Amazing architecture. Though getting an entry ticket is a bit of a hassle if you haven;t booked online. But still a small place to see one of the wonders of the earth.

My wife and I visited the Taj Mahal whilst in Agra during a tour of northern India. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and like the Agra Fort, is on all standard tourist itineraries for visitors to Agra. Inevitably, it is crowded so we went in the early morning. Although we arrived at around 06:10, by the time our... More

This is not the first time I visit Taj. But every time l say !WoW!. It is recommended to go as early as possible to avoid the crowed Taj gates are usually open at 7A.M. Early visitors will get a better view in term of photography. As the number of the tourist are increasing as the day progress. Ask your... More

We visited Agra November 30 and December 1. There was signifcant fog the morning we were to see theTaj Mahal at sunrise. Disappointed but not deterred we put off the visit until 9 am. Although the fog was still very thick, we were able to catch glimpses of this magnificent building. It was like she had a veil over her... More

I have to admit to my disolution (fruit of my ignorance) I always "looked" for this great world wonder as a palace, however, now after the visit, I finally realize that it is "only" a mausoleum. A majestic monument! In my opinion, a visit should be made very calmly, however the frenzy and turistic excitement of the place ends up... More

It was a breath taking moment to see the Taj Mahal in the evening from the other side of the river and the next day - early morning when the sun raised - to stand in front of this unique bulding surrounded by huge gardens.

Just remember if you want to experience day break there will be a long queue. Suggest you arrive after 0900 when there will be a shorter queue. Check on the level of smog or you may not see the Taj clearly. The beggars are quite an issue in the car park area.

It was a real joy to visit this monument with our family this week:-):-):-):-):-) The structure and setting was all that we had hoped for. Crowds were not too busy later in the day, and the site is very well organised, as one would expect for a monument of such importance to the world. Enjoy! :-)
