Hands on experience that will come home with you.
I had the most amazing personal experience. Education at the market all the way through cooking a full meal. Chopped, assembled, cooked. Then enjoyed the feast I felt at home and appreciate being welcomed to this family compound full of beauty and pride. Skill, kindness and humility here

Totally Amazing - It’s so much more than a cooking class
Wow ! This is such an unbelievably good value and cultural experience. We signed up for the morning class and were promptly picked up it our villa by the chef himself. The first stop was a local market where he shared his knowledge of local produce and customs. Next to rice fields for a quick lesson in the entire process. We then arrive at the chefs generational family home where the cooking school is held. We are warmly greeted by his Mother and wife. Over the next few hours we proceed to make 9 different dishes with very thorough explanations and total involvement along the way. There is absolutely zero upselling or any other charges for ingredients, transportation, etc. After you are done cooking all the food is laid out beautifully on a buffet table and you are free to eat all of it! You seriously could not go to any local restaurant and even purchase this much food for the price of the class. If you’re coming to Ubud this should be on the top of the list - you’ll come with lasting memories

    Fabulous afternoon of cooking Ubud
From the moment we were picked up by Inyonan he was extremely information and friendly. As we did the afternoon class there was only the 2 of us and we were unable to go the the market but he took us to his rice paddy and we learned all about how the rice is grown. Next stop his home and kitchen. From then on we enjoyed cooking all our courses and Inyonan is very knowledgeable and we had so much fun. The food was absolutely delicious and we encourage anyone who wants the Balinese experience to come to this class. 5 stars for sure

    Amazing experience!
I Nyoman's cooking class was really great! We were picked up from our accommodation in the morning and from there we drove to the local market. Here I Nyoman explained everything about the ingredients we were going to cook with. Then we drove to a rice field to get an explanation about how the rice is made. This was super interesting! Then we drove to his house and he gave us an explanation about how Balinese people live. His house is really beautiful. His mother gave us some tasty Balinese snacks. Then we received a welcome drink and a delicious pandan cake. After this we first made and offered an offering ourselves before we started cooking. The cooking itself was super fun, everything was explained clearly to us and he helped with everything. Every time we finished a dish, I Nyoman's wife started preparing the food. This allowed us to continue cooking and everything was always ready for us. After cooking, a whole buffet was set up for us with all the food we had cooked. The food was delicious!! I would recommend this cooking course to everyone!

    Best experience in Ubud!
What a beautiful morning! Transport provided by themselves, made a tour of a local market to explain the products. We were warmly welcomed by his family and taught how to make a Balinese offering. We were lucky to be alone. Nyoman was amazing, passionate, funny and together with his wife she took care of everything, we felt very much at home. Thank you so much and we would happily recommend this to everyone!

    Cooking class
Everything was perfect ! It was very well organized. We started with a visit to the market. Then we made 6 Balinese recipes practically from A to Z and it was very good. The place, a traditional Balinese house, where we were welcomed was also magnificent.

    True Balinese hospitality
Best cooking class ever! So geniune and so happy to share about the Balinese culture. We booked last minute and Yoman found a time that would work best for us. Menu was amazing, we made so many dishes with similar ingredients that we can make at home. We took home the leftovers to not waste food and we left with wonderful memories. Thank you Yoman, your wife and your extended family for everything that you shared with us.

Joined Jeding’s cooking class as part of a group tour around Bali. Heading was fantastic! Showed us around the local, market, introduced us to the Balinese flavours, culture and way of life. The cooking class takes place in his family home, he and his family are very welcoming, would recommend this experience to anyone looking to better their knowledge of Bali’s rich culture and cuisine.

Dear friend,

we wanted to thank you personally again for the extraordinary experience and your hospitality.

We were in Bali in October 2022 and attended a cooking class with Jeding. First of all, I would like to say that he is not only a great cook, but also a great person who was always there for us, helpful and patient. Thank you for letting us get to know you.

The cooking class was great!

First we went to the market and learned something about the ingredients we were supposed to cook with. Very interesting and, above all, very local, you rarely visit such small markets where the local population shops. Then we went to the rice fields where we learned a lot about cultivation, varieties and traditions. The cooking class took place at home and after a small offering that we were allowed to design ourselves, we started cutting, grinding and steaming the ingredients. It was a lot of fun - the icing on the cake was the one-on-one support we received, so that we could really follow all the steps.

