About
Set amidst frangipani garden and beautiful pool, this spa facility is located inside the Green Garden Hotel - well known for its quality but very affordable. Treatments are privately conducted in an air-conditioned spa studio with very clean standard or private rooms for deluxe packages. This day spa is ideal for couples and mature travelers but families with small children might not be suitable due to restricted space available for play.

As an Australian beauty and massage therapist I find it really hard to appreciate spa treatments in Bali. Although everyone raves about how cheap they are compared to day spas in Perth, it's hard to relax and enjoy them because most lack the finer details like a clean (and most importantly QUIET) treatment room, excellent service and skilled therapists, without paying a big difference.

I've been to many places on the streets to just get a quick fix for tired muscles as most Aussies do while they're here because it's SO unbelievably cheap. Everywhere you go dozens of girls yell "yes! massage!?" from the side of the road so the competition is fierce and it's tempting with so many places that are so cheap. But I've been put off after experiences with therapists that have rough hands, where it's uncomfortable to feel long nails and calluses scratching you in the same spot over and over because they don't know a variety of techniques and how to work muscles correctly without applying uncomfortable pressure over bone areas etc. Not to mention less than hygienic beds and rooms that are also very loud as the staff chat amongst each other in Balinese the whole time, plus you can hear them talking to other clients and loudly taking bookings at the front. Far from relaxing.

In my 3rd time here I'm really looking for quality. As well as therapists that actually are trained and know massage professionally. Its hard to find a well priced spa close by that offers all of this and a quiet, clean room to enjoy a couples massage with your partner.

My boyfriend raved about the spa at Febris on his last holiday here with his mates, but he mentioned the treatment area was separated by curtains and didn't offer much exclusivity. Last time we were holidaying here in Kuta together two years ago we decided we would go there together so we went to Febris but they were sadly booked out. The lady on reception recommended another spa in a hotel not far up across the road that also belonged to their spa group and was called "Green Garden Spa" so the treatment menu was essentially identical.

They fit us in on the spot for a beautiful hour long head and foot massage. We had an actual exclusive room in the hotel that was dark with aircon, traditional music and a beautiful ambience in general. We were laying on a clean bed with fresh white sheets and pillow support under the knees and neck (very important not many places offer this). I very rarely ever relax enough to fall asleep but I actually woke myself up from snoring once the therapist was half way through pressure points on my scalp. It's been so hard to beat this experience even in Perth ever since.

Today, nearly two years later we went back for a 90 minute Balinese massage. Before a small tax and service fee this was only $20! - what you would pay on the street (sometimes more) but in the comfort of a hotel spa. We were greeted with fresh black currant juice and cool towels before starting off with a foot bath outside the room overlooking the beautiful pool. We proceeded inside where we were in yet another exclusive quiet room with block out curtains, beautiful music and the sound of the pool water outside the room which was calming. The massage was excellent. The therapist was properly trained and the treatment was very symmetrical which is very easily noted when you are a therapist yourself haha. Excellent pressure and a good amount of time spent on each area of the body. Great support and comfort maintained throughout the treatment as well as modesty and warmth. Another noted detail was the therapist used towel hand mits that were warmed to wipe off the oil after the treatment which many places don't. She also spent time on a short scalp massage to conclude the treatment which is hit or miss - many places don't include this with a massage but it was a lovely touch as I would usually only expect this with a facial.

Overall I'm stoked and wish more people would discover this little treasure in bali. Loved it! And it's so close to everything if you're staying in Kuta. It's just south of the Discovery Shopping Mall. Can't wait to go back for another massage!

We visited this spa in Kuta on our last day in Bali. After visiting a few spas we found that those around Kuta are either too expansive or not to our liking.

We decided to visit this spa based on the review on trip Advisor.

We paid for the 90mins treatment and we were attended by 2 supervisors of the spa. They started off with a foot bath which was very professionally done. They also speak very well in English and they have already worked in this industry for more than 10 years.

After the great foot bath, we were shown to our treatment room. It is on the ground floor at the end of the pool. The entire treatment was just fantastic and she was really good. She asked if the pressure was enough for me. After I told her that I would prefer a harder massage, she put in more effort and then she asked again if the pressure was hard enough. It was indeed very good and in fact both me and my wife had visited 3 spas in Bali during our stay and this is the best we had and it is just beside our hotel. What a find it was and we will visit this pace again if we come back to Bali.

