Varanasi is known as spiritual capital of India. The most famous is Kashi Vishwanath Temple which was destroyed and rebuilt many times. In 1931 Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya decide to make replica of this famous temple. One of India's richest family Birla Group started the construction which was completed in 1966.
It is located inside Banaras Hindu University complex. It is the tallest temple in the world. Its height is 250 feet. It is devoted to Lord Shiva. Inside this temple there are 9 other temple of different Hindu Gods. The beauty of this temple is that it is open to the people of all religion, cast and creed.

The new temple corridor is awesome. If you have a few years ago and if you visit now, you wont believe it is the same temple. It is neatly maintained and well organized. Remember if you don't have VIP pass you will have wait in the queue for hours as the temple will be crowded at nay point of time.

Temple is Huge and Passages are big, It can accommodate a good number of people.

Though well built architecturally , it belied my expectations . I had been there in the evening . It is located well within the BHU campus . There were several visitors to the temple . I saw quite a few wanting to use the sulabh souchalaya located outside ..the building was locked and dark ..and still the workers within the temple complex were guiding people there ..didnt they know it was non functional ?

I was impressed by this temple. It seemed newer, more spacious path way, less crowded. One still has to leave the shoes and cell phones at the Reception area before entering this temple.

very beautiful temple. So much greenery around. And also not much queue of pilgrims. You get darshan fast and easy. You get so much time and energy to soak in the peace and tranquility. A tip is to visit the nearby hostel mess rather that south indian cafes outside the temple

I have visited this place twice before and the way it has transformed now is simply unbelievable ! Clean, organised and well planned is how I would describe this place. Take a walk to the ghat to catch a glimpse of the Ganga during sunset.

I had been to this temple many times before my currant visit .The New Viswanth Temple is situated in the heart of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU). When you enter from the main gate of BHU, and move towards the temple,you’ll be pleased to see wide roads and green trees ,dotted on both the sides.This is the charm and beauty of this University. In contrast with the Golden Viswanath temple of the main city, where you have to pass through a crowded, dirty lane, long walk in queues, passing through multiple security check ups to reach at the sanctum and then have quick Darsan . In this temple you can reach up to the main gate, by your own vehicle. It is situated on a wide road in a clean, green, and very serene ambiance with no pang of security check ups. Anybody (including foreigners) can visit it freely,so its truly cosmopolitan temple
This temple was built by the famous industrialist, Birla,on the request the Pandit Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviya ,the founder of this University ,whose statue is in the front side of this temple .it is also called Birla Mandir of Sri Viswanath ji .Its spire is the highest amongst the temples of India .It has ground floor and first floors ,which are painted in pink color ,one of the colors of this University. This temple is very near and dear to the student and staff of BHU. They come here, when in distress ,they come here when happy or in celebration mood. Some students come here to seek blessings from Lord Shiva to get success in their exams.
On the Gate of the temple, there are many shops, some sell flowers some religious books and some tea coffee and snacks. When you enter in the campus of the temple, you’ll find a place for putting your shoes, on its right side. Beautifully cut and shaped trees of Ashok , are seen on both sides of the road leading to main temple. I moved around the temple and saw many small benches with marble tops. Peoples were seen lying on the lawns; few were meditating, few resting on the benches. The centre and main sanctum of the temple is devoted to Shiv Lingam, in a rounded cashing, made up of silver. Besides, there are many other small temples of, Natraj, Panchmukhi Mahadev, Parvati , Ganesh ,Hanuman and Nandi. On the inner walls of the temple are inscribed verses from scripture with its explanation,

is there any special Darshan system where we can buy the tickets or its the normal one single queue where everyone can get through and complete the darshan?

New Vishwanath temple is in Banaras Hindu University campus. There's no ticket to enter and proper arrangements to keep your footwear.This is free too.Of course, you can tip the caretakers if you want, not mandatory though.
Moreover, the darshans are easier. The temple is modern day architecture with statues of deities beautifully carved. The Panchmukhi Shivlinga is particulary one of the very unique, distinct feature of this temple.
Kashi Vishwanath temple takes you more time for the darshans and you got to keep your footwear in custody of any shopkeeper who would offer this service for free but in return would expect you to buy 'bhent/prasadam' or 'jalabhishek samagri'.

This is a hindu temple. And there is no provision of any ticket for entering the temple.There might be a nominal fee for keeping you shoes..apart from that there is no fee.
