We had to see the waterfall because it seemed to be high on the list of natural sights to see. But in retrospect, I'm not sure it was all that great and I'd much rather have spent another day biking the rice fields or doing...More

Tegenungan is a very pretty waterfall, and there are lots of funny interesting boards you can take and click pictures with. So the overall experience is fun! Not much of trekking to reach either, and one can have a humongous coconut on your way for...More

It’s a really nice waterfall and very easy to get down there. But once you have to come up it can be a bit challenging. So make sure you wear comfortable shoes, light clothing and probably swim wear if you are interested in having a...More

There is a waterfall, you can take photos, rather unimpressive. To get to the actual waterfall you need to walk along way on a very difficult path

Nice waterfall view but we did not dip in as we did not prepare any clothes when we visit this place. However this place is still great to just listen to the water splashing and pouring down the cliff, great surrounding scenery and you have...More

Accessible easily by taxi or bikes, the waterfall is simply breathtaking . Once there, you have to descend stairs to get to the waterfall. Mind you, its quite a climb. Wear your most comfortable shoes. Lots of photo ops at the waterfall and along the...More

Whatever you feel is best - but be wary, there are 167 steps on uneven, sloppy ground. You need to be sure footed.

Hi, it’s very close to Ubud place in Bali. So you can hire a cab and plan accordingly.

June 2017 - Proposed Itinerary (6 Replies)
Hi, My partner and I will be traveling to Bali this June for 2 weeks. We are in our mid-twenties, earliy thirties - most likely be backpacking. Haven't ironed out our accommodation needs yet - most likely airbnbs and/or really nice hostels. If we could find inexpensive but nice hotels - we would love your recommendations too. Here's what I have drafted so far. Would love your feedback and honest opinion. I always have the tendency to squeeze too much in since there's so much to see! ...More

How are you getting to the Gilis? If you're going from Sanur you might as well tag the waterfall onto your Ubud activities so you can just stay at Uluwatu on your return without having to backtrack. Unless you're flying out very early in the morning you won't have any problems getting from Uluwatu to the airport. BTW, Denpasar is mainly a commercial area and not somewhere tourists normally stay so you might as well add the night you arrive onto your Canggu stay to give you time to relax...More

Day trip from Sanur (7 Replies)
Hi, we will be in Bali in late June, staying in Sanur, and my daughter really wants to visit a waterfall.I was thinking that we might do a day trip to Candidasa, and was wondering if it is feasible to visit Tegenungan waterfall on that same day, and if so, what else is worth including around the same general area(we don't mind if it's a full day, but don't want to be unrealistic either).Any advice will be much appreciated, thank you :)

We are spending 10 days in Sanur in June too and are wondering what day trips to plan. Have been to the volcano in the past and bought lots of art around Ubud on two trips before. We are interested in beautiful gardens, rice paddies etc. Any ideas please for us and for KasaGirl too of course
Advice on Bali Itinerary (7 Replies)
Hi, I’m in the early stages of planning a solo first trip to Bali for February. I’ve been poring over this site, guidebooks, and blogs, and discovering that’s there’s a lot to do in Bali. I’m having a very difficult time coming up with an itinerary and I’m hoping to get some advice. Before Bali, I will have a 2-day stopover in Singapore and after Bali, a one-day stopover in Tapei. The Bali part of my trip will include a week-long yoga retreat (7 nights) at the Hotel Komune in Keramas. I...More