The pictures speak for you.
It tasted very, very delicious.

5 stars and we recommend a cooking class with Jeding near Ubud to everyone.

Amazing experience as I Nyoman takes you on a journey through a local market. He passionately explains all the local vegetables and spices. He explains how the offerings are made. I Nyoman then welcomes you to his family home and explains the home setting and family. You then proceed to make your own offering. From this point you begin to cook several different Balinese dishes. I Nyoman is extremely passionate and informative throughout the entire process. He’s fun and truly wants everyone to have the best experience. Would definitely recommend this experience to anyone wanting to experience Balinese cuisine and culture. 10/10

We were recommended Jeding Bali Cooking class from our wonderful driver and guide Ketut Widhi that is a good friend of chef Komang. We had a superb experience from pick up at our hotel, the walk and guiding at the local market, the warm welcome from his family at their home and throughout the whole cooking class. First we learned about his family and their traditions and everyday life. Then we learned to make an offering and had an offering ceremony before we started our step by step cooking class. We learned how to make 9 delicious courses, and we finished the course with eating the food we had prepared that was presented in a delicate way, like a 5 star restaurant. Thank you so much for this wonderful day! We really recommend this if you would like a great bali experience.

From start to finish, can't fault it. Inyoman the host is very friendly and knows what he's doing. Family business, welcomed me (in a Group) to his home, met his parents and wife who helped setup everything. They have a traditional home, that contains a massive semi commerical group kitchen at the back, very well made and clean. Can host up to 20 people i think.

Everything we cooked, we had for lunch with complementary fruit, water and tea.

Food tasted so good, better than any restaurant that ive been to in my last week here. All fresh ingredients, and took us to the market on the way

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

We booked the cooking class one day in advance and we were lucky that they still got two open slots for us. The communication upfront was really easy via WhatsApp.
Nyoman picked us up from our hotel in the morning and we went to the local market with him where he showed and explained the ingredients we will be using later for our cooking sessions. Afterwards he took us to a rice field where we were told how the farmers harvest their rice. Super interesting!!
When we arrived at his home he gave us some more insights of how he lives with his family and we met his wife and father. They have been also super friendly and welcoming. He also showed us how to make offerings in the temple.
The cooking class exceeded our expectations! We were lucky that we had a private class as the other guest cancelled. Nyoman explained every dish and how to make it step by step and we got the chance to prepare and recook everything. After finishing cooking we eat all the nice food we cooked. It was super delicious! We will definitely try it at home :)

AHHHH so i’m a solo traveler and no one happened to be doing this class the same morning I was but the Jeding family still went through and I got a private cooking class. Rain or shine, one person or 25, they WILL host this class every day in the mornings or night. You start out going to the markets, then seeing a rice field, and then cooking. He explains everything so well and with such passion. I had an absolute blast and my god is it a FEAST.

Will be coming back whenever I revisit Bali!

Beautiful and super interesting experience within the cooking class 🔥👨‍🍳👩‍🍳! Our chef Inyoman Sutaba picked us up from our hotel and showed us a nearby rice field. After explaining us a lot about the rice farming and also about the Balinese culture, we went to his house, where we were introduced to the Hinduism Culture: We prepared an offering and prayed, very interesting to get to know that 😊🙏🏻. After this we started cooking, which was perfectly guided by Inyoman and the women who were supporting us. While the cooking session Inyoman answered all upcoming questions and was super nice!
After we prepared the food it was time to eat 😋🤤 The food was absolutely delicious!! Afterwarda we were given the Cook Book as a PDF file as well as in paper form!

Thank you so much for this amazing afternoon! 🙏🏻 All the best for you and your family Inyoman!!

Superb, great start at local market, trip to rice paddies, then back to I Nyoman’s (chef) home to meet his family. Learnt about Balinese culture and traditions and made offerings which was an amazing experience.
He is a truly an incredible chef and so patient taking us through the authentic ingredients and cooking process from start to finish. So many dishes made and enjoyed. Rolled cake (dadar gulung) was so incredible and he also provides recipe booklet for us to recreate at home 🤩

Totally recommend
