To be honest, it's quite relaxing here. The air is refreshing. If it possible, make sure you entered from gate 2 (west side, near the post office) because (the information I got) almost all facilities is gathered there, like bicycle rent, transport to go around...More
It is not really a big park, you can circumnavigate it within an hour's walk. It is also Indonesia's first and foremost botanic garden. It has 87 hectares of beautifully kept trees, plants flowers, lawns and ponds with. It is also a world famous institution...More
It was fun and refreshing. Clear air, green and so exciting place while we are enjoying the old trees, river etc.
At least once a month we spent time to do some activities there. Kids were fun. And one restaurant should be enough to satisfy...More

Botanical garden is a rare thing in Indonesia, so this one is on my recommended place to visit list. The area is huge with so many tall trees as natural canopy to make you feel the fresh air and covered from direct sunlight, clean and...More

If you are going to be in Bali for a while I think you can easily skip Bogor's botanical gardens. If you live in Jakarta, it's a nice escape but Bali has tons of natural beauty and places to walk so I don't know that it's worth the hassle of getting to and from Bogor due to traffic, etc. Plus you are right about the weather - very likely to be rainy but you never know in this El Nino year. It could be a gorgeous sunny day.
I will have a full free day in Jakarta during the week of Feb 9th and would like to visit Bogor Botanical Gardens. I would be happy with a group tour, or an English speaking guide but neither is really necessary. Any suggestions regarding tours and/or transportation from a downtown hotel?

GoodWords, hello and welcome to TA forums! Unfortunately all organized tour groups and bus offers that you may jin are CANCELLED at the moment due to low demand. The thing you can do: hire a car+ driver for one day and visit the Gardens on your own. You do not need any guide etc, as the history of the Bogor Botanical is well described in many on-line resources and walk through the garden itself is easy. Hot and humid too, of course.... For rents a car + driver you can check Blue Bird...More
2 weeks trip to Indonesia and Malaysia (45 Replies)
Hey guys! I'm planning an individual trip to Indonesia and Malaysia soon and below you'll see a plan for my trip. Those who have time and know Indonesia and Malaysia pretty well, could you please look at my itinerary and see if it is reasonable and if it's really possible to do everything I planned in two weeks? Thank for your advice and comments :) (PS: I like active holidays, including visiting various places, not staying in one place for 10 days, and I'm a nature-lover) Day 1 (26...More

Hey vvytukas, To be absolutely brief: your plan is way too hectic and dependable on absolutely perfect timings with some naive mistakes ( like beach expectations in Jakarta) which makes it unrealistic. One local flight delay or cancellation ( or you missing flight due to the traffic, for example) turns your planning into the avalanche of unfortunate events...
