Even if the beach is really beautiful specially before 5 pm (because after many couples come for prewedding pics).
I was with my friend making personal picture with my Camera and my reflector and 2 guys not really nice and with a poor english ask me 250000 IDR (price for the place when pre-wedding shoot, not for personal pics). I asked why, it's written anywhere you have to pay for making pics on the beach ! then, they become REALLY agressive and one them shout "Get OUT" because i refused to pay ! Why we have to pay for making pics on the beach ??? Someone could you explain to me ?

One of the best beaches in Bali, in my opinion. Soft, golden-white sands, beautifully huge waves, and breath taking view. The beach is located in a secluded area, needs a lot of efforts to reach the beach. But trust me, it's gonna be worth it.
It's close the AYANA resorts, you can see the upscale rock bar from the beach. Expect to pay $15 for a glass of juice at AYANA, but you can spend under $15 for your drinks and snacks FOR YOUR WHOLE GROUP OF FRIENDS while enjoying the same-even better- view!!
There is no warung/shop at the beach, so you need to buy your drinks&snake from Alfamart/Indomaret on your way to tegal wangi. Bring your own plastic bag for your garbages.
You will find natural jacuzzi-like holes across the beach where you can sit in there and get massaged by the waves. But be careful as the waves can be so high and powerful they can drag you to the sea in a matter of second (maybe because I visited in December/rainy season)

Don’t let the 5 star ratings and all the perfectly angled Instagram shots fool you, Tegal Wangi is nothing but trash from years of awful tourists. You’d be better off going to one of the restaurants or beach clubs if you want to enjoy the beauty of a Bali sunset. There used to be a parking area there but a concrete wall was erected right down the middle. There are signs on the other sign saying not to enter.

Tip: Don't go using Uber or Grab Taxi, since there's no reception whatsoever. Either you have your own car/motorbike or charter a transport. (Taxi is possible, but that would mean they also have to wait for you)
Tip 2: For Thrillseekers! Right before the Tegal Wangi beach parking lot (where it has the Tegal Wangi Temple) there will be a dirt trail leading to the north. This is the Cliff Jump Tegal Wangi, about a 10 m drop to the sea. Park your vehicle before the dirt trail, and walk about 10 minutes north. At the fork, go left.
I went there first time in the afternoon about 11 pm, and found the cliffside trail entrance and the beach nearly deserted. The trail down to the beach is difficult to go through for the uninitiated (perhaps the elderly above 65) but not impossible.
The beach itself is not recommended for swimming because of the many corals, but it's pretty okay for a dip.
When I went back there for the sunset over the horizon, many people, more locals than foreigners are there to watch it. It doesn't feel too crowded, but there are many people nonetheless.
As for the Cliff Jump area, if possible, bring a local who knows how to venture the jump itself, since there are some corals that are not dangerous when you jump in, but you may hit when you are swimming back to shore, since the waves can be quite strong.

This beach is included on our itinerary - The best beaches of Bali by Abadi Bali Transport.
This beach is so beautiful and breath taking view. You can just swim, surf and chill out. With the sound of its wave 🌊 you can really relax. But bring food and drinks if you are planning to stay here for a day. It is also near the Uluwatu Temple

Takes 25-30 mins by taxi from Seminyak center. Once you get out of taxi just walk to the left to the edge of the cliff and turn left. You will see the beach shortly. Amazing place to spend your day at the beach. Isolated from all crowds. The shore is full of small pools naturally created by waves. There is no place to buy food except the lady who is selling something in front of the temple. And do not leave your food or garbage behind to keep the place clean. If you walk to the right of the beach you will meet groups of crabs.

Honestly, this is not my favorite beach and this was my first time coming here. I really enjoy to take the picture and enjoying the ambience here, but one thing thay I must say that whoever goes to this beach, please I beg to all of you to take care of the beach, do not littering or anything else. If you just finished to eat or drink something you must keep that trash inside your bag if you couldnt find the bin.
Our future is in our hand to take care this environment clean, then our grandchild can still enjoy it.

If you have a break between jobs, it's good to try a vacation to Bali. There are many places that can be used as destinations on this island. For example, one of them is Tegal Wangi Beach.Tegal Wangi Beach has a slightly different charm from other Bali Beaches. On this beach there are high cliffs, so you can take beautiful photos of this place. In addition, this beach offers tourist attractions that are more privacy for tourists. If you want to enjoy the scenery in this place, tourists are required to pass the steep path. Arriving at the place, visitors will be pampered with white sand and exotic scenery and the gentle breeze of the beach.Tegal Wangi Beach is perfect for taking prewedding photos at sunset. and the results of the photos taken will be very amazing where there is a color gradation from the sky, like orange that combines blue. This beach is included in a sacred or sacred beach in Bali. This is because the beach is used as a place to purify themselves by the local community to conduct ceremonies related to Hinduism

I don't think you can walk from Intercon. It's near Ayana Resort. and no public transport available nearby. better rent bike or car.

Hi! I plan to have my pre-wedding photos at Bali in mid July, and have decided to go to Tegal Wangi Beach as one of our shooting location, may I know if there's a location fee charged and if so, how should we pay the fee?
Thanks
Kathy
Written July 1, 2015
Hi Kathy,
There's no fee charged at Tegal Wangi Beach when we visited end of June 2015. However, in the future I guess that there may be something because I saw they have built a big gate and painted some parking lots inside the gate (but gate not locked and nobody watching the gate at the moment :-)). It's a small, natural and beautiful beach. Some people say it's dangerous and difficult to get down but we found it ok. Even my youngest kid (8 years old) still can walk down to the beach.
Hope you have a good time and get many beautiful pre-wedding pics there.
cheers,
Huong Le
