This place has become more of crowd spot for anyone coming to Ooty. However, we felt there are many more beautiful places which are not commercialised yet but much more beautiful than this spot. Please research a bit and enjoy the travel ;)

There are many good resorts and hotels in Ooty area. It all depends upon your budget. One of the best hotels to stay is Sterling Resort Elk Hill. Definitely the best view of Ooty right from hotel rooms as it is situated on top of Elk hill. I do not agree with the answer above, Bandipur tiger reserve area is quite far from the actual Ooty town unless there was a resort named Bandipur inn Ooty.
There are no tea estates as such within the Ooty city and also all the better views and attractions are out of Ooty city. Best area is to go from Ooty to Coonoor and you will see lots and lots of tea estates especially if you go towards Dolphin's nose point in Coonoor. That area is full of spectacular views and tea estates. Unless you want to stay in a hotel away from the city, the only disadvantage will be that you will not be able to get if you need anything (anything to buy etc).
My advise will be to stay in a good hotel in Ooty depending upon your budget. There are plenty of good hotels in Ooty. Keep one day for Coonoor area or else you can also stay in Coonoor or even take the toy train from Ooty to Coonoor, of course you need to book way in advance for that train. The other beautiful areas in Ooty include Pykara lake, falls, shooting point, but they are on the other side of the city, so you will need another day to explore that side. Apart from this, there are Avalance lake, Bhavani lake etc, but those areas come under forest department and you cannot travel on your own there. I suggest to better read a bit about those areas before you travel.
Have a lovely trip!
Of late, there seems to be quite a lot of people looking for an itinerary to plan their visit to Ooty and Coonoor and i thought a base idea would help them get started, customizing on it as they get along. So, here goes . . . . . An Ideal 4 day Itinerary for the first time visitor. A quaint little town, Situated at an altitude of 2,240 meters (7,350 feet) above sea level, straddling all of 37 Square Km’s, Ooty certainly deserves the title – The Queen of Hill Stations. A ‘Touristy’...More

Hey Abhi, 1) 21 Oct and 22 Oct is doable and you can visit rose garden (it may drizzle though). 2) As for 23 Oct, you may visit Mudumalai/ Bandhipur National Park. 3) Even if you leave early to Coimbatore on 24 Oct, you may not reach Airport before 5.30 if you plan to see the places you have mentioned. So, either you skip the places at Coonoor or pre pone those on 23 Oct and halt a night at Coonoor and next day (24 Oct) leave to Coimbatore

Hi While you do have quite a list, the directions they are in, are not in a logical order (for example, at Ooty, Botanical garden and shooting point are in two different directions). Check this link for an idea on the directions they are in and a logical sequence based on your priorities. . . . https://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowTopic-g297679… If you are a serious wildlife enthusiast, who would like to spend a couple of hours within the jungle, then your obvious choice has to be...More
