- bgtocaVancouver, Canada129 contributionsOK beach in an unscale areaNusa Dua is the most expensive area in Bali, It's full of luxury hotels, many of them on a hill overlooking the ocean. Is the beach then as good as the hotels? Well, the answer is no. The beach has vey calm, very shallow water with no waves. The seaweed that lives on the ocean floor makes wading in the water unpleasant, so at least bring water shoes. The water is cooler than that at Sanur beach, and I think the ocean currents bring more rubbish here, which is constantly being cleaned by the army of workers hired by each of the hotels. Also, the hotels here are pretty secluded and exude a resort rather than a hotel experience.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 11, 2023
- Ingrid BThailand19 contributionsNice ViewDuring my journey to Bali by myself, I spent a day exploring Nusa Dua Beach and the surrounding area. This beach is relatively quiet, and there aren't any rowdy tourists or partygoers to be seen here. The sea is perfectly transparent, and there are numerous restaurants along the water's edge where one may unwind with a Bingtag while taking in the sights and sounds of the surf waves. When the tide is low, it is possible to walk a significant distance into the water without even getting your knees wet. Be wary, for there are lobster caverns that will appear as the tied pulls back. You may watch the fishermen as they go out and catch the day's fresh lobster right before your very eyes. I went for a swim in the ocean just before the low tide, and while I was there, I was pricked by a baby lobster. It is highly recommended that you do the complete picturesque walk along the waterfront and go to the peninsula island that is connected to Nusa Dua Beach. On the eastern side of the island of Bali is a beach that is pleasant and has not been marketed.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 24, 2023

Started with walk through Bali Collection to path heading north alongside beach. Passing that funny Blowhole (need to pay?) feature and along central large resorts like Mulia etc. Turned back when arrived at Holiday Inn Resort up top of main path. Pandemic signs apparent with some remembered resort areas shut or restaurants gone. A pretty track to walk while sun rises. No hawker sellers like alongside Kuta beach. Well maintained walking path along the foreshore. Beach is clean and our walks were mostly at low tide. No noise or people to disturb the serenity.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 13, 2024

Sand is white and clean with no cigarette butts or rubbish in it. Same for the water no plastic and toilets and some markets nearby. Alittle reef inshore to block out the big waves.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 19, 2024

Stunning beach, with stunning views, not too crowded, and locals come along to sell there Balinese souvenirs at great prices. Lovely items. Water sports, and surfing, caters for everyone.

Perfect service from all employees, especially Suwan, Leo, Deedit, Agus and Amar. They have made the vacation a perfect experience with friendly nature and great conversation!
The food is delicious at every restaurant even in the dining room (Dream of M Burger!). The on-site dishes have lots of delicious dishes and very delicious afternoon tea. Can be done with more salty foods at afternoon tea.
The villa is perfect. Maintain perfect with both cleaning services that occur at breakfast or dinner. The pool is fantastic and the jacuzzi is fantastic. The shower was at a great pressure and of course the automatic restroom was a nice touch. Excellent use of all the spaces through the villas. Extremely comfortable beds and pillows.

This was our favourite beach in Bali. WE stayed here for 7 days and loved every second of it. You can find beach massage there, water sports, jet ski rental, just avoid 5* beach bars, way too expensive. We rather choose small local places to eat and drink. Great beach!

We were staying close by so we decided to visit the Nusa Dua beach for drinks and dinner. We were immediately put off by the gates and security guards who checked our bags in the taxi and shops which looked like an Western outlet mall. The beaches were pretty but only accessible via the very very large hotels and the whole place felt like we were in Florida not Bali! It took us 20 minutes to find our way out of one the hotels to try to get back to the taxi pick up point at the shops. The whole area was very sanitised and presumably is aimed at those who don’t like anything other than 5 star and don’t want to experience the real Bali. At 5pm there was nowhere to eat or drink apart from in the hotel restaurants or the shopping area. We stayed an hour and left never to return!

