Showcases Balinese painting and wood carving.
I was really looking forward to visiting this museum and viewing the Balinese paintings and wood carvings, reputed to be the largest and finest collection in Bali. The gardens and building are impressive, architecture very similar to nearby temples. I didn't manage to see all the displays, various classes, a hot day, high humidity and the inevitable Balinese penchant for steps limited my viewing. Fascinating museum and a must visit if in Ubud.

    Good collection of arts
The museum is presenting collections of traditional paintings and a touch of Sukawati family history. It was pretty impressive as many beautiful paintings are there. One thing I notice is that the place is bit groomy. They could have improved maintenance because the ticket price is not that cheap.

    Historically fascinating Gallery
A beautiful gallery of traditional and some contemporary Indonesian painting and sculpture. The different galleries are set in beautiful gardens. I really enjoyed the amount of information provided about the artists exhibited and the history of Balinese art and artists.

I enjoyed looking over all their paintings, it took me almost 4 hours to pore over every single one. I am not an art expert but enjoy learning about cultural artforms of other countries. Just by looking at their paintings and wood sculptures, you see a consistency of their values and morals, expressed in their art, that is still lived and practiced to this day.

An exquisite collection of Balinese art, that rivals European art collections in the mastery of craft and imagination. Located in central Ubud (Jalan Raya) you are greeted in the cafe with a cup of coffee or tea and banana fritters, a Balinese dessert. There are 4 buildings in a large garden, each dedicated to a different time period. I spent 2 hours but it's not a large collection.

The ticket might seem expensive, but it's worth it since I'm not usually into museums. The museum is actually pretty good to pass the time in Ubud, especially if it's raining. Plus, you get a drink, some snacks and yummy banana fritters for free!

The museum has many beautiful Balinese works of art that rival most European collections I have visited. It includes old and new works and provides a history of art on the island and explanations of what is depicted in many painting. The gardens between the buildings housing the art are peaceful and picturesque too.

A bonus was the drink included in the ticket price, which we were surprised to see also included some fried bananas – made the admission almost free. Highly recommended and I will return before I leave Bali as I ran out of time to see one of the buildings.

The art work dates back to the 1930's at the oldest, it wouldve been cool to see some older items. Nevertheless, it was beautiful and informative about Hindu and balinese culture. Lunch was included with our admission and was delicious.

It is a nice museum with garden to visit when in Ubud. Worth it. Just note that there are two types of entrance tickets, one drink included, tea or coffee for about 95,000 IDR , and the other drink and lunch included for about 145,000 IDR . So you have a choice.

Beautiful local arts are presented here. Place is not very big itself but was interesting to visit, once we stay in Ubud we really like to feel the atmosphere of the area. And museum Puri Lukisan is one of the places we really enjoyed.
