Warm woolies

We stopped at a bungalow with an outlet for shawls, stoles and sweaters. The sweaters were nice, but I didn't find one in my size, The warm stoles and shawls looked quite good though. The bungalow has two dogs, one friendly and loose, the other unfriendly and in a leash.

Clean and natural
Nov 2016 • Friends
This is not a proper shop but a personal property with the himalayan weavers products in one room. Located at the top of the mountain on mussorie-dhanaulti highway. As it is all natural, there are very few options available in terms of color (maximum blue and pink shade). Very few items for gents (only big shalls). Ladies can buy wollen caps (Rs 300/- cheapest thing available), Stolls (Rs.800-2000+) and Shawls (Rs.2000+) etc. All products are natural and costly (but pure). One can go and see dehradun store too of himalayan weavers. Middle class people may think twice to buy.

Designer oasis in the hills

This is a little shop, on the country-side, owned by Aslam and Pat - away from Mussoorie, on the way to Dhanaulti.
Great natural products - handmade from natural fibers and natural dyes. I didn't find a single item on sale that can be termed useless.
Must visit if at Mussoorie or Dhanaulti, or even Dehradun where they have another small outlet. Though I wasn't prepared, I still ended up buying a couple of items on sale - stoles, scarves, mufflers, toys - all made with love and care.
I was just curious to see what was 'natural', when I entered this place, and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and range available.
Will visit if I travel again, to this side of country, and this time be prepared to pack a bundle.

If you are visiting the Queen of Hill Station Mussourie and you want to pack few souvenirs for friends back home do drop by. Better still why only gifts and souvenirs you can visit Himalayan Weavers to try their products for personal use as well.

Neatly tucked on the Dhanolti Road in Mussourie you cannot miss the charm and beauty of the naturally dyed shawls and scarves. I must confess I did not buy anything from the shop but I must bow down to the courtesy and welcoming nature of the owners who are striving hard to maintain & nurture the skill of Local weavers.

Himalayan weavers is doing great job as local people are engaged in the whole process. The quality of shawls is very good. shawls/ stoles are quite cozy and soft. As natural dyes are used so skin friendly and environment friendly as well. it is a very good example of cottage industries helping locals in income generation.
