Our mission is to provide personal, authentic and thrilling experience and knowledge to our customers on every step of their search- choosing the best wave conditions and location tailored for surfer ability. Our philosophy is to provide an honest and safe surfing environment by presenting realistic expectations on day-to-day surfing conditions or planned surf trips and try our best to be spontaneous- reacting to surf reports to create impulsive events.

Me and my friend (both beginners) had the best time surfing with dawn patrol. We had 3 lessons over 3 days and could see the improvements each day, the teaching is perfect and all the instructors are so friendly and encouraging giving really good advice to help you improve. Each session is finished with a video recap where you watch some clips back and they give you each specific pointers which is so useful. We both learnt so much and had good fun whilst doing it, couldn’t recommend them enough!

I usually don’t write reviews on here but after my with Dawn Patrol I just had to. Before training with Akaa I was scared of big waves and the ocean in general. He made me feel super safe and looked out for me so I never got wiped out. He pushed me while also making me feel safe which made me progress super fast. I basically got 10-15 waves each session, which is insane. At the end I even started taking my own waves. Definitely coming back next year !!

These guys are top notch! Book with them! I did my research on surf lessons and these guys really stood out for picking the best spots and ensuring the best experience. I did a private 3 day lesson with Edo and Akaa and had the best time. I learned so much and felt safe and comfortable the whole time. They also were very accommodating around my busy schedule. The video analysis at the end of each lesson was also so helpful and I truly appreciated the guidance and tips. The guys were an absolute blast to hang out with, patient and encouraging. I wish I was staying in Bali longer so I could take another 3 days of lessons. I will be back the next time I am in Bali!

I live in Bali and just start learning to surf about 1 and half years ago. About 6 months ago I started taking lessons from Dawn Patrol and have had immense improvement in longboard surfing. All the crew and head coach are very professional, very detail yet easy going and patience, given me a lot of confidence on the water.
Dawn Patrol also took me to different surfing spots around Bali which helped me to learn different types of waves, with added bonus seeing beautiful coast lines😍
They also provide video analysis from each session which helped me a lot in improving my skill. I wouldn't recommend any other to learn and to improve your surfing skill.
If you wanna go zero to hero for your surfing skill this surf school is the one!

Our family including 2 kids (8 y/o boys) have tried several surf school in Kuta, Jimbaran, Kauai so far and now we can really recommend this Dawn Patrol Bali with confidence because of instructors here is by far the best teachers as a professional. We were amazed at how Edo and Welli are very reliable in water, thoughtful all the time and gentle with children.
The location is just calm, beautiful and relaxing which made us think we respect and treasure the local environment for the future generations.
We including kids all looking forward to visit here again. Terimakasih.

We loved our surf lessons with Dawn Patrol!! Dealing with them was Seamless and professional from start to finish. Andi dealt with our scheduling and replied quickly always giving us the right info we needed. Ataa was the most amazing instructor!! It was our first surf experience and he got us standing within the first hour! He assisted us with each wave helping push us forward when we couldn’t paddle fast enough. We loved his passion for the ocean, people and catching waves. A great experience!
Highly recommend trying out dawn patrol even if youv never thought of surfing before - so much fun!! 5 out 5 - well done guys

We had several surf lessons with different surf instructors and all of the lessons were a lot of fun. The surf school has a very positive vibe and we always felt welcomed and happy to be there. Their lessons were very clear and taught us quickly how to read the waves and surf the waves. We can recommend it to anyone!

If you're looking for a surf coach in Bali, Akaa is your guy. He's extremely patient, super knowledgeable and will really help you to work on your goals. I've been surfing on and off for 8 years and I learnt more from him in a week than I had the entire time trying to do it on my own! He's great with all levels from beginner to more expeirenced and especailly on a long board, if you wnat to improve your skills like cross stepping, turning and just generally having more fun in the water and ctaching more waves, book a session with Dawn Patrol Bali - Balangan Surf School THANK YOU AKAA!!!!!

Can't rate these guys high enough! Had 5 group lessons in a row as part of a retreat. They catered to each individual. Created a relaxed and fun environment and are really safe and respectful of all the other people in the water as well. It's definitely a super busy break with beginners everywhere but could not fault them. Every time out 2 hours were up we were all sad and wanted to stay out with the guys longer. Video analysis was super helpful as well to see exactly what they were talking about. I will 100% be back!

Thank you for your interest to learn to surf with Dawn Patrol Bali, we certainly can offer you lessons on in November.
Our private beginner lessons (1-on-1 with an instructor) are priced at IDR 550,000. We also offer a discounted 3 day package for 1,450,000.
Our 2 hour surf lessons include 30 minutes theory, safety and standing technique on the beach and 1.5 hours in the water (2 hours each lesson after), with pick-up & drop-off transportation (free within a 35 minute radius of Balangan Beach) and all equipment as standard.
Do you know the name or location of your place of stay in Bali?
We usually confirm a pick-up time the day before your scheduled lesson. Our surf instructors like to check the surf forecast tides and swell to ensure they select the best time and location for surfer ability.
Please let me know if you are happy with the information above and would like to go ahead. I will then confirm your booking with our surf instructors.

We are located at Balangan Beach in South Bali. We are located at Froggy’s Waroeng - one of the wood restaurants towards the right hand side when facing the ocean.
To get to us, it is possible by car, scooter, grab, goJek or Taxi. We are on google maps so your driver can find his way easy as well.
Once at the parking area, it’s a short walk down the hill.
