I stayed here for one night with my family. It's been such a long, long time since I got back here. In my old memory, I had a good experience, but now everything is different. The Hotel keeps expanding the recreational. They have a bunch of recreational such as a couple of hot springs (they just made a new one, too), a waterpark, etc. But what they really need to take care of is the resort, especially the bungalow. It is really, really old. The smell of mold or pipe is bugging us all night *it smells like a s**t. Everything inside is old, even the furniture. The small park close to our bungalow is old, rotten, and never taken care of. The hot pool near us is dirty, and it is dangerous for kids to play in because it is so slippery. They really need to upgrade it. The service is ok, and you need a car to get here because the location for everything is far away.

Very dirty. Lots of plastic bottles on the upper stream. When I came to the bottom stream and was about to soak my feet, I got surrounded by a bunch of smokers offering feet message. Then I saw a candy wrapper at the bottom of the pool. Obviously, I went back all the way up and get the hell out of this place. Locals seem to think that just because it’s outdoor, it’s okay to smoke while soaking their feet. If you want to soak your feet on trash water and surrounded by smokers, this is the place to go.

The hotel provides bungalows. The guests who stay in bungalows free to enter the hot water pool. There are trees, hot water river, water falls and the restaurants. The road from Bandung is winding in the middle of tea plantations. However, the road is busy in the weekend.

i'm affraid anyone will regret it if not visited this place when we went to Bandung city, West Java. Here is the nearest place (from Bandung city) for you to recreation, relaxation, and swimming in the hot water that actually comes from the 'Tangkuban Perahu' crater. Not like the other hot spring that was in other cities in Indonesia, this hot water is actually natural from the crater and contains sulfur (sulphur) that of course we can simply smell its scent. Located at a highland among tea plantations as well as its cold of mountain air, we were really enjoyed to soaking in its (39-42 degrees celcius) pool. As we know hot water can be a very pleasant relaxation media and the sulphur can soften the skin. Anyway, hot water in this place is not only in the pool but we can find them too at private soak rooms, small rivers surround it, even we can also play mini rafting at the other side of this place. You can reached this place within 45 minutes drive from Bandung city toward the north, passes through the 'Tangkuban Perahu' mountain & recreational park. We were not worry about coming too late because several pools in this place are still open until nearly midnight. With a very spacious parking lot and also hotels & bungalows those many many many spreading around this place, we never felt worry about staying.

Although it looks promising it is not. Do not go there as it is a waste of time. There are a few hot springs where you can put your feet in but that is really it. It takes you 20 minutes to walk through and that is it. You can spend your time better

This Water Park and Hot Spring is in Bandung (Ciater - Subang ) in West Java, about 150 Kms. from Jakarta. This is a very big park, also known as Taman Wisata Air Panas Alam, It has few small water falls which attract visitors to have bath, have fun, eat, drink and spend time.
There are lots of sports and leisure activities in this park like fishing, high rope, mini-train, water cycle etc. See picture for all kinds of activities. The problem is that apart from paying heavy entry fee, you have to pay hefty charges for each individual activity. There is a Hotel and resort too, where you can stay for longer holidays.
Nice place for kids, but elders may get little tired.

Unless you plan to go for a dipping, it's just like an outing at a waterfall area. Just saw a kid urinate into the water. Imagine those people at the downstream....Not worth at all..

We stayed at the Sari Atar for two nights . Our rooms were located in the main building where the reception is located. We found the rooms to be large and spacious.
One of the highlights staying at this hotel is the luxury of choosing to either have a dip at the hotel poolside or to walk 100 metres towards the waterfall vicinity. The public also have access to the waterfall area for an entrance fee of rupiah 20,000 per pax. Hotel guests also need to pay this entrance fee.
At the waterfall area, there are many natural pools which receive constant flow of hot sulphuric water from the waterfall. A few of us found a quiet spot to sit and dip our feet in the natural pool and we were surprised by the hotness of the water and it took us some time to be accustomed to the flowing hot mineral water.
A bonus we had was that we had foot reflexology service by the many young men there. We paid a standard fee of rupiah 40,000 for 25 minutes of foot massage which we found to be soothing to our feet.
As we were staying at Sari Ater Hotel, we did not bother to use the toilets at the waterfall and returned directly after our foot massage to our hotel rooms to shower and change for dinner.
We will definitely stay at this hotel again during our next visit.

Booked into the resort for the weekend. It was busy , but that's what made the experience so unforgettable . The rooms were clean. People were friendly. The facilities were good. The massages in the water was excellent. Plenty of food.

We went during peak seasons and it was overloaded, and we saw some black substances flowing around in some of the hot spring specially for feet only. The hot spring does make us feel comfortable, but visiting the place during peak seasons is not the right decision.

I think we need to distinguish between the tourist area Sari Ater and some hotels, spas, b&b with name Sari Ater.
Are there any public buses from Bandung into Sari Ater?

Здравствуйте! Мы будем останавливаться в Джакарте, как самостоятельно добраться до этих горячих источников? МОжет где-то есть поближе к Джакарте или с простым подъездом? Будем пользоваться общественным транспортом.

Hi Irwan,
I can answer some of your queries.
Ciater is the national park on top of the mountain. It is an active volcano and you can really smell the sulphur in the air. The cost is 35,000 for a vehicle. It is free for locals but 300,000 for foreigners (without Indonesian citizenship card).
The top is nice, there are a lot of restricted areas which is a shame. At the top, on a clear day you get a great view and there are lots of photo opportunities. Also there are several stalls selling food, drinks and touristy gifts. As always, if you buy, always pay approximately 40% of original asking price. Go to Ciater during the day only, at night it all closes and you wont be able to see anything. There is no visible magma or lava.
Sari Ater is a resort, about 5 - 10 km away from Ciater, which you pay about 50,000 to get in. That gets you into all of the public areas and a few public pools / waterfalls. There are a few semi private pools which you have to pay an extra 20,00 - 50,000 more for. I have been told that this place is open all night and is very nice at 02:00 with a cool beer in a warm pool but I have never done this!
Hope this helps!

Hi keo
This is not a private hot spring. Locals come here too.
Come by the evening and its less crowded.
The private hot springs i know are in japan. They are called onsen. It was an interesting experience as i was in Nagano and it was cold. But Japan have their own rules and etiquette too if u wanna go their hot springs.
Sorry if i cldnt answer. But have a good trip nevertheless. Feel free to ask me anytime.