This is my first ever review of anything. However, I feel I should let people have some insights of Nusa Dua before they travel there. Ok, the beach isn’t the cleanest but to be honest it was better than I expected. Some plastic caught up in seaweed. There was lots of water sports activities and although we had fun as a family, the rides were overpriced. About 1.5m R for family of 4 for each activity. What was tue most shocking was the turtle “sanctuary” or whatever they are calling it. Firstly the water sports people charge an extortionate amount to go there. I found out after it is actually free. So we paid a lot of money for a quick boat ride. Secondly, not sure if the turtles and other animals in cages and chained up were actually being treated well. I think it may just be a con to get gullible tourists cash. While at the turtle place they they are constantly pressuring you into providing “donations”… basically begging for money. Shocking, please avoid!

We are staying nusa dua and walked about 30 minutes down the road and along the beach, dodging bad pathways and people trying to sell us just about everything because I thought it would be a good way to explore! We got so hot and tired. We arrived at the main part of this beach where the huge resorts have the set areas for them and trespassers are marched off. So we didn’t know where we were allowed to sit and rest or not. We had lunch at one of the very overpriced restaurants just to enjoy the beach at low tide which was not swimsble and no one was even wading in the water. Sea urchins apparently. As an Aussie, we swim in the ocean so this was a bit of a bummer. I’d go have a look in the area and keep going. We went back to our own resort on the other side of the main road and had a swim in the pool.

This was really an all adult family vacation, so the word couples doesn’t really accurately describe the type. Our time in Bali at Nusa Dua was filled with Warm and service oriented people. If they don’t enjoy their jobs, they sure act like they do! The warmth of the people and kindness is so unexpected. They even tell you when they think you’re tipping too much. We were happy to tip because they all go over and beyond in service...and it’s always with a warm friendly smile, conversation and a real sense of appreciation.

Nusa Dua Beach has been a wonderful experience in the eyes of a virgin to the beauty of the aquamarine blue of the ocean. Me and the Mrs were lucky to see the view before it started to rain. The day we went we saw clouds but that again didn't take away from the dazzling beauty of the horizon. Highly recommend a visit to this beach as it is one the cleanest and there are employed beach cleaners.

Hello everyone,
Pretty bad thanks, my Gehrig’s is actually really bad today. Just wondering if one to visit this beach, would you be able to wheel chair? I sometimes lose my footing abruptly and hope I could use my wheel chair to access the beach.
I hope you are well, thanks in advance,

I would like to visit Nusa Dua just for the day with our children and wondered, can we simply approach the staff at a hotel we like the look of and pay to hire their beach beds and also eat lunch there or do you have to pre book or be a resident there. Also, would our children be able to participate in the hotels kids club for the day?
Written August 4, 2019
Some hotels allow you to hire out their beach beds. But I would advise you do your research and call beforehand.
You would have to ask that individual hotel about the kids club. Although, many do allow that, as long as you pay the usual amount needed.

I understand that Nusa Dua is a long beach with many 5 star hotels owning their private stretches. For those who are not staying at these hotels but are visiting from nearby places like Sanur, which are the sections / stretches that are clean and are open to public? Are these public beaches known by specific names?
Written March 22, 2019
Hi.
It’s my understanding that the beach itself is public, you can take your own umbrella etc and sit wherever you like. The beach clubs belonging to the hotels are set just back off the sand and it’s these facilities you can’t use unless you’re a guest.
There are Warungs (restaurants) and other facilities near the Mercure Beach club that you could use - I would recommend getting a massage from the ladies there. They were excellent and if you ask I’m sure they would also then give you tips on the best places to go.
Enjoy your holiday I hope this is helpful.

We have been to two public beaches in Nusa Dua. Both were very clean with white sand and clear water. Two sun beds with umbrella were 100,000 rpia. Toilets, showers and restaurant close by offering waiter service..... We didn't see any dirt or dark sand, so I don't know where some other comments were about.
