Mehtab Bagh is located back side of Taj Mahal. Yamuna river is inbteween the Taj Mahal & Mehtab Bag. This BAgh is not maintain. Only this is famous for back view of Taj Mahal.

It's always good to view things from different perspectives – same for the Taj Mahal! The Mehtab Bagh was quiet, serene and a lovely place to have long conversations and simply enjoy the company you're with, while basking in the view of the Taj from across the river. I would strongly recommend going to this park on top of the actual... More

A visit to the beautiful Mehtab Bagh gardens in Agra is a must. The Garden complex is situated on the opposite bank of the Taj Mahal, is known as Mehtab Bagh, or “The Moonlight Garden”. I went there for the first time this year. WE went there soon before sunset. Got a good distant view of Taj as the day... More

I'm a little sorry that we saw this view first since we arrived in Agra early evening. It sort of ruined it for us. But highly recommend this as a second view of the Taj.

The Taj Mahaal was built for the third and favourite wife. Her surname was Mahaal and I did not realise this til I visited. She gave him 14 children and died in childbirth with the last one. He augmented this monument to her like no other in the world. He married her at 16 years and she died aged 35..

Much hyped online, the Mehatb Bagh was a disappointment when I visited it on 2 Oct 2016. 'Bagh' means 'garden' in Hindi and there was a 'garden' but not well maintained. The shrubs were almost dried up (terrible for Oct) and the pathways dusty and unkempt. The hype was to visit this garden for a rear view of the Taj... More

Nowhere near as crowded as Taj Mahal, great place view the tomb in all is glory. When we were in Agra it was often hazy later in the day so sunset may not be spectacular but this is a nice peaceful spot; sunrise might be better if this garden is open. Security guard shooing us out at the end was... More

We visited the Mehtab Bagh in late afternoon when the sun was setting. The moonlight garden was an extension of the Taj Mahal Garden but on opposite side of river. It was lost under mud but excavated in the 1990's - the octagonal pool and pavilion are in good condition. There is a cremation area on the opposite bank to... More
