I booked tickets via Bali Trips website (used Whatsapp to communicate with Wayan), and was charged 450,000 rupiah per person for return tickets. Seems like the prices fluctuates (comparing to prices listed online).
We booked the 10am boat ride, and was advised to be a the waiting area 30 minutes earlier. We ended up leaving Sanur beach only at 10.45am. The boat ride took about an hour. Be prepared to get your legs wet when you board the boat, as there is no jetty at Sanur beach. During our return, we booked the ticket for 9am, but left Nusa Penida only at 9.50am... So don't expect to be on time when you take Maruti Express.

Maruti was suggested to us by our reliable driver for Bali trip, Adhy (+6281239378353) and he drove us from Ubud in the morning to get the 10am speedboat from Sanur to Nusa Penida. We are to reach before 15 minutes of scheduled time and booked 4 return tickets bargained for 450000 per person. I think you can still bring down a bit to 400000 per person for return ticket. We kept our return time open but with a return date after 3 days. The speedboat left at about 10.30am and seats were full. The journey took about 40 minutes or so and it was comfortable. The life jackets were kept on top of the seats. Enjoyed the ride very much. The thing to remember is that Sanur boarding point has no hetty and you gave to wet your legs upto knee level to get into the boat. Hence you should put on a short if you are boarding of getting down at Sanur. However, Penida jetty has proper platform for boarding and getting down. You will not have much problem. It was a good experience. Our return time was about 35 minutes and the 8.30am service was almost empty witha few passengers.

We used the Maruti Express fast boat service from Sanur to Nusa Penida and back again. After doing some on-line research they seemed to be the safest and most reputable company but also the most expensive. We paid 400,000 rupiah return for each of our two children and 550,000 return for us. This is expenisve by local standards but did include a pick up and drop off service which we used for a pick up at our hotel in Seminyak and a drop off to our hotel in Ubud although we were charged an extra 100,000 rupiah to be dropped off at the Ubud hotel as it was "outside their usual drop off area". We booked by emailing them on-line and booked for a 10.00am departure to which they agreed in an email but then changed this to an 8.30am departure without explanation by leaving a message with our hotel reception. This meant that we were picked up at 7.00am! Also, the prices we were charged were more than the prices advertised on their website. The crossing to Penida was overbooked and the ferry over crowded with many passengers including my wife and I being left without seats. The return crossing was rough with quite large swells, the captain seemed to be travelling way to fast for the conditions, freaking the passengers out and making many of them sick. While off loading passengers on the beach back in Sanur the large swells continued to cause problems with the staff struggling to get the vessel under control. Let's just say we were eyeing up the exit points! No safety briefing at all was given. Overall, I expected more from this operator considering what we paid. I was left disappointed and not feeling particularly safe. One day a tragedy will occur I'm sure. Only plus was the boat itself (60 seater-airline style seating) was fairly new and seemed in good condition. The ferry did not run to time either.

read about previous reviews and hesitated to book at first. it’s not very good and i’ve been searching for about 1 months on the fast boat to nusa penida. i gambled and book their service online and to my surprised, really beyond my expectations.
their replied via email are fast after the booking confirmation. i asked if can pick up at my hotel at kuta and dropped off at nusa penida hotel and their replied with all the cost.
very happy as no online payment needed and all confirmation done by email. one day before the morning pick up, they texted me for confirmation. when i checked in at my hotel at kuta, the receptionist even reminded me about their pick up in the next morning.
right on time for the morning pick up, dropped off to their officers sanur to make all the payment and they drive us to the harbour to wait for the fast boat. i’m so happy with their service and very professional indeed.

Our boat was supposed to leave at August 31, 2023 Friday at 7:30am but the boat that we were supposed to embark had a technical problem thus we needed to wait for the boat from sanur that will arrive at 8:30am and we would leave at 9:00am. ETA at sanur is 9:30 to 10:00am. We decided to just cancel our ticket because we had a tour van waiting at sanur at 8:00am so we bought tix from a different operator. We tried to refund the ticket from them but the people in the counter told us that we needed to talk to 12go first because it where we bought out tix. 20days now after the incident, this operator is not honoring our refund from 12go. The operator lied to 12go that the scheduled departure was only moved to 08:15 due to embarkation issues at the boat. Twisted the story! Pls see attached. There is no such thing because the other boat we booked that moment left at exactly 7:30!

Most terrible experience on Maruti speed boat on 24th June 2023. We booked for morning 7.30 AM boat from Nusa Penida to Sanur. Boat started its sail 90 minutes late. Through out the sail it was terrifying experience. The boat took several sharp bends giving the feel of almost toppling. There were heavy sounds like "Dhad, Dhad" for every 1-2 minutes frequency as if the boat is going to break into pieces. We are grateful to the God for our survival. Never book in Maruti Speed Boats
One day before this, we have travelled by Arjun Speed boat from Sanur to Nusa Pendia which is a fantastic experience. We never felt that we are cruising in an Ocean. Crew and ground staff are very helpful and their boarding process is very very systematic and the Boat is very very clean. We strongly recommend for Arjun Speed boats , if any one plans to visit Bali- Nusa Penida. Never travel by the Maruti,

I travel with the Maruti Group - Glory Fast Boats every time I go to Nusa Lembongan. They give great service and are extra vigilant to ensure safe disembarkation on arrival at Lembongan especially when the sea is rough. They also provide pick-up and drop-off services from and to Bali hotels & airport.

This fast ferry has a floating dock to depart from nusa penida, which is better than the other company we took over.
Our tickets were held for our pick-up and no issues. Open air covered waiting area to sit at until you were cleared to walk down and board. Two clean squat toilets where you scoop water out of a bucket to flush. Luggage will get loaded first before people.

***SINKING BOAT****
Kebo Iwa Express boat from MARUTI agency
I am writing this a day after the accident which happened yesterday 03/01/2023 which saw the sinking of the fast-board named Kebo Iwa Express departing from Nusa Penida to Sanur at 4:30pm. I believe no one from this company should be permitted to be in business and responsible for other people's lives. We are lucky we are all alive!

Good evening everyone, if you plan to go to Nusa Penida, do not trust Maruti Fast Boat. We called it the nightmare crossing: departure of the boat scheduled for 3 p.m., you are installed and there for a reason that no one knows you are made to wait half an hour in a boat in full sun. 3:30 p.m., finally departure and arrival in Nusa Penida you are taken off the Fast Boat to go into a boat which cannot go as far as the pontoon so you go down into the knee-deep water with your bag and onto the pebbles. However, I asked if they docked on a pontoon, they answered “yes”. Then regarding the luggage, ours were broken, some suitcases were soaked and all this to the hilarity of the staff... a shame. In the end, to go from Sanur to Nusa Penida it took us more than 3 hours. Not forgetting that to collect our luggage, it was the passengers themselves who had to start making the chain to take the luggage down because the staff 'is installed quietly to smoke. This company is a shame because it gives a very bad image of the Balinese.
