We recently were in Bali for our honeymoon and went on both the cycling tour and the white water rafting with Mason’s.
I would highly recommend the company they are very professional, the guides are all knowledgable friendly helpful and make the experience great fun!! The cycling tour is all downhill I’d say accessible to all and you can walk some sections if you want to! Great chance to see the local scenery in Bali!
The white water rafting was the best thing we did in Bali, so much fun, with severely professional and safe instructors compared to other companies where there have been recent accidents. Special shout out to Jackie our white water rafting instructor he’s amazing at his job!

All the trips have a lovely meal included and water etc as needed!
Book on and enjoy

Volcano tour, white water kayaking, jungle buggies, elephant night safari with dinner under the stars. Absolutely epic day from start to finish. Worth every moment. Had our own private driver from 7:30am (pickup in Seminyak) to just been dropped off at 10pm. Ubud is 2 hours away (the elephant lodge). Amazing experience. The guides in every area were beyond brilliant, food amazing and were in three different locations. Definitely recommend kayaking over the rafting for those wanting a bit more adventure! And the jungle buggy guides could definitely learn to drive a little faster but I suppose they’re not as used the the insane driving of a cowboy from the west! Brilliant, amazing. Epic day.

Went for white water rafting on my own. The company is super organised, pick up on time by the driver, car is clean.
Lockers provided to keep personally belonging, clean toilets to shower to refresh ourselves.
Lunch venue is cleaned and tidy. The food not bad too. Only plain water provided. Order serapate beverages at own cost.
The rafting journey takes about 2hours, it's super fun for 1st timer!
Be prepared, need to climb down and up stairs!

Sorry for the long post and I have tried to be fair and give positive feedback where I can but unfortunately this experience has some opportunities for development.
We were happy with the experience at the elephant sanctuary, which included optional washing, feeding and riding of elephants. There was also an enjoyable lunch as part of the package. The whole experience took about 2 hours and then there’s not much to do, it took less than 30 minutes to look at the museum though it was very interesting.
Not so good was the transport in a small older model minibus/people mover with broken springs in the seats and which was packed to capacity on the journey to the sanctuary.
Being the smallest of the passengers I was asked if I would occupy the middle of the seat in the row behind the driver. I spent the 2 hour journey in a lot of discomfort on broken springs and pushed up next to my husband by the large passenger on my other side - this is not a criticism of the other person who was very tall and large boned - this vehicle was just not big enough for 6 adult passengers to travel in comfort.
The return journey was disorganised. Having returned to the reception area of the park at the time advised for departure, we saw one of the couples who arrived with us from the same area, boarding a bus which had empty seats. We were told we weren’t on that one and we had to wait up to an hour as another couple travelling back on our bus had arrived on a different bus an hour after we did.
So finally we’re on the way in a packed bus again and the driver tells us that we need to meet another vehicle because one of the other couples is staying in a different area and needs to be transferred before we can continue back to our hotel.
I realise that the care of the elephants is a priority and is costly but given the price of the whole experience, I think some attention should be given to the comfort factor of the vehicles and the effective scheduling of passengers.
One final call out for both journeys is the drivers taking and making hand held mobile calls on some of the very winding roads.

Thanks for taking the time to put together your review, Lolly. I'm glad to hear you guys enjoyed your time at the park, but I'm sorry that there was an issue in regards to the transport. I've since spoken to our company transport team, apparently there was a mistake on the schedule, and in fact you guys were actually supposed to be on that first bus with the other guests.. Secondly, the vehicle with the seat with the broken spring should have been reported and not used until it was sent to be repaired and returned, in accordance with our transport standard operating procedures. I wanted to thank you for bringing this to our attention and wish to assure that we've now taken the necessary steps to help make sure an issue like this does not reoccur in future.

Completely ruined my honeymoon.

Tried to book on their website twice, both times failed. PayPal payment went through and they took over $250 and won't return the money.

Avoid. Currently trying to go through PayPal dispute process and they deny receiving money despite it leaving my bank and being in PayPal as successful.

