The day started at 10.00 so I was collected from my hotel in Ubud at 9.30 - no extra charge. We were a mixed group of ages and nationalities - Australia, UK and China - but we all worked on our individual pieces and got on well. Instructions were clear in good English and Widya's team were at hand to... More

My daughter and I were picked up from our villa as a free service and taken to Widya. We were shown how to do the batik then given a picture to practice on. Then we could make our own design or use a transfer. I did my own design. We were able to order lunch which was very nice Balinese.

My sister and I both signed up for a class while traveling in Ubud. A driver picked us up from where we were staying and took us to Widya's. We learned the basics of batik making and with the help of his wonderful staff created a wonderful batik.

I would highly recommend this class and will definitely do it again next time I'm in Ubud, in fact I'd like to do it over a few days. A Balinese family business, kind patient teachers and they went out of their way to drop a Batik that we had left behind off at our Villa the day after the workshop... More

What a wonderful way to spend the day! It was so nice to get creative under the expert guidance of Widya and his staff. You can do as much (or as little) of the whole process as you want. There's always someone on hand to help you out if you get stuck. Tasty, cheap options are available for lunch and... More

Thanks to the talented team at Widya's Batik who introduced us to the intricate and brilliant art of batik. They were great coaches and instructors who helped us create one of a kind designs. You can use one of their awesome stencils or freehand draw. After guidance, they let us run free but were ready to help ensure the wax... More

We originally planned to go diving but we called off last minute due to bad weather condition. We contacted Widya's batik very las minute and weren't expecting any replies. (We don't recommend doing this though as it causes inconvenience for them) However, the owner replied promptly and sent out a driver to pick us up from our hotel in Kuta.... More

I had a lovely time here, instructors are very patient when explaining the processes involved in completing a batik. Batik making is not an easy thing to do as attention to detail is a must (and for 5 hours!!), but when you see your creation at the end then every drop of sweat is worth it. Having said that, the... If you come to Ubud and you do not do this, you are truly missing out. I have been here for a month and a half and this is without a doubt the best activity that I have spent my money on! The class was about 450,000 rupiahs and took me about 4 hours. However I was only there with... More

I had a lovely day under the guidance of Komang. He explained the step by step process and how the colours will change throughout the process. I was able to work at my own pace without feeling pressured to hurry and had time to stop for a nice lunch of chicken and rice and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Highly recommended.... More
