Put on your list if you visit malang, many tourist only city tour look colonial building like cathedral , ijen street , and pecinan ( china town).this is i recommended for you i hope is usefull for you trip :
1. Sempu island 80 km southern malang rent a car or going by group will be saver for your trip
2. Coban rondo 30 km western to batu if you stay at helios hotel look local transportation call " mikrolet" line ADL ask the driver to landungsari station and then look mini bus bagong and you must say where you want to stop in coban rondo
3. Bale kambang
Malang tanah loh pura its look like with tanah lot in bali in smaller scale. Location 80 km southen malang
4.coban pelangi
Coban pelangi is ine of waterfall at malang located at eastern malang at tumpang. you have rent a car (4wd) cause it located midle of forest.and if you like can continue to bromo n mt.semeru only 1-1,5 hours . You will present beautyfull view as long as trip sometimes you can see java eagles.

My friends and I went to this place for the first time to explore Malang region in East Java. The local suggested us to visit Balekambang and it was awesome. Five hours driving from Surabaya was tired enough but all of us happy when we saw this fantastic beach view and ocean view. At that time still summer and we did sun bathing there.
This place is fully recommended and beautiful. Many street food restaurant there and the infrastructure is okay enough. The entrance ticket for local and international tourist are affordable IDR 15,000 per pax. This place is enjoyable.

1. No public transport for reaching this beach, you must rent a car or motorbike
2. Acces to this beach is quite good, with asphalt road and good view, also enough sign road
3. IDR 15K for entry fee, IDR10K for car parking
4. It has beautiful sand, amazing island, good wave, nice vibe

The Pura (Temple) looks like Tanah Lot at Bali. It was my first time seeing big waves at Balekambang Beach. You can only swim near the small island where the temple is. We was advised not to wear green when visiting beaches along the area.

Went here by motorcycle from Malang that took 2 hours. The road was easy to follow cause there's many signboard pointing balekambang beach. Entrance fee was IDR 10000/person. The beach was beautiful with its white sand...actually not too white...kekekekeke...but its fun playing around this sandy beach. On another side of balekambang beach there's little beautiful temple where we can enter for free but donation accepted. The view from here was stunning. Woman that pregnant or having their monthly cycle forbid ro enter the temple.
No need to worry about food..cause there's so many food stand, cafe, toilet, and tent or sheet for rent if you wish to sit in the sandy beach without worrying about your clothes become dirty.
The most annoying was so many seller that approach us when sit on the beach offering their stuff... just say no politely..they will walk away...but the other will come again and again...kekekekeke.

Its more like. We go to bali to see the Tanah lot. I feel here is more nature and beautiful. You will still can see some of the villager who is hindu's is pray there or if some of their family is dead they pray there , they burn the body and bring the ashes to this beach and pray, and put it in small .'perahu' and let the water and wave take it to the ocean.

We went from Malang and that was a long drive!
Very nice beach but little too much trash everywhere!

It was End of Ramadan time and there was plenty of people celebrating the new Muslim year, the atmosphere was super, they had one side of the beach for party and at the end for dinning and living, nice little patch of paradise.
Stayed at a small Inn that was located to the very end of the beach which was just perfect and cozy plus far enough away from the party, clean rooms and washrooms, good food also in the same building, will visit again next year.

Local government must promote the beaches which were located on south side of Java. Local government must improve the facility to those beaches like road wide, lighting, destination direction, public transportation etc. For tourists who dont have knowledge of Malang area (Malang map and road), I think its better to use local guide to maximize time of visit and panoramic hunting.
I think those beach are good as travel destination, They offer quiet or tranquil ambience. Sea wave is OK.
