About
The Campuhan Ridge Walk is arguably the best known Ubud trek and with good reason. The sparse crowds and the aesthetically rich vistas remind one of why people from around the world come to Bali. The trail starts at the historical origin of Ubud, the confluence (or Campuhan) of the Wos Rivers.

I’ve done this walk many times now & always find it a great walk. Wonderful scenery with lots of sights along the way. The walk is evolving every time I come with many little warungs, stalls & swings popping up along the walk.
I look forward to enjoying a nice cold Bintang at the Karsa Cafe & I always book in a massage at the Karsa Spa which just completes the experience of the walk.
Finally, I always catch the Karsa Cafe golf cart back to central Ubud which is an experience in itself, cost 100K IDR per trip.
This walk should be done at least once when in Ubud & preferably before 10AM to avoid the midday heat.
The walk takes about 50 minutes from the Ubud Palace & is about 3 km to the Karsa Cafe, the trip back in the golf cart takes 15 minutes.

A great experience. This roughly 10km long walk offers stunning views and is a must visit when in Ubud. After about 6km you hit a small village where you can refresh and buy water. I recommend to go around 5pm, cause you will then reach by 5:30pm a plateau for sunsets which are stunning. You can also go earlier, have a massage and then enjoy the sunsets. Enjoy!

We arrive rather late in the morning, enjoying ourselves too much at our hotel breakfast.
Expect a bit of escalation, total walk is around 2 km with a few Instagram-able spot along the way. Walk is overall enjoyable, with jogging and meditation activity by local as well as international traveler, there are also warung’s available for breakfast of coffee.
Sun block/screen is recommended if you start the walk from 8 am onwards, do not rush to the end, just enjoy the scenery while making your way to reach the end of the walk.
Recommended to drive motorbike instead of a car - parking spot available at SMK Pariwisata Putra Bangasa (Weekend or when there is no school activity)

Can't say enough about the ridge walk. One of my favorite things to do when in Ubud. Expansive sweeping views of different shades & textures of plants. Such a beautiful way to escape the hustle & bustle of Ubud. I feel a wave of peace washing over me when I'm here. Highly recommend getting here early in the morning as the sun can be a bit draining during the middle of the day. Cafes & refreshment available along the way. Highly recommend experiencing this at least once if you're in Ubud!

The entrance isn't really well marked and you actually seems like you are going in a hotel driveway before you veer off to the left. Really nice walk with some amazing views a!omg the way. I ended up amongst some art shops which I assume was the end because it turned into a road that cars drove on.

Nice walk with pleasant views of jungley terrain.
Would recommend going early in the day or towards the evening to stay out of the mid day heat. Would also recommend bringing water and wearing shoes (or at least sandals that are secured on your feet).
Would not recommend brining children that can not do a light hike on their own. Would definitely not recommend trying to push a stroller up this rocky dirt trail (hilarious watching a a family attempt this). Would not recommend flip flops.

We did this walk early in the morning! I would say the best time because it’s the coolest and the sun coming over the ridge was spectacular. If you keep walking far enough there are some homes with small businesses. And if you keep walking farther there are some open rice fields that are stunning with the sunlight hitting them. There are a lot of Airbnb here to stay in that look gorgeous. After we complete the walk we went to where it started and turned right and walked all the way into town. This was a very manageable walk which was just very slightly uphill on the sidewalk by the road. There is a beautiful walkthrough where the cars go that have vines hanging down. I would highly recommend this walk as it is so peaceful in the morning.

A very pleasant walk.
The end is not clearly marked (there is a sign on the Kaza Spa wall denoting the top). This is just as well, as we discovered a gem just 200m past it. The Raditya Cafe is a family run cafe overlooking the rice fields and is a brilliant place to have a drink before turning around

This is a short hike up with a beautiful view of the sunset. It is a nice walk if you want to go out and get some fresh air, but the scenery is a bit boring during daytime. The suset, however, was amazing. You have a full view all around you and to watch the sky change colors like that is just breathtaking.
Strongly recommend a walk up there.

Go early as it’s uphill from the Warwick end. We left at 8 and it was hot then, coming back around 10’there were people just starting and I felt for them cos it’s going to be really hot.
Stopped at the Bamboo Kitchen for breakfast which was lovely and worth the effort.

Hi, can we do this walk partly with an electric scooter? just because 2 hours to go and come is a long time

There are stairs at the end of the walk where it turns into a street, so if you scooter is light and you can carry it over the stairs, then yes - it's possible.
The walk is not 2 hours. It's about 30 minutes depending how fast you do it.

Yes, free if walking, I was there in August and noticed cars having to pay a fee to drive closer to the village end of the ridge walk which maybe what people are referring to, I noticed that scooters and people on foot weren’t being charged. This is at the keliki village end, from Ubud you just start the walk from the temple.

Is it a steep walk? Long story short some dogs chewed my shoes beyond repair so I only have flip flop now. Is it safe to walk with only flip flop?

Hello. If I only have maybe 45 minutes to go on this walk, would it still be worthwhile? Would I just walk for about 20 minutes or so and then turn around and walk back, returning to same place near the resort and bridge?

Or you can walk the trail and have yiur driver pick you up at the end of the trail by Karsa spa. It took us about 45
minutes to walk there.

Hello,
How long does it take to do this walk, round-trip?
Thanks,

Hi there, it took us about two hours to do the whole walk (return), including stopping for a drink (at Karsa Kafe) and photos. It depends on how fit you are and how long you spend stopping for photos, etc. Bear in mind most of the walk is uphill not in the shade, so try to do morning or afternoon when it’s slightly less hot. Take plenty of water and use sun cream! Enjoy :)

hi, do u mind to let me know, where is the entrance into campuhan ridge walk. I still dont understand when u said the entrance is by the Warwick hotel. Do u mind to let me know, please?.... tx u
Good views and good exercise - It’s a nice walk (some people bike, run, etc.). We walked it around 9:30-10:30. One way took us about 40-45 mins. I did see some people do it in flipflops which could work but I would recommend closed toe shoes with some traction. It’s muddy, especially after it rain.
One thing to note, the entrance is by the Warwick hotel....

I’d recommend getting a taxi to Karsa Kafe and walk towards ubud rather than uphill
