I had been with my family to Monkey falls during November and its a really excellent place to relax and have a nice bath. The earlier reviews were good but not updated , as now the facilities have changed a lot and its a very nice ONE DAY TRIP from Coimbatore.
The road throughout was excellent but the sign posts and directions were really missing a lot. The Government should really look into this point as Pollachi is Single place from where you can head to Topslip, Valparai, Palani, Udumalpet and many more.
After this earlier hiccup we headed straight to Monkey Falls and spent a good amount of time. The falls is safe but for the hard rock but no drowning will happen and children can enjoy a lot but care should be taken on the slippery rocks.
There was single room for changing the dresses for Women Folks which was missing earlier , but is not enough during Season or Holiday times.
Monkeys are plenty and we should remember that we are at their place and should not worry or attract them with our feeds, else you are inviting trouble.
Remember to take your own food whilst coming back , you can have it any of the coconut farms enroute. Else make this trip enroute to Valparai

They charge Rs.20/- for head if you are not visit on the season time then you will disappoint you cann't able to wet even your legs.but the location among the forest is greenery you like the atmosphere.spent some sunday afternoons thats all combine with some other tours like topslip and a car route is there to enter topslip area from azhiliyar river area.enquire with local peoples it is a jumpy experience

Good place for group and couple. Need to be very careful about the rocks near the falls and monkeys near the vehicle parking. Monkeys try to enter into the vehicles and it will snatch all the edibles.

It is on the way to Valparai from Pollachi. So get down in monkey falls and have some fresh air and get wet with pure cold water. Prefer to go in seasonal times, falls we can always enjoy in their seasonal times. Visit with your gang of friends or whole of the family.

It is a nice place to visit and the climate remains pleasant. Particularly, when there is good water-flow in the falls, it feels like heaven. The falls is safe and no drowning will happen and children can enjoy a lot but care should be taken on the slippery rocks. The only con was, there was a single room for changing the dresses for women, which will not be sufficient during the season time where there will be a lot of crowd. You can find lot of monkeys, so better keep your food packets safe. Except this, everything is fine. It is a great place to spend a day.

Monkey falls in pollachi area is place to have water fall experience. Surrounding area is full of monkeys during our visit. Even though they do not harm you, keep your edible things away from their sigh (especially in hands of children). Falls have ample water flow after monsoon, visiting in summer months is of course useless. You dont have any facilities for a dress change, be prepared to travel in wet clothes.
Bathing and enjoying under water with skid rocks was found risky. We visited kovai kutrallam falls same day which really amuses you.
Adjacent to monkey falls there is VEDADRI maharshi's ashramam, one can go there and have a stroll inside green lushly gardens. If you are interested spend some time in meditation hall. It has a nice inspiring architectural building with a nice mountain scenery back-drop.
Very near to it (1.5 kms) you have other attraction of coimbatore..Aliyar dam, one can visit there and proceed to these two locations.
Coimbatore is sunny and hot place, do not venture these in summer months.

I had visited the Monkey Falls on the 22nd of June. It was after the South West monsoon had set over Kerala about a fortnight earlier. The Falls was in full flow and provided a great sight. Though there was a large water flow, it was not dangerous and a large number of tourists took bath under the falls, The falls is just near the main road itself and so provides very easy access. True to its name , the place is full of monkeys and one has to be careful not to carry any eatables in hand. It is just about 5 kms from Aliyar dam and with it forms a good one day trip out of Coimbatore. Do take towels and change clothes and enjoy the refreshing bath under the falls. Of course , one must choose the right season . Otherwise, one would be disappointed.
