This place was not taken cared of. It's such a shame, since the paintings were amazing and the people living in this house are friendly.

The wood sculptures in this garden are wonderful. The faces and forms blend with the wood they are carved in so well it is as if the grain of the wood just pushed out a face. And the sculptures are scattered around the garden, some...More

Gusti Nyoman Lempad was a sculptor and painter and designed many of the temples in Ubud. Interesting to wander around the courtyard of his house and see his workshop etc. although this not a museum to his work.

We came upon this house unexpectedly. It was free to enter and we experienced a courtyard full of beautifully carved wood. We didn't enter the house but just the courtyard was worth the visit. There are a lot of caged birds which did make me...More

If this is really where the generations of this artist's family still live (and I suspect so given the working open but private kitchen and fridge on the side), being able to walk around is more of an insight into a way of life than...More

It was a wonderful garden and just a small part of art gallery. There are better art galleries out there. It was just so sad to see many birds in cages. I know it was not the purpose to go and see birds, but when...More

I am a huge fan of Lempad and being in his house was something quite amazing to me. His family still takes care of the compound, and it's still very much appears as a real traditional Balinese House. I do agree that there are too...More
