Only saw the outside - impressive
Sep 2019
Tuesday 17th September we were out sightseeing and exploring the sights of Ubud.

This Hindu Temple with its impressive entrance is situated in the main street in Ubud

The building was closed as we passed, so we could not go in, however, we did stop for a few minutes to admire it's impressive exterior.

There were notices outside the Temple advertising a dance performance of the Keack & Fire Dance.

From memory the tickets were around 100.000 rupiah, roughly £6.

We just enjoyed spending a few moments to admire the outside of another wonderful structure in Ubud

Special temple&most beautiful Legong dance in Ubud
Aug 2019 • Couples
The temple is located on the Main Street of Ubud, (Jl Raya Ubud), at about 600/700 meters from the center (Ubud Palace), not far from Campuhan Ridge Walk (bridge/ Pura Gunug Lebah and it is one of the most beautiful and special temple seen.
Don’t miss, also, the most beautiful and spectacular Legong dance in Ubud, with very professional dancers, every Tuesday, 7,30 pm (100.000 IDR/ pers), by Sekaa Gong Karyasa.
And at about 200 m from the temple, you can find Murni’s Warung (our preferred place to eat in Ubud) and Blanco Museum.

A different kind of temple
Apr 2019 • Family
Bali is a land of temples, temples, temples, but this one is a Pura Dalem, which means "death temple". So it's different than most of the other's you will come across.
The Balinese believe in a balance of good and evil. And that you can't truly appreciate the good, without also recognizing the evil.
Here you will find statues of many many demons representing this "evil". Most notably, Rangda, the demon queen. She has long fangs, dirty dreadlocked hair, a sagging bosom, and is often displayed holding a baby (her favorite thing to eat!).
This temple is located in central Ubud. So if you are staying in the area, it is easy to walk to. It's on the western end of the main road, Jl. Raya Ubud. Across the street from Lazy Cats Cafe.
The temple gates are set a bit back from the road, so you may miss it if you aren't looking for it. But once there, the beautiful staircase leading up to them will call your name.
Entrance is 10,000 IDR and includes sarong rental. The grounds are not huge, so you can see it all in about 20-30 minutes.
I believe that they also have traditional dance performances at night, but we did not attend one.
This place is definitely worth a visit in my opinion, especially if you are already in the area from doing one of the popular rice field walks or the Campuhan Ridge walk.