Not sure why the high rating, there are much better spas out there. This only gets 3 because my partner was happy with what he got.
Despite paying more than Rp1mil we were not allowed to use a spa cottage or have the 'extras' that come with a standard package (we customised a package for me, and my partner choose two smaller packages). No herbal tea, fruits, no jacuzzi, no spa, no tranquil outdoor setting. We got a bottle of water each and were allowed to have a shower in a basic enclosed shower room.
The spa was located above the foyer and only had curtains to separate the different areas. There was a separate couples (wet) room around the corner but the shower and toilet drain really stank.
My manicure and pedicure were so bad they look horrible! They didn't let the coats dry properly and most of my toes didn't get a second coat. Very limited Revlon colours. Managed to cut my toe. They used alcohol to clean the tools which was good (I knew it was alcohol because they swabbed my cut with it three times... boy did that sting).
Admittedly the massages were very good, they also used a scrub to get dry skin off and it was quite nice. No idea what they did during my facial but it wasn't anything special really.
Partner was very happy with his hot stone and man facial so that was a plus. The foot bath that you get is also nice. He had a man do his treatments and he was very good and took care with what he did. I had a girl (M-?) and I felt that she didn't care about what she was doing. She didn't take as long with my treatments as the guy did and was too busy talking to the other staff while working on me.
Basically I felt ripped off and there must be much nicer spas out there! Will never go back. It was also a bit pricier than other similar spas (Rp1mil for less than 7hrs in total of treatments). The treatments had no real options (so no reason to go back and try a different scrub or bath for example) and you don't feel that pampered afterwards. Go elsewhere.

Absolutely awesome! My friend and I did the 5hour indulgence package which was just amazing and totally worth the time and money. We then later brought back our daughtrs to do the Princess package massages which my 8 year old said was the highlight of our trip! So relaxing and very professional service.

First day in Bali.
In my quest to try all the massages, i visit the green garden spa for my first Balinese Massage. I chose this one cause of the review on TripAdvisor. The staff welcomes me and i’m invited to chose which massage i want. I took the Harmony of Bali. 2hrs, Foot bath, Balinese Massage full body, and to finish traditional facial massage. I place this massage in first position of my top (i tried Chinese massage & Thai massage before). The masseuse was really good, i lost all my pain i had in my back. She asked as well for the pressure and she speaks a good English. You are just so relaxed when the massage is done… After that you get your traditional facial, i find this part less interesting cause I have a beard maybe (and they asked before if I wanted to shave, but i was not up too that). Funny part when she make a massage… to your nose ^^ The price is more expensive than lot of place in Kuta, but i think the room are more clean & the staff more professional. I had a really good first day in Kuta !

We went here today to have a 1,5 hour traditional Balinese massage! The welcoming was really friendly and we felt very comfy. The massage was relaxing and nice! Only one thing that could be improved (very easily): the room was too cold, the air condition too much so we were freezing at the end of the massage! Please change that and the experience will be nearly perfect 👌👌

Our travel agent had recommended this Spa as we were staying across the road at The Baruna Holiday Inn. We had several treatments over the week and most of them were walk-ins, without appointments.

The Spa staff were extremely accommodating. I had 30 minutes to kill on my first visit & had the most sensational foot bath and massage for $11. The next day I was back for the 90 minute hot rock massage ($22) which was as good as any Endota Hot Rock Massage I've had in Australia. It felt like heaven.

My daughters also booked the 90 minute foot reflexology package (approx $17) immediately after breakfast and were asleep within 15 minutes of the treatment commencing. They came back so relaxed and couldn't stop raving about it.

The Treatment rooms are on the third level of the Green Garden Hotel and overlook the Holiday Inn. Each treatment room is divided by curtains, but don't let this deter you. The spa level is cool, clean, & airy, very much in the Balinese style of architecture. If guests were in the other cubicles you would not have known. A safe was located in each cubicle to secure jewellery, money etc. I'd never seen this done before and thought it was a great idea.

Although, the spa was not the 5 star setting of the big resorts, it was charming & the massage treatments were as good as those offered by the big resorts.

We did have treatments in our hotel and although the setting was more upmarket the treatments were not as good. When we return to Bali, Green Garden will be our first choice of Day Spa.

I was walking past and stopped by to check it out.
Seemed ok, comparing to the lot around Kuta.
I made an appointment to come back in a couple of hours.
Upon my return I was offered a cold drink, which was a nice gesture, however it was so sweet and full of sugar, which is unlikely to help with one's relaxation before treatments.

What I did not like, (and I see that I share this with a couple of other reviewers), was to be asked to pay the full amount BEFORE the treatments. I was surprised and I questioned the possibility of not liking the service, The reply was that I would be able to quit the massage after the first fifteen minutes... Really... after that little time one cannot tell how it will be.

