Pandia is a true foodie. He'll take you to as many places as you can still eat, so forego that lunch and go hungry! Although we were a group of five girls, we are fiercely curious about all the food so we went to 13 eateries and tasted 26 dishes, lasting for five hours. I didn't know that there are... More

Really enjoyed this culinary understanding of Madurai's cuisine. Praveena has a wealth of knowledge about the food's origins and cultural values, which certainly provides an added aesthetic experience.

We are astonished by so many favourable reviews. We'd give it zero out of five! At 2000Rs/- per person, it was a joke. Our disinterested 'host' seemed half asleep most of the time - we had to keep making different observations to elicit any comment. (A similar tour in bangalore cost 700 Rs PP & was 50 times better). The... More

Dear Louise and Tony, Thank you for your feedback. We regret that you did not find value in our food tour. Each city in India has a different food culture and Madurai is home to some of the most unique traditional food in the South and I don’t think they can be bench marked against each other. Our charge of... More

My travel friend and I nearly always book a food walking tour when in a new city. This one was something special! Booking via email was quick and easy. Our guide picked us up at our hotel promptly and was a delight. Not only did we have the chance to taste and learn about many of the region's delicious and... More

My partner and I traveled to Madurai in Dec 2015. Foodies day out was a lovely eve with three other guests from Austria and the US. We covered quite a few number of places in 3.5 hours. We were advised to skip lunch in the anticipation of the eve and were therefore quite hungry! The portions ordered were moderate, which... More

My husband and I have just returned from our tour. Amazing! Madurai can be slightly intimidating to a new traveller and as I am pregnant I was worried about street food but this was an amazing experience. Our guide was charming, so so friendly and a wealth of local knowledge: food and otherwise. The food was delicious and we tasted... More

Foodies day out is simply fun! If you enjoy tasting new food and are curious about what is being sold by street vendors and local restaurants this is for you.

Just imagine you are friends with a local who picks you and takes you around town to sample the best street food and little restaurants cooking their number one dish. Let me introduce you to Pandian and his Foodies Tour of Madurai. You must do this tour, cancel whatever else you were planning.

First of all I would like to recommend, not to have a big breakfast/lunch before doing this tour. Otherwise you will regret it! This tour is a must for every traveller who loves food. You will explore many different tastes. Some of the dishes are only available in Madurai and nowhere else! And don't worry about your health. The foodie... More
