Massive fort

It is quite big with a lot of buildings, rooms, gardens and halls. After Taj Mahal, Agra Fort is tha second "must" in Agra city. Be ready to walk for at least 2 hours.

You need to have a guided tour in order to appreciate the history behind the fort. Very interesting and you can see The TM in the distance.

If you want a larger slice of Moghul history, artistry, and brilliant syncretic architecture visit Agra Fort. We were there for two hours, I could have spent all day. You will see exquisite marvel (and inlays), sandstone architecture, beautiful gardens, a view of Taj Mahal, and above all the poignancy of the emperor Shah Jehan who was imprisoned here.

Although visitors access is limited, this is a beautiful place with a slightly cheeky claim to fame if you believe the Shahjahan stories of love, betrayal and house arrest. Great alternative view of the Taj as well.

Agra Fort is a very big and historical Fort. Jamuna river is just beside the fort. Tajmahal is in the opposite side of the river. Shah Jahan made this Fort. Light & Sound in the evening is superb. One must enjoy and feel the taste of light & sound.

Good to visit before Taj. 1 hour enough. Especially nice outside view on the buildings. A guide not really needed.

The fort is very big and I was quite impressed with it's hugeness. But still if you have visited many forts before, there wouldn't be anything new. Just the regular big bunglow stuff of that time...with the fountains all. Wasn't that exciting.Should visit only if u wanna see the place where jodhha akbar was shot and only if you have... More