I started with a foot spa, which was just ok... more appearance than quality I would say.
Then I was moved to a massage room (which like many places has just curtain dividers). There was a little safe, and the therapist kindly showed me how to use it.
The massage was very good... I wish I remembered her name for mention.

In the Kuta area, I was not lucky to find a spa for me...I did search for one with good reviews, but it had moved or anyway was not at the address.

If you happen to go to Ubud... please read my review on Ubud Wellness... Now, that was excellent.

Dear eurasian73 of Boston, Massachusetts Thanks for reviewing your spa experience at Green Garden Spa recently. The complimentary welcome drink upon your arrival was Indonesian Passion Fruit drink (it is locally called marquisa). I realize that the taste was not for everyone as it is very traditional to South East Asians. As from beginning of October, we will replace it with Black Current drink as a trial (hopefully it is more acceptable to westerner's palate). Many spas in Kuta request for payment prior to commencing the spa treatments as with Green Garden Spa. Such requirement is predominantly more apparent to busy spas with various entrances while smaller spa places do not apply this because their entrance and exit are through 1 door only with their cashier located right next to the entrance/exit door. As comparison, you might notice that there are more than 1 gateways to/from Green Garden Spa and our cashier is located quite a distance from the entrance/exit ways. However, the main purpose for Green Garden to apply pre-payment is mainly for ensuring that patrons are taking the treatments as expected. Quite a number of times patrons only realized that they had different treatments after the payment was made. Since application of pre-payment, such problem never occurs as patrons will make the corrections before the mistake happens. The feet cleansing ritual prior to your massage was not a foot spa; it was simply more for hygiene purpose. Its efforts and costing are not taken into your massage price at all. If a proper foot spa is required, Green Garden has a number of treatments specifically focused on your feet beauty such as Glowing Toes (which I recommend you to try on your next visit). Many of our repeat patrons claim that this particular treatment is their favorite. Ubud ambiance and pace are very different from Kuta's as reflected in the respective spa places. Certainly the spa patrons have different expectations on the experience they wish to have. Some who prefer to stay in Ubud usually find Ubud spas more appealing than those who prefer to stay in Kuta and vise versa. Your generous review for the massage you had at Green Garden being very good was much appreciated. I shall pass it on to the therapist who took care of you during your visit here. I am sure she will be delighted & proud for being reviewed so highly by a T/A Senior Contributor like yourself. I hope the above sufficiently complement to your review and is informative to other T/A readers. In the meantime, Green Garden Spa is looking forward to be of service to you again on your next spa trip in Bali. Sincerely, ANNIE Spa Manager

Has same things to offer as Febris but bit smaller and ambience not as nice as Febris. But I felt the service was a little more personal at Green Garden. You pay 50 000 in a grotty spa on road or 160 000 for 1.5 hour great massage here. Waxing was good and wax was clean and unused!

There's nothing really bad about the spa, but there's nothing that would warrant it as the #3 attraction in Kuta (what I see on trip advisor). Its really really average. What works in its favour is probably the price, but that's about it.

Place is reasonably clean, and its curtains as partitions, but walls. So, at any point in the massage, you will hear the other conversations that happens with the other massages, people entering, leaving, saying thank you, etc etc. Not super relaxing, but what I would expect from a very average or lower-end massage place. Quality of the actual massage - very average.

A few irks - they asked me to pay in full before I start. Hmmm... I booked a 1.5 hour massage for myself and 1 hour pedicure and 1 hour shoulder massage for my friend. When I arrived, I was told that the 1 hour pedicure and 1 hour shoulder massage will go on in parallel, not sequentially. I told them that the reason why we book both massages is I do not want my friend to have to wait 30 min for me, but they insisted they do not have therapists available to do it sequentially. I accepted it, but in the end I noticed there's no other new customers and there's lot of therapist sitting around anyway, so I really wonder what's going on? Also, half way through my own massage, suddenly someone came into my room and have a hush conversation with my therapist, and suddenly my therapist woke me up and removed the towel that covered my eyes, to have a direct eye-contact conversation with me "Is your massage one hour or 1.5 hours"? I explained mine is 1.5 hours; whilst my friend is 1 hour, she seemed relived and continued. What kind of experience is that? I was awoke from my near slumber.

After the massage we were hungry and decided to grab a quite bite at their cafe, which seemed to be seeming with staff and with only 1 table occupied. BIG mistake. Waiting for a super long time, I wanted to cancel one order after I noticed grimaces at the other table when the food was served. Long story short - super lousy food, service, and expensive for that quality of food!

AVOID at all cost !!!
