Good value for money

Rarely people come here, it is a hidden gem. The fort is very beautiful with good stories of maharajas. Must see in sunset.

Nice place to spend a few hours walking around and marveling at the architecture. Don't waist your time shopping at the few high priced tourist stores near the bus run up to the fort. Lots of locals harassing tourists at the fort which can be unnerving for new tourists. . Just brush them off, refuse to engage them and smile.

A "must-visit" - especially if you haven't visited any other fort in India. A worth-taking trip, about 40 km. from Agra. Don't listen to the "guides" asking you 2000 rupees to solve all your "problems". You don't have to take off your shoes. Ticket for the fort is 500 rupees. Just follow the signs to the bus, ticket is 10... More

The city of victory (Fathehpur Sikri) Is a fusion of Hindu & Muslim architectural wonder. Previously a ghost city after it was abandoned by the Mughals because of water supply system related shortcoming,is now one of the must see places in the tourism map of India.

Most people don't add this to their itinerary to Agra. But the Taj Mahal would not have happened if not for Fatehpur Sikri. We had a very informative guide. It was fascinating to go through the various courtyards, rooms, and palaces here, and be told about their significance. Felt blessed to visit the Dargah of Chisti. This Dargah is not... More

We spent an extra day in Agra to see the non-Taj monuments, and went to Fatehpur Sikri first. Having read up and heard so much about it, the expectations were high. However, the shabby upkeep and bad behaviour of the crowds turned this into a disappointing experience. This is a vast area, with two separate domains close by - too... More

It is a very interesting fort with a lot of history. Make sure you get a guide so he/she can tell you about the Raj's favourite elephant who would be ordered to crush criminals with his foot after judgement day in front of the crowds etc.

You will love if you have the patience and energy to roam around. Maintenance is not good and also the crowd.
