Most impressive site I've ever visited

Every bit as spectacular as you'd imagine, one of the most famous tourist attractions in the world for a reason

This place is filled with touts and fake guides selling ..mis selling artefacts and photographers who would forcefully accompany you. Do's;- 1) Fix a Tourism approved Guide and ask them to handle the agents and touts 2) Ask the guide to purchase the entry tickets. 3) Check with guide what all things are allowed in hand bag inside the premise.... We visited the Taj Mahal at dawn and we saw the magnificence of this structure at a time when the footfall was not so high and the temperature was at a more pleasant level. It is a magnificent marble building with beautiful grounds that should not be missed on a visit to an otherwise messy litter strewn Agra.

For all travel lovers like me, the Taj Mahal is a must visit at least once. The entire experience is well organized even on a full day such as the Sunday I visited. 1000 rupees for foreigners gives you entrance at priority lines. Plan for a 2hs visit and a 3 1/2 car drive back and forth from Delhi. I... More

Taj Mahal is a such a beautiful place and truly a well worth to visit. We visited there on a sunrise and this turned out to be a good choice as it was not very crowded and hot yet.

I doubt I can add much to what's already been said about this iconic monument. All the pictures you have seen do not do justice to seeing if in real life. It's the close up detail , delicate carving, inlaid precious stones - that make it special. There is nothing garish or overdone, just fine , pretty and exquisite workmanship.... More

One does not need words.. To enjoy Taj I believe one must go alone and soak in the beauty for couple of hours..that Is what Taj needs from you..A good Guide and timings are critical. Me and my friend started from Delhi at 6 and reached taj at 9:00 am.We should have been little quick. If wants to see taj then... More

You walk to get there, then pass through security, then walk again and, finally, access stairs. It's beautiful from the outside. Non-descript and dark within.

I don't think there is a need for me to post a review, but a few tips, 1. Try to go in the evening (the area is mostly open and it gets hot.) 2. Try to carry as few things as possible(water, camera and umbrella) as security is tight, I had to return a book that I had in my... More
