We were recommended this place by two locals and lots of online rave reviews.
ZERO idea why anyone would recommend this place. Its a real local fish market and interesting to see, for about 3 mins. After that good luck finding a decent place to eat with raw fish in the heat. Wasn't my cup of tea.

Also be weary of the taxi's. we took a metered taxi from Seminyak to here for less than $100k rupiah and after we ate at an overly prices restaurant, we couldn't catch another meter taxi and even the security guard at the restaurant tried to force us nicely to get a taxi for 180k for a shorter ride to Kuta.
We haggled them down to 100k for the ride

I wouldn't bother wasting time here while i'm in Bali.

Jimbaran Fish Market is at the north end of the Jimbaran beach of Bali, Indonesian. It is originally a local fish market, but due to significant tourist, it became tailored to tourist. The Fish Market is divided into many small stalls both indoor and outdoor. Most of the fishes are not alive (they are covered with ice). I found that I had a difficult time to trust the quality of the cold chain management of the seafood product sold in the Jimbaran Fish Market, as the facility doesn’t appear to be adjacent to refrigeration solutions, and the fish boat used are ancient wood boat without any electricity to run refrigerator. The price of the seafood sold in the fish market is quite expensive. When we inquire over the stall owner, we were quoted a price of about USD 40 per pound for lobster, about USD 15 per pound for shrimp. You will need to pay a small charge to cook the fish in nearby stores, though the only available cooking option seems to be grilling over open fire on charcoal. I don’t find the cool chain management, price and the cooking option of the seafood appealing for me to consume the seafood at the fish market.

A great fresh seafood experience. Walk through the seafood market, buy your fish, lobster prawns calamari, very cheap prices. They even gut clean and scale your fish ready to charcoal grill. Take your seafood next door to Warung Garlic, they will grill and serve your fresh fish for 20k Idr ($2.00 AUD) per kg.
Cold drinks and rice if you want it.

Great place to walk between the vendors and check out the latest catches. Very near the Denpasar airport. Just take a taxi or gojek car. It's amazing what lives in the sea. Just about anything you want can be found here. Huge lobsters, large tuna, squid and all kinds of fish. The floor is nasty and smells terrible but I wouldn't want it any other way. Prepare to bump into tables and get that seafood scent on you. Don't wear your best shoes and you'll need to scrub them for sure. After selecting your next fresh meal off the table and negotiating the price, take it next door to have it cooked and served to you for a small charge.

Amazing choice of seafood at really cheap prices. Buy your seafood here and go next door to the local Warungs and they will cook it for you, very cheap and cooked to perfection. Much cheaper than the very expensive restaurants nearby

We asked to be dropped off at this end of the beach to have a look at the market & decide if to eat there.
5 mins in the actually market was enough due to the strong smell. It was interesting to see the different types of fish & the hive of activity.
You can pick your own fish & have it bbq'd at one of the stalls & eat there.

We went for a look early in the morning. Despite the rain we enjoyed having a look. Good for the kids to see how other countries run their markets. Worth a visit if your local to the area. However the beach is nice so worth a day trip if your planning a lazy day on the beach.

Suggesting to take the taste of grilled fish over there. Restaurant at beach side and grilled fish. Really will give anyone a good experience. Also the night view is really good. If anyone think to visit, advise to go there at evening.

We have been several times to the markets and several of the restaurants along the beach.
I’m not sure which is the best way to go,it’s all pretty much the same and as good.
But,after all the visits I have never seen a fishing boat putting to sea at Jimbaran.
I have noticed though a lot of taped up polystyrene boxes being delivered by truck or scooter so I wonder where the seafood actually comes from.
Does anyone know?

Went to visit this market to get some fresh fish for dinner. I got extremely disappointed when while buying prawns the seller was placing some rotten ones in the bag, I then stop him and removed the bad ones, after that he DENIED ME TO BUY THE FRESH ONES! Went to another one, asked him some prawns pointing the ones I had in front and he just got others hidden beneath melted water.
While there's some fresh fish you can find at this place(not much though, most has been sitting there for days - I'm a chef and a fisherman - nothing is thrown away at the end of the day), TAKE CARE AS THEY TRY TO GIVE AWAY THE FISH THEY CAN'T SELL ANYMORE FIRST..
If you want to get some fresh ones go there around 7 am and BUY DIRECTLY FROM THE UNLOADING FISHING BOATS.
