here you could taste any kind of Indonesian traditional food from Java Island, and Borneo Island. Even you can take home traditional snack like fruit chips, ladu, etc. In additional you could shop some souvenir like tshirt, bags, keychain etc. Dont forget to have new experience rowing a boat by yourself or be rowed by a rower by paying Rp. 10,000.

what time is the best time to visit the Floating market? Is it open the whole day?
Written April 8, 2017
The floating market opens from 12.00 till night. I guess the best time to visit is around 17.00. You can get the scenery when it's not yet dark and after that, you can get the scenery when it's night.
