I took the shuttle from Ubud. The driver was absolutely lovely. I wish however I had just made my own way there as when you take the shuttle they give you a ticket to arrange transport back to Ubud and it is group dependent apparently....More

There is more adrenaline involved in the taxi trip from the airport . This is one of the lamest , tamest , overpriced tourist traps I have ever been to in 35 years of travelling. The $35 US entry fee and lunch , which is...More
Very touristy, but fun! They have photographers who can take photos when you're just by yourself. Don't expect high quality pics with all photographers though. But when you do several swings, you will end up with some nice ones for sure.

Advice needed for 14 day Ubud Itinerary (12 Replies)
Hi. I will be travelling to Bali in August for 3 weeks with my wife and our 2 young adult kids. We are all in good physical shape and love exploring and adventure. My wife and kids have all completed yoga teacher training, so yoga is a big thing for them, but definitely not for me. However, since I am the travel planner of the family, I want to make sure our trip is a good balance for everyone. We will be staying in a villa near Goa Gajah for 2 of the 3 weeks we are in Bali before heading to...More

My first comment is have you factored in how you'll get into central Ubud on day 2,3 & 6? Being physically fit is one thing, walking 5-6km each way in the searing heat and humidity on often non existent footpaths is another. And what day/days are for yoga? Yoga places are very spread out in the Ubud district....so you won't be able to wander around and see many of them on foot. Not trying to put you off, but your villa is not very well located for what you have planned. You'll find...More

This is a very ambitious list and I wonder if it's really achievable. But, why are you moving away from just about everything you want to see and do? Nusa Dua is not a good choice given your plans. You'll just be adding an extra 2-3 hours a day in the car. Why?
