We have heard and read a lot about this museum and were looking forward to our visit. It was a long weekend, so we were stuck in traffic for a long time before we arrived at the museum. When we arrived at 2:30pm, the guard informed us that the museum closes at 2pm on Sundays. We were very disappointed. If... More

Geology Museum is the great place to educate visitors not only education,, geology, volcanology, but also educating to be disciplined. This big old building is very interesting to see, also. The sign "do not touch" seems trivial but many visitors are still blind meanings. I could see many people were touching and no strikes or compensation of indiscipline. Discipline is... More

Forgive me Indonesia, but for a museum-lover like myself I often find myself disappointed by Indonesian museums. So this one was a very pleasant surprise! The geology section had some really great specimens and interesting displays. Most of it was in Indonesian but I could figure out a lot of it just by the pictures. The natural disaster section upstairs... More

This museum has a great collection, the fossil of Tyranosaurus from Smithsonian Museum. You can learn a lot about geological and vulcano to find out about our history of civilization.

Though not very well displayed, kids, teen and parents would at least learn something from this museum, be it archeology, pre historic migration theory and even tsunami.

Unfortunately the museum was closed the day we tried to go. However we were able to walk around the grounds. The are many wonderful and informative exhibits outside of the building that most people probably miss. These include and oil drilling exhibit, and number of displays of petrified wood, a garden on the relationship of the three types of rocks... More

This was quite good but very crowded when we were there. Also for non-Indonesian speakers, it is worth noting that only some of the signage is translated into English. Still very interesting to get a sense of Indonesia's geography and geology and paleontology. There is also an earthquake simulation platform that seemed to be very popular with school children.
