This was our first tour in Bali, Wayan (our guide) was amazing and we had a great time! The perfect balance of fun, history and learning about Bali. The rice fields were amazing, swimming down the lake was great! And the absolute highlight was meeting and eating with Wayan's family. The food was some of the best I've had in Bali and the whole family were really welcoming and kind. I'd recommend this tour to anyone (in fact we already have) Thank you so much Wayan and family. A friend of mine recommended this company to do a tour of Bali as one of the best days of her entire holiday - they had Augustin as their tour guide. I think Augustin has now left the company? Our tour guide was Wayan, who was great, but it was a completely different tour than that described by my friend. My friend had let me know that at points in the tour you had to cross a river - she had pictures of water up to her knees / thighs, which I was completely fine with. The beginning of our tour started with an hour of trekking / swimming down a rough river in the middle of the jungle which I really didn’t enjoy and was not prepared for. The rest of the tour was great, no tourists around. But I was slightly unnerved by spending so long in a cold, rapid river, concerned about getting bitten by something I hadn’t thought to get jabs for. Be prepared 👀

Four of us (two couples) were picked up from our hotel and we were instantly charmed by Ayu our tour guide. She drove us about 30 mins to a village market in a rural village where we were immersed in the smells and colours on display. After sampling the local fare it was off to the trek which took in village streets, people’s homes, an eccentric art gallery, and the beautiful countryside. All the while Ayu explained the local customs and traditions and answered our many questions. The trek was fun but also a test of balance and heat resistance, especially for us Brits! There were a few slips and scrapes on the walk but overall we would not swap that for a touristy alternative any day. We emerged grateful for a view of Bali we simply would not have got otherwise. Very memorable and thank you Ayu x

My family and I booked this tour at our resort in advance and did not really know what to expect. This tour far exceeded our expectations, it really shows off why it is called 'Authentik Bali', as you will see the Bali life without all the tourists traps. Lush rain forests, breathtaking rice fields and friendly locals. Ayu was a great guide, very enthusiastic and involved. She made sure that my 74-year old dad had enough time to do the climbing at his own pace, she took great care of us. Thank you Ayu, we hope to see you again!
