Mehtab Bagh translates into Moonlight Garden. Seeing the Taj itself is amazing, but having this full view all to yourself is definitely satisfying. If you have time In Agra, Mehtab Bagh is must, especially for Photo Enthuistics. Tickets are quite reasonable, 100 Rupees for foreigners and 15 Rupees for Locals. Just about 5 minutes walk to the bank of Yamuna... More

Wow what a view of Taj Mahal in the evening across the river. It is said shahjahan planned black marble Taj Mahal at this site but knowing about father's plan for black Taj Mahal his son put him in house arrest.

Well, the 'Moon Gardens' are on the opposite side of the river to the Taj Mahal and popular at sunset. The gardens themselves are okay , but the riverside - facing the Taj- is tatty and fenced off with barbed wire, with uneven banks and ditches. The sunset was nothing special on the night we went, perhaps it's a better... More

The gardens are nice, and so is the river. But the main reason to visit is for the unobstructed (by people!) views of the Taj. Best visited in the afternoon - the lighting conditions are best at that time.

I had read that you should see the Taj Mahal from the other side and I am so pleased that we did. The views are breathtaking.

We visited these gardens in the early evening and the view of the Taj Mahal from here is surreal. The photos we got here are better than at the Taj itself as there were less people. If you are not travelling with a guide watch where they take photos from as they really know there stuff. We could have sat... More

Definitely worth a visit in the afternoon to get the best possible lighting for photos. Garden is a good area to roam around/play with your kids and enjoy the marvel called Taj again.
