Midway between the ornate gateway and the masjid at the Taj Mahal complex, on the western periphery of the complex, is the Jal Mahal. This is one of two pavilions built at either end of a water channel bisecting the charbagh gardens of the tomb. Jal Mahal houses the Taj Mahal Museum, a very small selection of exhibits. Some pertain to the Taj itself: layouts, including a beautiful 19th century one on cloth, a few paintings, mostly from the 20th century, farmans regarding the purchase and construction of the Taj, and some details about the semi-precious stones used in it); others, like weapons, coins, and jade or celadon ware, are more generally Mughal.

Entry to the Taj Museum is free.

This museum has the collection of swords and other war heads of those times. It can be given a visit post visiting Taj Mahal. It won't take much of your time.

This is the first time we spotted Taj Museum and visited it. The museum gives a glimpse of the mughal history and contains various rare artefacts. The artefacts are well catalogued and we recommend that every visitor at Taj should visit this museum.

I was disappointed. There are a few item. The rooms are dark, making it difficult to see and read information on many displayed items.

Anyone who's ever been in love must visit the Taj Mahal in India. It is simply the most beautiful structure ever erected as testament to one man's devotion to his bride. Dazzling at the time of its construction, it still retains its magnetism with an aura that captivates the beholder.

One of the Wonders of the Ancient World, it is a "must see" for anyone that visits India.

Anyone that says 'only fools fall in love' has never known beauty or felt a quickening pulse of the heart.

A heart without love is a body without a soul.

The Taj Museum is quite nice and worth a visit. Make sure you ask your guide to take you here. It has a lot of nice items dating back to the time the monument was built.

The Taj Museum is a double storeyed building, which lies within the Taj Mahal complex. The museum includes 3 galleries and a main hall. There is a gallery, where displays relating to the construction of the Taj Mahal and to the period of its construction are exhibited. The 1st gallery of the museum holds exhibits of plans and drawings of the architecture of Taj Mahal. The 2nd gallery of the museum displays jade and porcelain objects like Quran stand carved of jade, spouted vase carve of Jade and mirror mounted on stone. The 3rd gallery of the museum exhibits the important royal Farmans and Waslis of famous calligraphy of the period. In the main hall, tourists can see paintings of Shah Jahan and his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal.

Nice place to visit when you're at Taj Mahal. You won't need a extra ticket to visit, it's included in Taj Mahal's ticket. There are loads of historic stuff in here.

This Museum is located within Taj Mahal boundaries and there is nothing much to see except for all items, which will hardly take 15-20 min to complete this visit.
