After a hectic 2-weeks in Nusa Dua, I moved to Ubud and had 5 x 2hr private Qigong classes with Dave.

It was a fabulous experience, I learnt a lot and Dave is a patient and very experienced teacher.

I continue to practice daily the different movements and breathing exercises, which is testimony to Dave and his teaching methods.

I highly recommend signing up with Dave be it for Qigong, Tai chi and the other disciplines that he teaches, as having spent 10 hours in his company, I imagine that he would be an excellent instructor in his various fields of expertise. I look forward to learning more Qigong in due course.

I did the 200 hours teacher training with Dave. And it was awesome. Dave is one of the best teachers I had period. You can feel the passion and the knowledge he has for teaching and tai chi. The course is really good structured and contains all the basics you need to be a teacher. I not just learned tai chi but also about the philosophy and how to apply it in my life. I understand now how body and mind works together. I can highly recommend a course with Dave for everyone that is interested in tai chi and qigong and is serious about his training.

On a recent trip to Bali I decided to try Tai Chi. I signed up for a couple of lessons with Dave and was amazed by his knowledge of the subject, his attention to detail and his incredible patience (which he really needed with me !!).
I believe I am hooked now and can't wait for my next trip to Bali and maybe try out the Tai Chi Bali Mountain Retreat. Great work Dave... keep it up!

For a long time I have wanted to visit Bali and decided to join the Thi Chi Bali Mountain Retreat. I had a truly wonderful and magical time. Not only is Dave West is a very gifted Thi Chi teacher but he also put together a thoughtful, inspiring week of leaning, adventure, relaxation and fun. He patiently taught me a set of basic Thi Chi forms which I now practice at home. In addition to gaining a lot and improving my health from doing Thi Chi, I thoroughly enjoyed the adventure of traveling along the back roads of Bali, passing though small villages, seeing a funeral parade, stoping at a hot spring, hiking though an old jungle to a temple, paddling a dug out canoe across an incredibly beautifully lake, talking with people and seeing and experiencing the magical beauty of Bali. Ii can wait to go again and highly recommend Thi Chi Bali retreats

Hi Mary, thanks for your review. You mean Tai Chi not Thi Chi. Practice everyday if you can to remember the moves you learned on the retreat. The 24 Forms is very popular and you should be able to find a Yang Style Tai Chi teacher in your home country to help you continue your training. Remember if you don't make time for exercise, then you have to make time for illness!! Best of luck. See you next year.

Well, yesterday, at lunch time, I finished something I have been meaning to for 30 years or so. I took my first steps towards learning more about Tai Chi and Qigong. I joined Martin and Dave for a beginner level Tai Chi retreat in Munduk. The serene beauty of Munduk, combined with the patient instruction by Dave, made for a very positive learning atmosphere. If you have thought of learning Tai Chi but never got around to it, just do it, believe me, it's never too late. Whether you are on holidays in Bali you live here, signing up for a Tai Chi Bali retreat is something I can recommend.

So I think I spent most of the 4 day retreat saying, "Oh my goodness, this is amazing!" The sights, the Cottages we stayed in up the mountains in Munduk, the bushwalks, the canoe trip across the lake.......... oh, and of course the Tai Chi! It was my first time to Bali and I was there for the sole purpose of the retreat. I was not disappointed. I didn't just learn the Tai Chi forms, but also learned a lot about 'Chi', the philosphy behind Tai Chi, how to assimilate the teachings into daily life, Chi Kung, breathing techniques, meditation and how to be one with nature! Dave our instructor was patient and generous with his time. His enthusiasm permeated the group in all activities, and through this experience I was able to foster close friendships with others on the retreat. I'm saving for my next retreat now!!

Dave is an interesting, down-to-earth Taichi & Qigong expert. I was a beginner when I joined his mountain retreat to learn Taichi/Qiqong. I loved it. He took us to the Munduk Village where we trekked in the beautiful nature and practiced the art. It was a great experience. Dave shares lots of experience on yin & yang philosophy and offers a different perspective. His teaching is recommended.

Dave does a great job in the beginner's Tai Chi course of combining work on the fundamental elements of the discipline with just enough study of actual movements to keep a beginner engaged. This seemed to me to be the perfect balance for someone who is serious about learning Tai Chi for the long term. His studio in Tabanah is the perfect environment to learn and the rhythm of the 20 hours (over 5 days) was well thought out to provide the right balance of intensity with frequent breaks for recover and reflect. Highly recommended if you are serious and committed to studying Tai Chi.

Together with a friend, I decided to do the 5 days mountain retreat at the end of our Indonesian experience. This turned out to be a great decision. The mountain region surrounding Munduk was unlike anything I had ever seen before: such beautiful nature which you can enjoy without all the tourist you find in the south of Bali. Dave is an amazing teacher. For us, it was the first time taking tai chi lessons and Dave perfectly adjusted his lessons to our beginners-level. Next to the teaching, Dave is a great guy and I really enjoyed spending time together. I'll definitely come back to Bali to visit this beautiful region and meet Dave again.

Dave is a master of teaching. He has a gentle intuitive way of guiding you through both the theory and movement practices of Qi gong. We had 2 private lessons with Dave, he came to our hotel and we had the lessons on our balcony. The classes with Dave were the highlight of my travels. Dave's teachings are like pieces of gold settling within your mind, body and spirit. Don't miss the chance to learn from him when you visit Bali!!!!
