We had the best time today at our cooking class today. We were welcomed with a refreshing drink and information about the home we would be cooking in. We then learnt about the ingredients we would be using. All the ingredients were explained to us and alternatives suggested if not available back home. We then got down to the food prep and cooking. We prepared the food using traditional Balinese methods, each explained along the way. We then sat down to eat with a lovely view. After we finished we learnt how to make a Balinese puddings. All our food was yummy and there was even some left for a goody bag. We also took home a recipe book which we will definitely be using when we get back home. We had an amazing experience at the cooking class and would recommend anyone to take part. Puspa and the ladies helping were all so friendly and made the experience very enjoyable.

A wonderful welcome by Puspa into a traditional Balinese household and a wide range of dishes made from scratch using traditional methods (with some very helpful kitchen assistants). A memorable tasty experience that will impress friends on my return!

Wow! What an experience! Paon Bali Cooking Class is an amazing experience when visiting Bali. We were visiting the island for our honeymoon and wanted to learn more about Balinese culture and people. This classes did that and more. You start the day visiting the local markert, where you learn about how the Balinese people shop and what is important to them in the kitchen. We had the chance to taste local fruits that were described to us before tasting. From the market, we went to the class and we visited rice fields on our way. The class was in the Balinese typical home compound. There were around 25 people in our cooking class. Our host was amazing and hilarious! Everyone got a chance to prep and cook food. There were over 5 people in the kitchen, helping with everything we did. We made a total of 6 dishes, all traditional Balinese food, from scratch! The food was sooooo delicious, we coudn't believe we had made it all. At the end, we received a cookbook with all the recipies to try at home!! Highly recommended experience. This is a fun and affordable way to get to know Balinese culture and people.

We started the morning with a tour of the local market and our guide Made was friendly and informative. Made then took us to rice fields near the cooking school and explained how the rice is grown and harvested before we were welcomed at the cooking school with a refreshing drink and an overview of the Balinese home, design, orientation of the temple and sleeping quarters etc. The owner Puspa then explained the day and was warm, engaging and hilarious. We were a small group of 6 and had a great time interacting, learning, preparing and cooking together. For a four hour class there was the right amount of preparing, cooking and instruction and the food was amazing. Having done several cooking classes in different countries I found this very good value and a great half day experience learning not only about local food but also about the Balinese culture.

The food of Bali varies a lot. What we prepared here with the team and a few others was delicious and looked like being prepared by a chef. We're proud on what we mastered here. We got here by taxi as it was not close to our resort. It took a few hours and we had from fish to chicken and side dishes that made me smelt. I love food and what Bali prepared here, what we prepared here, I won't forget that afternoon. You also learn about the history and traditions, a good mixture of culture and cooking. Join ;)