The experience itself was not very bad. However, the staff in the park doesn't care about the guests, many of them don't speak English at least to understand the guests' needs.
I was very disappointed with the Jumbo wash. It is described as an individual wash of elephant but in fact you just pay 120 US dollars just for few pictures with a water hose in your hands near poor elephant. I expected at least 20-30 mins to see the elephant so close to me, to have some connection for a moment, without rush and hysterics from other guests.
I was picked up from my hotel on time, dropped in the park and nobody explained the program. I was alone. I was sent to the elephant wash. I took off my sneakers and was waiting for my turn, since some other people were doing washing. I started my washing and literally in 5 mins some lady came and started shouting at me as I were taking too much time and this is their slot. I asked the staff about the procedure and schedule? They just laughed at me. Well, that lady and her grown-up children were quite aggressive. My mood was completely ruined. I left the place and came to the feeding spot. I was looking for a supervisor at least to clarify the situation, but I have to notice nobody paid attention on me. The staff pretended they don't understand English. Basically my first day was destroyed. Later on I was offered to wash an elephant again, it sounded like a provocation. Nobody said sorry. I would say this place is not friendly for the guests.

What a fantastic day. Great driver to Ubud three guides to 8 cyclists. Equipment was great. Guides were informative, funny, and safety conscious. Learnt so much about the Balinese culture as we cycled through rice paddy fields, visited a home of three generations and discovered the history of the island. Filled by a yummy lunch. Thanks for a great day! Thoroughly recommend this tour.

Did white water rafting with masons yesterday. Overall really good experience.

Got collected on time from hotel and picked up a other group on the way. Smooth journey

Arrived and greeted by friendly staff

Taken down to rafts and river. These guys are the only ones with cameras of rafts

Our guide was amazing, friendly and funny.

On exit had to walk up steps to their base. Had lunch which was included. Lunch was amazing

Now, the reason why it was 4/5. Seeing, picking and buying your photos was a mess. It was unorganised, the guys didn't know what they were doing and photos really expensive......

Overall, would recommend it. Tips

Water shoes, dry bag for phone to take pics and video

Our boat Capsized within the 1st 10 minutes of the white water rafting ride, around 10:50am of March 7, 2013. As we were rowing with the river current, the guide failed to steer us to the right passage causing the raft to get stuck between two large rocks and the boat to capsize. Another rider and myself went overboard and was swept away by the strong river current. I hit a large rock directly on my left thigh and legs. The other rider sustained bruises and injuries. The rest of the riders struggled to remain on the boat amidst the rampaging waters.

The other rider and I were swept downstream for about 10 meters until we were able to swim to the river bank. When things have calmed down, I noted that the 3 remaining riders were now standing on top of one of the rocks where the boat got stuck (my wife would later recount to me how she was shivering in fear at that time) while the other rider and I were catching our breaths on the river bank. I then realized that I had a throbbing pain on my left thigh. The 3 riders were eventually rescued by another boat and taken to where we were waiting.

Realizing the trauma my wife just went through and the pain I was starting to experience, I had asked the tour operator to end my tour and get me and my wife back safely to the vehicle. They said that there was no way for me to get back to the vehicle except to finish the rest of the 2-hour boat ride. The guides assured us that the rest of the ride was “easy”.

It was not.

I had to go through the rest of the 2 hours in agony. There were 2 or 3 times when I asked the guides to let me off at the next stop – they said YES but did not do it.

At the end of the ride, I thought my ordeal was over. I tried to get out of the boat but realized that my thigh muscles have contracted and I found it painful and difficult to walk or apply weight on my left thigh, and then to discover that there was a 600-step stairs flight up the hill that I had to go through to get to where the vehicles were waiting. It took me about another hour to get to the top at the rate I was climbing.

The accident resulted in a fracture on my left femur. I have discovered new cuts, bruises and swelling on both legs that I have not noticed on the first few days.

There are things to be noted about this tour:

1. There was a 600-step walk down the mountain to get to the boats.
2. There was a similar walk up the mountain from the boats to get to the vehicle.
3. The tour did not have any emergency medical personnel nor any evacuation procedure in place on the river portion of the tour nor on the 600-step climb up or down.
4. The river was deeper and the water current was stronger because of the continued heavy rains brought about by the monsoon. It was in fact, raining hard on the morning of March 7. The tour operator should have considered canceling the tour because of this.
5. Their website claims: “Whether you are 5 or 65, a natural or a novice, our white water rafting in Bali ride is safe, fun and a breathtaking experience to be enjoyed by the whole family. “ After what I have seen, I would not recommend this to a child, elderly or a novice rider/swimmer. If it was my wife (a novice swimmer) who was swept away by the strong current, she would not have had the presence of mind to fight the current and swim towards the river bank. She would end up going through another “rapids” 10 meters from were I stopped.

Here is a video clip of the accident: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTkUjI4VzGI
