    Cooking class
A visit to Ubud wouldn’t be complete without a Balinese cooking class. Hereby you can stop your search and enjoy the range of flavors that you will experience in a familial atmosphere. Beside the cooking you will explore the different ingredients, learn about the Hindu culture and making an traditional sacrifice to honor the gods. An absolute highlight on our trip! I would recommend this workshop to everyone who loves a personal guidance given by Newman, who is a warm a lovely guy!

    Delectable Balinese Bliss
Just had a delectable experience with amazing chefs I Nyoman and wife kitchen hand Ni Ketut. From rice paddy right through to dessert I Nyoman explanations were delivered with clarity around every step and ingredient plus patience. The kitchen is a large open, clean place to work from and everything was provided for. Jeding Bali Cooking was recommended to me by others that took the class and I wish to pass on the recommendation to you in great confidence. Remember to bring along an empty stomach for your incredible feast!🙏

Amazing Balinese Food Experience in Ubud
Our group had an amazing time with I Nyoman and I Made. After touring the local market and the rice fields, we returned to I Nyoman's family home where we made traditional offerings and delicious Balinese food. They have a wonderful kitchen and plenty of space for large groups. Pickup and dropoff from our accomodation was very helpful. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in learning more about Balinese food in Ubud. I Nyoman is also opening a homestay in the coming years, and he will be an excellent homestay host. Thank you I Nyoman and I Made!

This cooking school is very personalised and is run in a traditional Balinese home with 3 generations. We had courtesy pick up from Ubud central. My husband, I and our 10 year old participated in a hands on Balinese cooking experience. We made 9 separate dishes and got to enjoy it after. The instructor was anazing in explaining how all the flavours work and cooking techniques. We felt very welcomed and at 'home'. Everything was extremly clean, hand washing stations. Clean restrooms to use. I would highly reccommend this cooking school when visiting Ubud.

My husband and I normally try do a cooking class when we are in another country to learn more about the local cuisine. This Bali cooking class was much more than a cooking class!

Our host Inyoman, picked us up from our villa and took us to a small local village market to show us the different types of materials used for their offerings and all the fresh produce etc that the Balinese use in their cooking. He was very knowledgable and was happy to answer all our questions. We then visited a local rice field where he explained how rice was grown and harvested. Helps you really see your food from a field to plate perspective.

We arrived at the cooking class location which is within his beautiful home compound. He was happy to show us inside the compound and explain how his family and the generations lived together. To our surprise towards the back was a large well equipped kitchen and a large seating area. They have done a brilliant job including this as a separate part of their home.

Inyoman then showed us how to make our own offering which we really enjoyed and then took it to their small temple to give the offering and say a prayer (if you wanted).

Then for the cooking! He explained all the ingredients and went through how we would essentially create 9 dishes! It was a lot of dishes but seemed quite easy and quick once you got stuck into it. We made all sorts! The main flavour paste, corn fritters, satay skewers, grilled fish in banana leaves, salad, fried tempe, sweet pancakes, sauces, etc.

Inyoman was very patient and helpful throughout the entire day and also stopping to make sure we got some great photos. Once we finished cooking, they prepared the food beautifully on the side as a bufffet and we sat down to enjoy.

The food was delicious and tastes even better when you can be rewarded for your efforts.

We learned so much from this experience and not just about ingredients and cooking but about the local life and culture.

If you are looking for a authentic Balinese cooking class, with lovely Balinese people in a natural environment then this is it. We recommend this unique experience to anyone visiting Bali.

Thank you to Inyoman and his family for hosting us we had such a great day!

This experience was the best my family and I have had on our trip! While all of Bali is beautiful and amazing, this spot was for sure a highlight. Our guide, Nyoman, was the most cautious yet helpful person. He ensured that we all had the best experience, as noted through the many times he would make sure we were all having fun and understanding the job.

Along with the amazing Nyoman, the house and home was so welcoming. We saw his family numerous of times while cooking and they all greeted us very graciously. Nyoman even showed us to make an offering to the Gods. I highly suggest coming and visiting this amazing place either for a lunch or dinner cooking class!

I very much enjoyed this cooking class. I did it with a tour and it was very good. We went to the market first to see all the ingredients we were using in the class. After we visited the rice fields and learnt how they were grown. We then came back to his home, to do the cooking. Before we cooked, we made traditional offerings, then we prepped the food. It was good experience to learn how to cook traditional Indonesian food. We all sat down and ate the food we made.

I Nyoman was a very good cook and he taught us very well. I learnt a lot and at the end he gave us all recipe books so we could take them home and cook the them ourselves.

I would recommend doing this cooking class if you want to learn how to cook Indonesian food.

A wonderful family run cooking experience.
You get to learn about rice farming, balinese family culture and traditions, and of course cooking.
Inyoman, the incredible person and instructor, invites you into his own home in order to teach you multiple tasty balinese recipes along side his wife whom we must also whole heartedly thank for this experience.
Course goers will learn how to make 9 dishes of different complexities, colours and flavours before sitting down to eat what you have prepared. Inyoman then provides you with a recipe book you can take home in order to help your friends and family discover these dishes.
Thank you so much, a truly great time!

Inyoman provides a fantastic, hands-on, unique experience. See a local market, keeping it very real, if you're with the morning class. Learn to make the ubiquitous offering, which was a lot of fun. And best of all the cooking experience! There were so many dishes and you get to do all the work if you want. This is not a sit back and watch experience. Learned a lot. You won't regret it, unless you hate cooking. Inyoman was very professional, courteous and conscientious about our differing needs. Highly recommend!

We had a great afternoon with Nyoman at Jeding Bali Cooking Class . We learned about Balinese traditions and visited a rice paddy to learn how rice is made and harvested. All the time Nyoman made the talk interesting. We made our own Balinese offering with flowers which was quite special. The cooking set up was really organised and the cooking process very well thought out. We enjoyed grinding and chopping our own spices and ingredients. It was really hands on but not too difficult. Dietary needs were catered for well. The food we cooked was delicious and there was a lot of i . We had the feeling it was very authentic. Nyoman enjoys what he does and genuinely wants his customers to be happy. It was a family business in the family compound and his wife was also in the picture doing a lot of the set up and pack up. It was such a memorable experience which we loved and definitely a highlight of our trip to Bali. It was incredible value for all the things we experienced. Highly recommended!

Begins with collection from hotel, educational market tour followed by learning how to make traditional Balinese offerings.
The cooking class included a very hands on experience of multiple dishes
This is a must do.
I’ve done many cooking classes before in many countries and this is by far the most personal and involved experience
Delicious food as well
Great value for money at $35 Aus
