Aunty Puspa is truly amazing… You enter her home and you feel like you’re in Real Housewives of Bali. The house in itself is magnificent and the. There’s the outdoor kitchen space which accommodates the group nicely with all the different cooking stations.

We learnt a number of dishes when we went and had a feast for lunch.

Upon my return I wanted to put my skills to the test and I can honestly say it turned out fab.

Really enjoy the class and the end result is delicious.

I’ve attached pics of the yellow curry I made at home. Definitely go, if it’s possible.

This was one of our best experiences during our trip in Bali. With a small group of 8 people we cooked a lot of different traditional dishes. The teacher explained everything very well and clear. She also knows how to entertain the people which creates a very comfortable and cozy setting. If you want to escape the sun and beaches, this is a very good and nice alternative!

This was such a fun experience. Our cooking teacher had a vibrant and fun personality which just added to the experience as a whole. It is about $30AUD/ person, which is worth it, as you use locally sourced, quality ingredients, and get to cook approximately 6 balinese dishes and then you get to eat the dishes at the end, as well as a delicious Balinese dessert with tea or Balinese coffee. I would highly recommend this experience regardless of your cooking skills as she talks you through all the ingredients and techniques and guides you throughout the experience.

We felt welcomed from the moment we stepped into the traditional house.

The class itself is complete and interesting, very well timed and explained.

The best part was that it is not a show, it is an experience: we touched the food, cut, chopped, crunched, mixed fried, plated, everything from A to Z.

The place is neat and well equipped to cater groups up to 12.

Even the kids (6 and 10 yo) contributed actively during the class (to me it’s not a class but a sharing moment).

Cooks and host were generous, patient and very knowledgeable.

In my opinion it is a genuine immersion into Balinese culture.

We had the privilege to visit the private temple of the host, with all the explanations linked to this very special place.

Again, not to be missed.

Expect to spend a good 3 - 4 hours as you will end up eating what you prepared!

We had a wonderful time learning to cook Balinese dishes at Wayan and Puspas home. They were so welcoming, fun and energetic. You can tell they truly love what they do and their energy is infectious. Great sense of humor and joy that makes everyone feel at home.

The market tour was interesting and gave insight into the local produce and spices. The short rice paddy tour also gave some insight into rice production.

The class was really well run and the kitchen has been built to purpose for groups to learn the dishes. Everyone gets their turn to chop and prep vegetables, cook all the different dishes and learn the process. As they told us at the end, we did all the cooking and they just guided us along. Everything was very relaxed and enjoyable.

Delicious meal at the end, complimentary tea, coffee and filtered water. Plus the pickup and drop off service. You also get the recipe book to take home.

Highly recommend for all skill levels for a fun morning of cooking and learning.

Ibu Puspa and her team are so lovely and helpful! My partner and I had a private class, and they helped us to cook enough food for 5 people (plus dessert afterwards!) Everything was tasty, and the yellow curry and steamed tuna were especially good. They picked us up from our accommodation, gave us a tour of their traditional Balinese house and provided a recipe book for us to take home. It was great value, good fun, and it felt good to support a locally owned and run business in the wake of the pandemic.

This was the best thing we did in Bali. Puspa and her husband are the most incredible people we have come across on our travels. They are very accommodating and honest people. The class is worth every penny, the cooking aspect is very fun and food is even better. Would highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Ubud. You get to make 7 different dishes and get to take a recipe book home as well to try make it at home.

This class was an incredible experience and one that we will remember for a lifetime. We started the tour at an authentic market and enjoyed seeing the copious amounts of fresh fruits and vegetables. Following the tour we went to the beautiful cooking space and got to work. Our personal cooking instructor was wonderful, full of knowledge and culinary skills. We learned how to cook traditional Balinese food and then had the pleasure of sitting down with others to share a lovely meal. We left with a signed cook book so that we could attempt to recreate this meal and memory. We highly recommend this cooking class to all of those with a sense of adventure and the desire to illuminate your tastebuds to some local cuisine.

The cooking class starts with a visit to the market, which is great as you will start to know about the local food and ingredients - you can also purchase spices that in Europe might be difficult to find.

The cooking class is superb. You can join it even if you are alone, as you will be paired with other people doing the same class - nice to chat while cooking, it makes the experience richer.

The staff is super kind and the explanation is very easy, around 2 hours of cooking with joy literally fly!!

And then tasting your own food is the cherry on the top. This cooking class is totally recommended! 😋

We started the morning with a tour of the local market and our guide Made was friendly and informative. Made then took us to rice fields near the cooking school and explained how the rice is grown and harvested before we were welcomed at the cooking school with a refreshing drink and an overview of the Balinese home, design, orientation of the temple and sleeping quarters etc. The owner Puspa then explained the day and was warm, engaging and hilarious. We were a small group of 6 and had a great time interacting, learning, preparing and cooking together. For a four hour class there was the right amount of preparing, cooking and instruction and the food was amazing. Having done several cooking classes in different countries I found this very good value and a great half day experience learning not only about local food but also about the Balinese culture.
