Strategic location, pretty old and historical building, few exhibits (too bad the Dino section was under maintenance while we visited the museum). There were some parts of the museum looked like under lighting and the AC not working well, but in the other parts looked more modern with cool AC, good lighting and modern exhibits.
Please keep improving the museum as it will be useful for the future generations to come.

We visited the museum when it was already closing time. So we really didn't get to explore much. But the elephant artifact at the entrance was impressive and huge.
I think this is a better museum than the Gedung Sate museum which is just a 5-minute walk away. If you're visitng on a Sunday, make sure you'll be there before 2pm. Visit the Geology museum first before the Gedung Sate museum.
I think the Geology museum is closed on Mondays.

Went to the Geology Museum, paid 3000 rupiah (around 20 cents) for entrance fee, I wasn't expecting much of this museum at first. But when I entered the museum, I was wrong. The museum offers a very wide range of information regarding to Geo subject in Indonesia. I bet if you're a student and you really read all those information given by the museum, you'll get an Outstanding mark for your geograph subject!
It is air conditioned and I think newly renovated.
Downside : the ticket booth is somewhat located at the souvenir shop which is not near the museum entrance. Pls consider to move the ticket box near the entrance or at least at place visible.
Also, the lift for stroller or disabled are not working. Pls repair them because I travelled with my baby, thus I can't go to the 2nd floor :'(
Overall : very good but can be improved

Do not go to this place if you are ever in Bandung. Although we didn't expect much from this museum but it was a total waste of time. If you were just like us trying to find a place to avoid the early afternoon heat from the street, go find youself a cafe. Anywhere would be better than this boring museum.

Pretty good for an Indonesian museum:
Downstairs there's a lot of fossils crammed into a space too small for them, including a giant turtle, T-Rex and some pre-elephants. Upstairs you've got some exhibits that look like they could be interactive but you can't push the buttons, and a small earthquake simulator that was broken - hopefully it actually will be repaired soon.
Yeah, it's not incredible, but it's cheap, the building itself is interesting architecture for Indonesia, there's some space for kids to run around inside and on the grounds, and for a museum outside of Jakarta it's much better than what I had expected. I wouldn't necessarily visit it twice, but if you're going to go see Gunung Sate it's worth stopping by here while you're in the neighborhood.

Even though the website said it closed at 1.30pm, we got there just before 12 and it was closed. Kind of stupid considering Bandung is trying to get more tourists and this is one of the famous Museums to visit

I've been to several museum in Indonesia, so my expectation is low when my son asked me to take him to this museum.
The ticket is cheap, as usual like other museum in Indonesia. But when I enter the main lobby, I was stunned. This was not like any other museum in Indonesia. The management is very professional and did a very good job. The collections are very nice with giant T-Rex skeleton and everything. Though some labels need to be replaced but it's already exceeded my expectation.
You really should come, you won't regret it.

The geo museum is located centrally in bandung along a not so busy road. There was some free parking slots for our rented car at the side lane beside the building. The main building is a Dutch colonial rectangular 2 storey block with symmetrical east and west wings with a central free entrance lobby.Inside the wings were sections for Geology of Indonesia, Human evolution history, etc. Highlights were maps showing earthquake prone areas in Indonesia, volcanology, replica skeletons of some pre-historic animals, skulls and other fossils samples.Picture taking is allowed. Intermittently, hoardes of school-children would come along and make the museum busy. Overall, a pleasant and interesting visit.

The displays were numerous and varied. However, the font size used for the sign boards was way too small and the place was not very well-lit so I found it difficult to read descriptions, labels and such. Also, one of the galleries in the second floor did not have AC and was rather warm and stuffy. Worth a visit but it would do well to manage your expectations!
