I booked a private tour of Uluwatu Temple at sunset and Kechak dance. The driver/guide explained something about the temple; in the evening we ate on the beach, in a restaurant in Jimbaran. The driver was supposed to wait for us outside the restaurant but he couldn't be seen, we even checked in the car park. We waited more than 20 minutes, this thing is not good. He also didn't even give his phone number so we couldn't trace him.

We did the sunrise trek up to Mt Batur with a visit to hot springs, a lovely lunch and a visit to a tea&coffee plantation. Our guide Marley and our driver were lovely and helpful. Marley helped us up and down the mountain and prepared a lovely breakfast for us while we were enjoying the view!. Marley was also very informative throughout the day and taught us lots. The views from the lunch restaurant were stunning also!

Getting started on a trip of a lifetime! We are so happy to recommend Bali Eco Cycling! The whole day tour was a revelation of THE Bali! The staff and everyone we were introduced to were so friendly and helpful in understanding each part of the day’s activities, such as stopping at rice paddies, visiting a host family compound with a tour of their farm, a coffee plantation, and an ancient banyan tree. A great breakfast buffet with a view of Mount Batur, weather permitting, and a delicious lunch at the end of the ride. Bikes and gear were provided as well as rain ponchos and refreshments. Very informative and pleasant! You are going to be amazed! A special thanks to our guide Wayan!

Our Tour was a really great experience, our guide Shandy and driver Buddy were very good at their jobs, nothing was too much trouble and if we wanted to miss something out, that was ok too. Our lunch was good and not rushed. Very enjoyable.

For this journey, I could not suggest more Eco Tours. Along the journey, the guide knew the finest areas to stop and was highly informative.
There were plenty of delectable breakfast and coffee breaks. The hot springs were also a fantastic way to end the visit!

Chose the 3-in-1 Mt. Batur tour. Fantastic view of Mt. Batur and it's brother at sunrise at a cafe. Got some Indonesian cake for breakfast as well. Started hiking the black lava field afterwards, which gave us a feeling on being at another planet. After the hike, we biked around Mt. Batur through all the villages. Fantastic views and an all right bike tour. Stopped at the water temple for the last bit; to cross the lake in kayaks. Wonderful! Got to visit the water temple and also a coffee plantation with taste samples as well. Our guide was Gentur, he really made an awesome day for us. He could a lot about everything, and gladly shared the balanece culture with us.

This was so much fun! We were the only 2 on The trip so got a real private experience. Our guide (who I'm sorry, I forgot his name!) Was friendly and funny and answered all our questions around culture, even giving examples of his family. The bike was mostly easy with a few more challenging sections, though I'd say anyone who's been on a mountain bike before and doesn't mind picking up a bit of speed downhill could manage it. Defo a tour I'll reccomend to others. Thank you!

This tour is highly reccommended. The day is so diverse, riding through the villages, trying coffee, breakfast with an amazing view & finished with a beautiful lunch in the rice fields. You don't have to be an athlete to enjoy this day. I have done this tour a 3 times now, and I have loved each time.

Late picking us up (arrived at 3am instead of 2.30am).
Late leaving coffee point.
Late arriving at start point.
Ended up having to get up to the top with no guide, in order to make it by sunrise.
Our so-called "guide" never made it to the top. He had our paid for "breakfast".
Stateed our dietry requirements on booking - NOT CATERED FOR AT ALL.
After a two hour hike to the top, we had a couple of bananas.
We then had another three hour hike down, we were offered chicken or fish and had to explain everything all over again.
Their website, which we used to book, said as the first 5 to book we were entitled to an hours full body massage instead of the standard 20 minute foot massage. This was not honoured. The guy we had just shrugged his shoulders and said he was just the tour guide - zero responsibility taken.
The foot massage we did receive was... awful. To be honest. Worse I've had and actually re-injured my healing ankle slightly, they were that rough (I had recovered from tendonitis after a bad sprain earlier this year, having to have several physio sessions!)
This company is a bunch of jokers. Don't use them - take your money else where!

We had a great time with Bali Eco Tours! They made a special package for us that included a Mount Batur sunrise tour and a cycle tour in one day. Organizing all this was really easy and fast via email.
Mount Batur tour:
I think most people don't realize how hard it will be to climb a volcano in the dark. We are a couple in our late twenties, we are very fit but it was pretty exhausting! Many people climb up there every day on tours like this and I think many of them don't not know what they have signed up for. It is not at all impossible but I think it is "relatively easy" - as the website say - only for experienced hikers, even if you only go up to the sunrise point. It was not a problem for us since we are young but it could be for some - anyway, this is not as bad to loose a star from the review! :)
The tour started during the night, they picked us up at 2:15 in Ubud, we had an almost 2 hour car ride (with one stop at The View restaurant) and than a 2 hour hike up to the top. First, there was about an hour of pretty fast walking then another hour of hiking on the mountain, all in complete darkness with flash lights. We had some nice tour guides that helped us but the pace was pretty fast. The last 20 minutes were optional to get to the top instead of the lookout point. We were the only people to sign up for it and it was the hardest part thanks to the terrain and the inclination. Unfortunately it was very foggy, we did not have a clear view of the sunrise or the area but it was worth it - challenge completed! :) The hike down was of course easier but still, a two hour trekking after climbing a volcano.
If you are fit, a regular hiker and someone who likes a good challenge then go for it!
Don't forget to bring warm clothes as it can be really chilly on the way up, around 13-15 degrees Celsius.
Cycling tour:
After the descend we went for a breakfast at the wonderful View restaurant and joined a group for the bike tour. We really enjoyed the tour as it was really easy (after the hiking we needed that), informative and fun. The bikes were in very good condition and our guide was the best guide we had in all Bali. We visited a plantation, rice paddies and a local home, as well. I recommend it to everyone!

Hi, how much does it cost for the sunrise Batur tour and hot spring? Do i need to pay online in advance or pay when we get to Bali? Thanks
Written August 25, 2018
Hi, it costs 60$ and yes you have to pay at least 50% in advance. I paid through pay pal the whole amount. It was easy and safe process. Beat wishes!

How much does it cost to cycle by batur or agung?
Written June 11, 2018
Our regular educational cycling tour takes you from the Mt Batur area to Ubud, and it costs $48 per adult (there is an earlybird discount making it $40/adult if you book direct ahead of time).
If you are staying at a decent hotel in Batur area, it shouldn't cost you anything as the good hotels have bicycles for free use. Agung is a huge mountain and there is no cycling on this mountain. It is also still erupting, so there is a 4km radius no-go zone from the Agung crater.

Eind oktober vertrek ik naar Bali en wil 1 dag fietsen in de omgeving van Ubud. Word je ook opgehaald vanuit Tubar?
Written October 1, 2017
Ja, we halen ook uit Tuban.
Yes, we also pick up from Tuban.
Written October 2, 2017
hey !!I I am also planning a trip to bali. Wanted to know more about clycling tour.Which cycling tour you selected ? I s it easy and comfortable ?
Written March 26, 2016
The 'easiest' cycling tour is the Bali Eco Educational cycling tour, which is mostly downhill. The Ubud orientation tour is more of a challenge, while if you want to do a lot of exercise you can opt for the Ubud Adventure.
