My Happy Place!
Feb 2020
I turned 50 in December and what I wanted more than anything was to return to the peace and tranquility of Bali and practice yoga at my favourite yoga studio, Intuitive Flow. I love this studio. I find it much more peaceful and tranquil than the studios in Ubud. There is a vibe here that you just don't get at those big over-crowded studios. I attended 50 classes in just over 60 days. They have a number of types of classes from the Pranala (which is not very physical so keep that in mind if you are looking for a physical class) to great hatha flow classes. They now offer a number of meditation and yoga nidra classes in the evening which are also fantastic. Sandi leads an AMAZING flow which is the most physical of all of the classes I attended. He does a great job modifying for those who want something more gentle. He also convinced me to try Yin for the first time and I loved it! Novia is also an incredible instructor. Her gentle class is gentle enough for beginners but she keeps it moving so that intermediate students get a good sweat on! Nina leads a nice gentle class which would be particularly good for beginners. Although not currently on the schedule I have to give a mention to Rhaya. She was there as a fill-in the first month I was in Ubud and her classes were exceptional. She has the unique ability to combine the spiritual and the physical in her classes. I hope I get the opportunity to practice with her again in the future. The only thing I found a bit frustrating were the late-comers. If you are attending a yoga class either a) be on time or b) wait until the beginning meditation is over before coming into the class. I would suggest that the desk staff ask the late-comers to wait until we start to move to come into class as it is quite disruptive when you are trying to meditate! I can't wait to come back next year!

really the title says it all. if you want to do yoga, this is the place. this is how (1) yoga is supposed to be, (2) yoga instructors are supposed to be, (3) a yoga shala is supposed to be. i am forever thankful to linda for this place. (ps: even if you are not serious or enthusiastic about yoga, go for the heavenly 5 min walk from alchemy and the magnificent view and the lovely ubud lady outside who smiles and sells jamu every morning and the kids who play with crabs in the rain...)

Great yoga studio with an amazing view! Since I am a new beginner in yoga, I felt really comfortable going there by myself and was really pleased with the session ‘Basic Yoga’ with Mariana. She was very understanding regarding my aching foot and very pedagogical for all the exercised. The rain came and went during the class which made it even more relaxing. Can really recommend this yoga place and class if you’re new to yoga and want to practice it in Ubud! (It’s a bit hard to find, follow the big stairs)

I loved the classes with Rhaya and Purnama! These teachers are incredible teachers and i always felt fantastic after their classes! Rhaya has a special energy and warmth that she brings to the class, she is an excellent instructor and does magical adjustments. I also loved Purnama and his energy, smile and laughter at the end of the class :)
Thank you to bringing such great energy to the yoga practice, you are appreciated so much!

I had a class here on Monday - the Novia gentle flow. I have done Pilates on and off a while back but never yoga - it’s something I wanted to try for a while so whilst in Bali, of course take the opportunity! I was clearly the only person in the class with zero yoga experience (from looking around at first arrival, everyone warming up with movements they knew, and myself just quietly sitting). as soon as the class started any nervousness I may have had were put to one side. It was made clear you can work to your own abilities and as we went along suggestions were made for adjustments you can use if you can’t do something, or things you can do if you’re more advanced. If you can’t do a movement, you just rest and wait for the next one - without feeling judged or self conscious, it’s very much about your own goals and focussing on yourself, mind as well as breathing and movement. The instructor walked around the room and would help with subtle adjustments or quiet suggestions to help align better. I was able to do nearly all the class with only a couple of movements where I just rested or made them a bit easier and felt at ease to do so. It’s given me the opportunity to see the benefits and I will certainly start classes back home and begin learning. The views are also amazing and help relax your mind.

We took a couple of classes here during our stay in Ubud, solid instructors in a top notch yoga space. The view is of the treetops with the sound of birds chirping in the background. The studio is cooled by fans and the breeze.
additionally, the schedule is online.

Highly recommend intuitive flow and the yoga teachers who teach at this studio.

I love the class with Nevin and Tya. Really happy with Nevins style of teaching, he knows his teachings well and is very calming and inspiring. Tya also sings and gives blessings during the class which makes the class extra special. I always feel fantastic after the class! My business partner who is very picky about the classes/teachers he does yoga with absolutely loved it too!

Also love Nina's class, she is a great teacher with positive energy and a big smile.

I bought the 15 pass and it was excellent value.
I also love the location, it has a beautiful natural view and you can see butterflies, birds and squirrels outside of the studio while you practice yoga. Sometimes a bird will fly in while you practice or a big gecko in the room, making it even more special!

Will definitely continue coming back! Thank you again to the great teachers!

This studio was recommended to me by a fellow traveler so I had to check it out! I went to a Yin session from 6-7PM. The studio is tucked away on top of one of the hills in Ubud and is so beautiful. It was so quiet and peaceful and had an incredible view over top all of the trees. The class I did was led by a husband and wife who sang during the entire practice. It was so incredible, I have never experienced anything like it. I wish I was staying in Ubud longer so I could take another class here.

My partner and I took a few classes with Nevin, which we loved. If it matters to you, Nevin appears to be a native English speaker with a North American accent, though he lives in a small village about an hour outside of Ubud. His wife Tia is a Balinese priest, and she provides musical accompaniment during the classes — she has a beautiful voice, and her presence significantly added to the experience. Their classes focused on yoga as a spiritual practice, not just an exercise, and being in their presence was both calming and uplifting. The studio itself is beautiful with open views, and I was pleased to see that they offer classes at a significant discount for the local population. The studio is set up for 20 students, which isn't too crowded, and mats and props are provided. Many of the folks from class will walk over to the nearby Yellow Flower Cafe, which I also recommend. Thank you, Nevin and Tia — we really enjoyed practicing with you.
