This a very special place in Bandung done with a master plan complete with so many arts created by Pak Nyoman Nuarta. At the entrance you will see some of his sculpture collection, on the second floor his paintings and other products and the third level is actually a sculpture garden. This is an amazing garden with theatre stage, more sculpture and a restaurant. If you sit outside you can hear a loud noise from a natural waterfall located at the end of the restaurant building.

I didn’t think much about visiting a art gallery in Indonesia but I was nudged by the positive reviews on Tripadvisor and that visit turned out to be one of the highlight of my 5 days Bandung trip. Admission of Rp 50k per pax (Rp 25k for children). The beautiful sprawling compound offers a respite from Bandung’s urban sprawl. We didn’t expect to spend 3 hours at this place but we did.

The whole Nyoman experience is held here with the harmonious blend of architecture, nature & sculpture, very different from if I were to view a Nyoman piece in any other museum. In impressed with how the architecture blends with the natural surrounding & the thoughtful selection/design of the furnishings like gate, door, tables. The Nyoman collection offers an artistic interpretation of the Indonesian politics, culture & history.

We redeemed the Rp 25k admission at the scenic eatery that offers several rice dishes at Rp 55k, which means each dish only cost Rp 30k plus taxes. Go for the fried duck/chicken dishes rather than the nasi goreng ones as they provide more value for $.

NuArt though not fully complete, is a very nice place to spend an hour or two relaxing away from the noise of the city and the crowds. The artwork in the gardens is pleasant, the gallery art a little more hit and miss and the café is well worth a visit, banana fritters and cappuccino highly recommended.

Mr Nyoman Nuarta is a very well known sculpture artist, his excellent work has been displayed in many places throughout Indonesia. NuArt is a gallery that is very enjoyable to visit with your family, including young children (maybe Elementary students and up more suitable). Inside there’s a cafe and a nice coffee shop that serve good coffee and one of the best Bebek Bengil in Bandung. Overall I really enjoy my visit there with my son, and will not be just once.

Nyoman Nuarta, the guy behind mega project of Garuda Wisnu Kencana actually has his very own museum. I have been here twice and still love the ambiance. This place shows sculpture work made mostly from metal, copper, and brass. His works are amazing, and the park is such a perfect place to have a walk waiting the sun to set while sipping your coffee at the Copper and Brass coffee shop. One thing in my opinion, I wonder if this museum set Gamelan Bali instrument all over the rooms it would become nicer.

On the way to the park, there were already few interesting sculpture. There were sculptures everywhere in and out of the gallery, and all describe so much word...some eerie figures could give you some chills and some would leave u in awe...so much feelings and emotions come with all the sculpture. Love it!. Can't wait to see their current project on the statue of Garuda Wisnu Kencana.

Back to my home in Bandung, it's a good thing to have a sculpture park in my neighborhood in Setra Duta Residence. Since the real estate's area is extremely large, we need a facility like this for the residents. When for me it's like going to one of the neighbors, if you want to visit it, from the main gate of Setra Duta (where there is a giant statue of a hand), it's about a five minute drive to reach this sculpture park. (Setra Duta itself is not very far from the Toll Pasteur or the Husein Sastranegara airport). Inside the park, there is a museum of sculptures and paintings by Nyoman Nuarta (an Indonesian famous sculptor who specializes in making giant sculptures, e.g. Garuda Wisnu Kencana in Bali, Jalesveva Jayamahe in Surabaya, etc), craft boutique, cafe and workshop. The cafe offers Balinese and European cuisine, equipped also with a bar. If you want to try the Balinese menu, their "nasi campur Bali" (Balinese mixed rice) and "bebek crispy" (crispy duck) are delicious. In addition, the man in the cafe (Agus) always gives a warm welcome to the visitors.
