Tras Sarbagiat bus was provided BY BALI GOVERNMENT for city transport from and to: Airport, Nus Dua, Kuta Denpasar and Sanur... For those who are staying among those location is a great idea to utilize these city transport. The price is between IDR 3-5K for one trip. You can also inter Denpasar capital with these buses. you are welcome to enjoy this bus services with local communities, no hassle!

Decided to use this local bus service to get from Sanur to the Carrefour Mall near Kuta. It was an interesting experience but worthwhile trying out. There is no timetable so you just get to the elevated bus halt and wait for the next bus. Generally a 30 min wait average. Buses quite clean and aircon and all fares 3500Rp so good value.Just remember to ask conductor forv your stop whdn you get on and they wil. Tell you when to get off . Interesting view of Bali local life on the bus, all very friendly and interesting! An ineresting way to spend a few hours with the llocals!

Used this service three times to travel from Kuta to Sanur and vice versa. You have to get on the Sabargita bus Nusa Dua - Batu Bulan. First and last stops on a route that also serves the airport. There are a number of stops on this route where you can get on and off called 'Halte' (a Dutch word). Near Kuta there is a halte near Dewa Ruci statue and another one at Sentral Parking. A halte is easily recognizable because they are elevated and sheltered. Make sure you tell the bus assistant where you want to get off.

There is no timetable. I waited 15 and 20 mintues, but also one hour and 40 minutes. Other passengers told me that is not uncommon. A passenger at the Dewa Ruci halte the other day had been waiting for 2 hours.

Information on internet is very limited. The Sabargita website is in bahasa Indonesia only. Moreover information is outdated. Also you have to study the topography of the area in detail as routes and destinations are often unknown to foreigners and stops are often only on the highways. There is supposed to be a feeder system (from highway stops into Denpasar city and neighborhoods), but it does not seem to function well. Even for locals it is difficult to figure out. No wonder most locals use a motorbike to go from A to B.

The poor state of public transport in the Denpasar area and Bali in general is demonstrative of the weak public sector. Private companies dominate the public domain and the result is a jungle of congested roads, lanes and alleys.

On the bright side: people on the bus are friendly and love to talk; ticket 3,500 IDR only.
