We loved this tour and Ms Praveena, who took us on a magic carpet ride of gourmet street-eating of Madurai at dusk, and safely guiding us across busy streets, to wonderful tastes and places off the beaten path. Loved all the stops, as it was her personal tour of her city and its delicious secrets. Don't miss it!

Mukunthan Was our brilliant host for the evening. The food was beyond amazing but our host was great company and educated us more in one evening about India and its people and food than both our tours had provided. The places we ate we would not usually have given a second glance to yet these contain the greatest food experiences... More

We loved every little bit of this tour. Everything from the very funny and welcoming host Pandian, the excitement about tasting new things and being able to actually try all the nice food that is being sold everywhere on the streets. We where stuffed for days after, but will remember the tour as one of the most memorable experiences of... More

If you love food you have to experience this. In the first weekend of september we visited madurai and booked a Foodies day out. We went with Mukunthan to six different places were he told us the background of the nice flavours we tasted. A great adventure it was and besides that Mukunthan is a very nice and relaxed guy... Pandia is a true foodie. He'll take you to as many places as you can still eat, so forego that lunch and go hungry! Although we were a group of five girls, we are fiercely curious about all the food so we went to 13 eateries and tasted 26 dishes, lasting for five hours. I didn't know that there are... More

Really enjoyed this culinary understanding of Madurai's cuisine. Praveena has a wealth of knowledge about the food's origins and cultural values, which certainly provides an added aesthetic experience.

We are astonished by so many favourable reviews. We'd give it zero out of five! At 2000Rs/- per person, it was a joke. Our disinterested 'host' seemed half asleep most of the time - we had to keep making different observations to elicit any comment. (A similar tour in bangalore cost 700 Rs PP & was 50 times better). The... More

Dear Louise and Tony, Thank you for your feedback. We regret that you did not find value in our food tour. Each city in India has a different food culture and Madurai is home to some of the most unique traditional food in the South and I don’t think they can be bench marked against each other. Our charge of... More

My travel friend and I nearly always book a food walking tour when in a new city. This one was something special! Booking via email was quick and easy. Our guide picked us up at our hotel promptly and was a delight. Not only did we have the chance to taste and learn about many of the region's delicious and... More

My partner and I traveled to Madurai in Dec 2015. Foodies day out was a lovely eve with three other guests from Austria and the US. We covered quite a few number of places in 3.5 hours. We were advised to skip lunch in the anticipation of the eve and were therefore quite hungry! The portions ordered were moderate, which... More
