It is only 8km from mussoorie, but the approach road is hazardous due to extremely small roads with nuisance of parked vehicles everywhere. You are quite likely to get held up either way as there are several spots enroute where 2 SUV'S cannot pass each other. Lal tibba point has a cafe by the same name and charge you Rs.50 per person to climb just 1st floor which is supposed to be govt approval rate. The point is supposed to show you snow clad range of himalayas, but 90% of the time the haze buildup blocks the view hence a pure waste of trip. Otherwise being higher then mussoorie town, Landaur is very pristine with superb coniferous trees and is best for a peaceful stay if you are looking for rest and reading.

To access the best sightseeing point, you have to pay a restaurant from whose terrace you can get the best view.
Atop the terrace there is a binocular and a man who manages it. On a clear day you can magniifcent views of the Himalayan peaks.

Awesome view but the small cafe below the viewpoint has staff that charge 50 ₹ a person for going up to the viewpoint . The complaint is not about the money but there is no receipt given nor is there a signboard that tells that such is the charge . If that was so then it would not have felt like a rip off

Only a hype created on this place. The place was nothing as compared to the ratings on the websites. Place was dirty and badly managed. The restaurant management charges exhorbitant prices just to go to the terrace and stand around. Leave aside place to sit, there was no suitable place to stand.

First of all to get view you need to be on roof top of the restaurant which will charge you 50/- per person.
Also you need to pay 100/- for parking.
And the last thing view is not exceptional. You can get same view from other hills or places.

This place (restaurant which you realise on entry) charges Rs. 50/- and no receipt is issued for entry (Tax Evasion?). There is a total disregard to those in queue to get on top, as they have also put tables there to serve food to their guests. One is charged Rs. 50/- (earlier mentioned) to get on top this very terrace where some people are dining. This place has boards put up stating it is government approved(HOW?). HORRIBLE!! The government needs to seriously review!! So basically people are wondering what is actually that you get to view! It’s basically snow capped mountain peaks. (Sounds good but hardly visible) AVOID this place and get on a better vantage point and save yourself the disappointment!!!!

This place is famous for sunset point of mussorie , so it is at a hight more than the normal places . Road is about four kms from picture palace and very narrow . So I took a scooty on a rent of 200 per hour and enjoyed the trip. A small place , also isolated . Do not be there late after sunset . Keep a adhar copy and driving license with you , if want bike or scooterrent facility . Excellent experience as weather was good and sunny . Not much hot , but need a full shirt in evening if want to go out .

Too good a place ,There was a small restaurant run by a Punjabi family serving the best of omlette momos ,sandwiches .They have a beautiful view from the terrace and have an in-house photographer to click some unforgettable memories. On a clear day you can see snow clad mountains.Must visit and relax at this place for atleast an hour

The best time to visit this attraction is early morning around 7 am before the tourists start arriving and destroy the peace and tranquility. In recent years lot of illegal construction has taken place in the area which spoil the natural beauty of the place. The valley view is awesome from here. You should ideally walk all the way from Char dukan to this place. This 30 minute walk will take you through green part of Landour with tall trees and ferns to give you compny. Come pack and have nice breakfast at Char dukan.

1. Please include Landour Cantt in your itinerary. A meal at Emily's is highly recommended
2. You are likely to experience snowfall in Mussoorie in the 1st week of Jan....hopefully.
3. Yes, 1st week of Jan will be ideal to experience chill and cold weather.
4. A 7 day trip may be just about fine to see these places. Don't add any other place unless you plan to increase your stay.

My suggestion as a local who spent his childhood in Musssoorie :
1. First day evening , take a walk on the Mall Road . Cover two ends -- Gandhi Chowk ( also known as the Library ) to Picture Palace . The distance is about 3 kms. You would get a feel of this Hill Station . There are many good restaurants on Picture Palace end serving Veg and Non veg varieties . Make your choice.
2. Second day morning , go for an early walk to the Lal Tibba . If it is not cloudy , you can have a panaromic view of the snow capped Himalayan Ranges. Have breakfast at the Char Dukaan . You would relish it forever.
3. If you have energy, there are options for rest of the day. You can either go to the Kempty Falls but if would be quick trip or the Municipal Garden for a lazy afternoon.
I wish you a nice time at Mussoorie !
