We visited this garden because we reached Agra on Friday and Taj Mahal was closed. Personally, I wasn't expecting much but the view from Mehtab Garden was absolutely stunning. People told me that the garden had been recently revamped. It was clean and scenic. There's Yamuna that flows in between Mehtab and The Taj. The river is dirty and requires... More

The gardens are beautiful, but most importantly is it's strategic location across the Taj. For photography lovers, sunrise/sunset will take on new meaning while shooting at the TAJ. The entry fee is almost free and the gardens are very well kept.

This is one of those mysterious places in the history of Agra. Black Taj or a Mughal Garden ?? what was supposed to be planned here is a question and people have 3-4 different opinions. However this garden provides one of the best views of the Taj. Little off-beat inside a small village; Mehtab Bagh gives you a space to... More

This was both my 4th and 5th visit to this wonderful monument and it truly is one of the original 7 wonders of the world. The fog/smog made the night viewing poor, but the fog parted long enough the next day for a great view, The fog parted for us to get photos and then closed in again for some... More

Mehtab Bagh, Agra The Garden complex, situated on the opposite bank of the Taj Mahal, is known as Mehtab Bagh, or “The Moonlight Garden”. Recent excavations revealed a huge octagonal tank furnished with 25 fountains, a small central tank and a baradari on the east. The site is also associated with the myth of black Taj, but the excavations have... More

Mahtab Bagh is across the Yamura River from the Taj Mahal. It was our first glimpse of the Taj but from the back. There is a charge for video cameras so be aware. They were working on the gardens so the paths were a mess. There was water standing that prevented walking on the path as it was muddy. The... More

We visited Mehtab Bagh at the end of our day long trip. There is nothing of real note to look at, it's a quiet place to rest and remember the day just gone. But it does have the views of the Taj Mahal across the river. Visit this place for that view, and just to take a breather from the... More
