We spent two days in Villa Bukit Batu aka Villa Bukit Ciherang, very close to the waterfall. Accommodation is pretty basic but clean. There is a restaurant on site with great local menu and also outdoor activities for kids like flying fox, rope bridges and strawberry picking. There is also a camping ground on the site. The waterfall itself was pretty crowded in some spots, but we managed to find a quieter area, great for pictures and splashing with the kids. On the way up to the waterfall, there’s a ‘tree house’ or ‘rumah pohon’ where you can take a gorgeous picture of the view almost a thousand metre above sea level. The place is getting more well known amongst the locals, so as a result, litter is a problem in many parts. But the villa management is doing a great job keeping the area clean. Bins are provided at various convenient spots but it is a shame that many people don’t bother to use them. Overall, if you’re looking for an outdoor adventure with kids for the weekend, this is the place to go. It is about 3-hour drive from Jakarta. There’s almost no reception for mobile phones so another great way to keep both adults and children from their gadgets and bond.

The place is extraordinarily beautiful, but to get to this tourist spot, the vehicle must be in really good condition because the road is uphill and some of the road conditions are not good, but after arriving at this tourist spot, it all pays off with its natural beauty.
