What a view! One of my favorite spots in Bandung. Yes, early is best if you want to beat the crowds. But in the afternoon, when there's not a cloud in the sky and the sun hits that ridge just right, these hills sing!

Do not have high expectation of this place. About 17-20 km alway from Harris hotel where I stayed, and it took me about 45 minutes to reach there on Saturday morning by car. The last section is either you take a motorbike ride up which you have to pay (I think it is expensive, Rp 50,000 for just 2km of distance) or you can take a short walk, in order to reach the cliff.
I had chosen the latter. It turned out to be rewarding because along the way I can enjoy the scenery of countryside, the farm lands, farm houses at the valley, etc.
Good scenery at the cliff area and you can enjoy a good view of the city. Other than this view nothing much at this cliff area. Some paths for short walking but not so extraordinary. For me, visit once is enough.

I stopped by today with a private driver, only to find something amiss when the base for ojek’s (near Warung Bandrek & start of a very steep uphill road) was empty. We thought might be due to the light rain & that it’s already 4pm ++. Our driver drove beyond the base (which is not the usual practice) and dropped up practically at the proper start for a 800m climb up to the cliff. It is extremely slippery & muddy. Upon arriving at the entrance, the gate is closed and a huge poster shows that it is under renovation til about 2018. There were several banners hang at the ojek base & the start of the climb but we just didn’t notice it. See the photos for more info. Moral of the story: don’t waste 45 mins going there for now.

I did this in the morning at around 9am, it was not crowded, so good time to go. Its a steep long walk, so i hired a motorbike, although without the driver, i had my guide who did the riding and we were able to do this at my pace, stopping snapping pics and that. Beautiful views and countryside outlook, recommend this place, allow 2 hours from the point and take your time enjoying the views, walk or ride!

to see sunrise and sunset.... GOOD....
to visit in the afternoon with cloudy weather.... GOOD
to visit in the afternoon with clear sky and hot weather.... think twice

The area is in the mountain and it will still feel the heat from the sun if the weather is clear, but u can get the best photo from it...

The road to reach the place is quite tremendous, the car only can reach bottom (pay 10k for parking) and you continue by OJEK (50k return trip or 30k one way), it took you approx 5-10 min by ojek or maybe 45min - 1hr walking up hill.... (good luck).

I enjoy the motorbike, coz i play motor trail too... but my wife said, the road is scary and need to be fixed....

overall, you can visit this place...
Entrance fee for local 12k and foreigner is 4x of local...

We reached the bottom of keraton cliff about 4.30am and walked up. While the motorbike offered to drive us up several times (20k rupiah/pax), we declined because taking the motorbike will be uncomfortable. Both of us haven't exercised for months but yeah, with our driver's guidance, we managed to walk up at a slow pace (45minutes). To be honest, walking is a good experience because you get to enjoy the plantation you walk passed and sense of satisfaction is great when you finally arrive at the top. Once you're at the carpark area (loads of motorbikes waiting for customers at the left side), there's only one obvious path up. Just keep walking, until about 30-40 min up (you'll walk pass houses and smell animals), there is a left and right path, take the left path up. You'll reach the admission booth soon.

As the path is rocky and steep, please wear comfortable, thick sole shoes that can protect your feet. Admission fee is 12k rupiah for local, 52k rupiah for tourists. I thought that was a huge difference. Anyway, the views are really good. Nobody else was there that time, we were early so we took several pictures. I enjoyed being in the moment. People started coming in slowly then. Sadly, we didn't see the sunrise even though we reached around 5.15am and the sunrise should come up around 5.30am? I think it's because it's a cloudy day but frankly, we couldn't tell where east is. It's still worth it though.

a nice place to see sunrise or sunset in bandung. They have repaired the road here so you can have safe and comfortable travel.

Onyl for foreigners, they have different prices. so it best if you think about it first.

Part of the fun is the ride up the steep road to the entrance. The road is now paved. It’s a breathtaking view of the crack in the earth’s crust. Great viewing point and do take your drone. They say early morning is best before the smog and mist clouds the view. It has clean and safe walkways and no hustlers.

We are amazed with the landscapes here, with mountains. But we must rent a motorbike to get here, instead of bus or car. When you reach the top, you could be pleased with all efforts spent.

It's always my purpose to get the fresh air during my visit to Bandung. And Keraton Cliff is one of my favourite. We can get fresh and healthy air. In addition we can have a cup of coffee. Nice.
